I doubt this will garner much interest but thought I'd submit it just in case.

What we have here is a basic 149 piece watch repair tool kit, sold and shipped by Amazon, which I purchased to hopefully use for changing the batteries in three or four watches, nothing too fancy more just for fun.
The shopping center shoe dude wanted $25 to change a watch battery last I checked but admittedly I haven't shopped around so might be cheaper elsewhere.

Hopefully the watch batteries themselves, whatever they are, aren't too expensive.

FYI - This has 108 Watch Pins which aren't really regarded as tools.

Noted thanks, bit like the cable tie gimmick. For me though the watch pins are just a "bonus".

I already have all of this but no case. Hmm

Thanks OP, I've been wanting to get started with one of these, I'll give it a go at this price

Welcome, this was pretty much my thinking as well.

I've got the tool to open the watch and replace the battery, but I don't have the watch pins. If you've ever tried to remove or replace band links without having the pins, like me, you'll know it's a living hell. My battery costs about $3 for an energiser, bought retail.

    • Thanks. I won't really know what battery to buy until I open the watches up, but around $3 is not so bad I guess.

Shoe dude wants at least $30 to replace my watch battery.

      tell him he's dreamin

      • Price is based on the brand of watch.

        • +1

Batteries are a couple bucks, you can do it yourself in 5 minutes.

That’s crazy that they base it off the brand lol.

I bought this recently to remove links from my watch bracelet. Does the job and saved me a trip to a watch shop.

    • Do they charge you for that?

      • +3

Yeah they do it’s work after all

        • Do you know how much? The place I bought my watch said they offer free adjustments, only problem is they closed down years ago.

          • +6

@shoppe: I guess working for free didn't pay the rent.

            • @WatchNerd: Lol. I didn't get any free work out of them. By the time I needed to add a link, they were no longer in business.

              • @shoppe: Opticians also offer free adjustments, and they usually don't even care where you bought your glasses.

          • @shoppe: 15-20 I reckon it’s just few mins of work

      • Depends. If your watch brand has a boutique. They might do it for free (they did it for me eventhough I didn't buy it from them).

Does it work for fixing apple watch?

I've used a similar one to adjust multiple watch bracelets. One a few days ago. Very useful.

  • Price gone up to $27.99?

Looks like the one you linked to is out of stock, next cheaper I found is this one

      • This works out cheaper as it has free delivery

          $9 delivery for me.

I bought this last month for about the same price. It works well for bracelets adjustment and open screw type battery door but doesn’t have a sharp enough tool to open a push type battery door.

    • Interesting thanks. Did you find a solution? Stanley knife blade maybe?

      • +1

I used a tiny flat head screw driver
