Still one of the most useful drones imo. Fairly quiet, doesn't sound like a chainsaw.
Nice camera. Get the bigger battery so less stress.

    • -5

The bigger battery will push it above 250g which is technically not allowed unless you are licensed to fly it.

      • +5

That's incorrect. There are some small restrictions on flying within airport zones if over 250gm. You do not need a license unless flying commercially.

        • +1

Yeah my bad. I forgot that the limit is only applicable within 5.5km of an airport.

      • +2

        Incorrect

  • Showing AU $954.00 for me without ebay plus - price must of been raised?

    • So cheaper at JB for $939 but OOS in WA

    • +2

Did you add at least $6 in extra item(s) from the The Good Guys eBay store (or another eligible store) to bring your spend before shipping to over $1000? This deal relies on you doing that in order to achieve the $894 in the deal title, and the OP already explained this requirement in the deal description.

If you do not add at least $6 in extra item(s) from eligible stores, the coupon will only give you $50 off, as your spend before shipping is between $500 and $999.99.

All the drone most people will ever need. Quiet, Long flight time, small, easy to store, usb recharge straight into the drone, great controller & obstacle avoidance.

Consider a 4 for a few hundred extra $. Consider a 5 likely to be released very soon. I've owned both a Mini 3 Pro AND a Mini 4 Pro.
Here are the key differences between the DJI Mini 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro drones:

    1. Obstacle sensing:

    - Mini 3 Pro: Tri-directional obstacle sensing (forward, backward, downward)
    - Mini 4 Pro: Omnidirectional obstacle sensing (all directions)

    1. Camera:

    - Mini 3 Pro: 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor
    - Mini 4 Pro: 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor with improved image processing

    1. Video capabilities:

    - Mini 3 Pro: 4K/60fps
    - Mini 4 Pro: 4K/60fps with 10-bit D-Log M and HLG color profiles

    1. Zoom:

    - Mini 3 Pro: 2x digital zoom
    - Mini 4 Pro: 2x digital zoom for 4K, 3x for 2.7K, and 4x for Full HD

    1. Intelligent flight modes:

    - Mini 4 Pro: Adds ActiveTrack 360° and Advanced FocusTrack

    1. Transmission:

    - Mini 3 Pro: O3 transmission
    - Mini 4 Pro: O4 transmission (improved range and signal stability)

    1. Flight time:

    - Mini 3 Pro: Up to 34 minutes (standard battery)
    - Mini 4 Pro: Up to 34 minutes (standard battery)

    1. Wind resistance:

    - Mini 3 Pro: Level 5
    - Mini 4 Pro: Level 6 (improved stability in windy conditions)

    1. Release date:

    - Mini 3 Pro: May 2022
    - Mini 4 Pro: September 2023

Both drones maintain the sub-249g weight class, which is important for regulations in many countries. The Mini 4 Pro builds upon the Mini 3 Pro with improved obstacle avoidance, better wind resistance, and enhanced intelligent flight modes, while maintaining similar size and weight.

Nice summary, I did consider the 4, cheapest I could find with same controller was about $1200 roughly $300 more. Considering mine will likely just sit on the shelf with my other 2 drones hard to justify.

    • Great summary. Are both battery life similar?

      • +3

Yep they use the same battery. In fact, mini 3 pro said to have a longer flight time as it has less sensors for obstacle avoidance.

    • +1

Nice summary. To the average user the only real benefits are the Omni direction obstacle sensing, maybe improved tracking and signal stability but if you're a casual user you won't notice the differences (except to your wallet).

    • Thanks.
Been holding out for the 4, as the omnidirectional object sensor is what id like

  • 1 month for delivery.

    • They should use drones to deliver

  • For $110 more, get the Mini 4 from David Jones, than this old stuff…

    • +3

Saw that but pretty sure that’s the basic screenless controller add a few $100 for the good one.

      • -7

700 nits brightness on that screen is horrible outside during the day. YOure better off using a better phone or tablet that still supports DJI Fly. Additionally, the RC-N2 controller has been tested in multiple regional locations (no signal interference) and can travel 3-4km (well beyond VLOS) without signal loss…so unsure why people would pay the extra for a non-upgradable low brightness screen built in, when we all have phones or tablets.

  • If only they had drone only…
I still have my RC controller and 2 batteries

    • You can sometimes find those on Amazon US.

  • Does anyone know what the price is at the good guys commercial?

    • +1

Not available there from what I could find, or rather couldn't find.

  • +1

OP just a heads up. Please update the "What's in the box".
It comes with the RC, not RC2, as the Mini 3's are not compatible with the RC2.

    • +2

Thx it’s been updated. Got that straight from the good guys page where it says “ What's In The Box DJI Mini 3 Pro 1,DJI RC 2 Remote Controller 1, Int”

  • +1

The 4 is worth the jump. Personally I use my phone. No issues. Nice big screen.

Unfortunately living in Victoria there are more restrictions on where you can fly drones in addition to the CASA regulations. For example, you cannot fly a drone on any land managed by Parks Victoria :( . That means you cannot fly a drone in any national park, state parks etc :( . The penalties if you are caught are up to $3000 per offence :( .
(The detailed wording of the Victorian rule is you cannot take off and land on any Vic Parks managed land )

Good information on the rules at this site.

Does this have the ability to follow you or is that what active tracking is on the 4 pro?

    • Good question. Would like to know also.

      Edit: Found this,….might help.

      • +2

Active track is the feature for following you or an object. Each newer model gets better by adding more sensors.

    • +1

The Neo might be better for active tracking.
Dunno the specs, only watched YT videos

  • Do these drones have the ability to release ‘something’ once at altitude?

  • No good deals on mini 4 pro atm hey?

    • +2

best I've seen is get anaconda to beat HN (if you can find stock) brings the RC2/mini pro 4 down to just above $1200

  • Throwing this out to the brains trust - anyone found a cheaper decent drone crash insurance apart from DJI refresh?
