77" All time low price of $3599

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/846541

This price is $500 more, not a very good deal.

    • Fair. The 65" had the largest discount but I'm not sure what a good price for it is.

  • Can't see these prices on the education store.

  • Shame that we dont get the QD Oled panels

I got the 55" s90C earlier this year for $1250. Oled panel is great. Though the UI and UX is a step down from Sony's google softwaren imo. Im still trying to get to grips with it. Clunky etc.

Yep, I have the 77" s90c and the software is just OK. Also many of the apps seem to be poorly designed and maintained on Tizen, with regular lock-ups.

But the QD OLED panel is delightful!

    • I have a S95C and the interface is gawd awful. it's a shame, as i previously owned the KS6000 which had the incredible minimalist remote and user interface. I really disliked the move to full screen navigation menus, rather than the ribbon own the bottom of the screen.

Currently, I am dealing with an issue where the TV stops interfacing with HDMI devices until I do a full hard reset. Might just ask them to exchange it for this and pay the difference.

    • You should probably get an Apple TV or Google TV to workaround the UI issues.

      • I have a Chromecast w/Google TV but it uses its own gallery screensaver which is not ideal for OLED (my little one just wanders off with her show paused).

Anyone know how to force the Samsung screensaver instead (or a suitable black image) while running Google TV?

is the 65 QD oled still? its just the big boys that are WOLED yeah?

    • 42", 48" and 83" are WOLED. All the other are QD OLED

      • 55, 65, & 77 are a mix depending on country. Unfortunately for AU, they're all WOLED.

        For reference:
QD-OLED will have WXXY as the last four digits of the model number.
WOLED will have EXXY as the last four digits of the model number. This is the only model number found in Australia.

        • Good to know

        • Is this still true?

JB for example have WXXY model numbers https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-65-s90d-oled-4k-s… which is QD-OLED.

RTings also has this comment on their S90D review https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/s90d-s90dd-oled-qd…

"Internationally, it's a bit more complicated. In Australia, for example, the model codes are different, and the 55-inch and 65-inch sizes that use QD-OLED panels end in 'WXXY,' whereas the 77-inch and 83-inch models that use WOLED panels end in 'EXXY.' These last four digits vary between different regions, but if the fourth last digit of the model code is an 'E,' the TV very likely uses a WOLED panel."

Hope to get QD-OLED panel next year for the 90 range though.

  • Best TV I've owned but still a bit expensive imho, I paid $2151.23 about 3 months. They didn't collect my old TV with the trade in deal, so ended up selling that for $100.

  • Logged in with westpac and the 65" is $2794

    • Checked today and I still have the lower price. It may have different pricing depending on the employer

  • Is Westpac not available to get Samsung anymore?
