I think you're vastly overestimating the quality of products from Spotlight. They make Kmart look like a premium upscale retailer…
I was referring to the $2.50 ones from kmart being thin. Normal towels are fine. How spotlight justify selling these on ebay for $65 plus postage when regular price is $19???
~450GSM seems pretty standard for 'generic named brand' towels, but no info on homebrand, so I'd guess that at that price they'd be half that thickness.

So without using any BigW coupons, you'd be looking at $24 for a similar set.

Spotlight cancelled and refunded the out of stock towel sets, however fulfilled a $2 sticker set and still charged the $10 postage. 😬

These were the cheapest most rubbish towels I have ever seen. They are thinner than a handkerchief and the colour will run when you put them in the washer. The lint basket in the drier was stuffed full of fibres.
Spotlight usually sells better quality than this. I guess they are also in a race to the bottom…
