Asus ZenWiFi Hybrid AX XP4 Wi-Fi 6 Router with Built-in HomePlug AV2 (2-Pack) $199 Delivered ($0 C&C) + Surcharge @ Centre Com

110

The ZenWiFi AX Hybrid system includes a pair of ASUS AX1800 WiFi routers with built-in 1300 Mbps HomePlug AV2 powerline networking. It features unique technologies that give you superfast, reliable and secure WiFi connections – inside or outside your home!

Ideal For Overcoming Thick Walls
The ZenWiFi AX Hybrid combines WiFi and powerline technologies, providing the ideal solution for homes with thick or metal-reinforced walls that cause WiFi backhaul problems. Backhaul data for the mesh network can be sent via powerline over your home's electrical wiring, so home devices can connect at full AX1800 WiFi 6 speeds. The HomePlug AV2 MIMO standard is almost 2X faster* than the previous standard.

I think this is half the usual price of $399. Amazon have it for $287.

Surcharges: 1.2% Card & PayPal, 2% AmEx.

    Don’t pay $229.
    Special price $199.

  • The powerline connection is only good for about ~350Mbps.

    • Also, the speed is not stable even at this speed.
I would say this might be the least option other than Ethernet cable, Fibre, Coxial cables or even Mesh system with dedicated backhaul link.

The powerline connection is only good for about ~350Mbps.

That was when the two adapters were plugged in just a few feet apart. However, in a realistic setup, he only got 90 Mbps. In my experience with AV1000 adapters, even 90Mbps is not achievable unless you are on the same circuit. And slow speed is not your only concern, as EoP can be quite unreliable. EoP can often be slower than Wi-Fi, even in homes with single-brick internal walls, and it’s no match for Wi-Fi in homes with timber-framed drywall. I wouldn't bother with EoP. but this price is not bad because these can also be used as a regular WiFi mesh system over WiFi.

  • a couple of these might be a good shout
