    with 500W Peak Power

Unfortunately that is illegal on public roads in VIC…

Hi Jv, All of our electric bikes comply to Australian regulations.
As per the guidelines, electrically power-assisted cycles must have a maximum continuous power output of 250W, which all our NCM E-Bikes meet. Additionally, our other e-bike brands, including ET.Cycle and FOO, also feature 250W continuous motor power. There are no specific regulations concerning peak power. Please note that the power cuts off once the bike reaches 25 km/hr.

    • Peak power means nothing; it does not count since it is only available for a split second.

Legislation takes into account only nominal power i.e. something that is available over a long run.

      • Peak power means nothing

The why are they advertising it?

        • +1

Because when you're pulling off from 0, or just get a short spike up, it gets/keeps you going quicker.

        • +1

Because it is bigger than nominal and can confuse people into thinking it is more powerful than it really is.

          • @alpln: I thought so… So they are trying to mislead customers then…

            • @jv: Every seller is trying to do so. It is the essence of marketing.

                Misleading customers?

All the features in a trekking bike you don't need…back to the future 26" wheels, hub motor, low end derailleur, and a handy battery eTag. At least the battery is sizeable.

Better bang for buck with Valk Metro for $1400 / $1189

    • what's the different between these 2 bike, I kinda of wanna to get one, good price

      • step through frame and non step through frame - they have the same ananda m60 motor

      • what's the different between these 2 bike

        girls vs boys

    • G'day - do you happen to know where to get spare batteries for this model?

      • There's high chance it uses one of typical bike battery models that other vendors also use. And if not, in the end every battery is made of standard AA-kind of cells and certain ebikie/scooter shops can take your old battery, open it up and replace the cells.

  • Another NCM post without listing the weight.

    Weight (without battery): 24.8KG
    Battery Weight: 4.8KG
    Total Weight: 29.6 KG

For comparison, a similarly priced VALK sits at 25kg and Lekker at 26kg. Even a kitted out Lekker (mid-hub, Enviolo integrated hub) is 27kg. The NCM's are boat anchors.

    • FWIW if people want to comment on this thread I've started —> please bring data. I genuinely feel at hitting 30kgs, the NCMs aren't viable eBikes for many (particularly of petite frame).

I welcome to share examples of bikes being at similar price points with similar weights but from the research I did, time after time in comparison the NCMs came up worse.

FWIW 99Bikes does the same thing of not sharing the weight of their bikes up front.

  • So many people comment on eBike weight, but don't understand the extra weight of battery, motor, controllers, wiring requires stronger frame components, then add in the extra power and everything needs beefing up, including axles, rims, tyres, tubes, kick stand, lights.

The added weight becomes irrelevant with motor assistance unless you are a 'lazy' cyclist… the riders who pedal very little effort and simply rely on the assistance for motion.
