  I was using the 4 port version, but recently upgraded to one with USB-C ports.

  If it's like the 4 port, the blue power LED bleeds through the first USB Port and is always on (even when computer shut down, unless you turn off USB power in BIOS)

    Yep I have that one and the clamp style which works really well attached to a desk. I don't think this one has any blue LEDs.

    have the same 4 port as well, i think i opened it and taped over the LED so it is not so bright but if i look for it, i can still see the light.

      I taped the led hole on the outside and use one of those USB dust-cover in the port.
