Hey Oz Bargain Community,

If you're flat chat, please feel welcome to skip to the bold for the deal details, but if you have have an extra couple of minutes please read the rest as there's some super thrilling (perhaps a slight overstatement) order process improvements :)

You ask, we listen and I'm over the moon to announce some very very exciting (well at least I think so) upgrade to our unique scheduled/delayed dispatch system. Moving forward changing dispatch dates should hopefully be an absolute breeze for you. No more sending me an email and patiently waiting (I know I need to move my typing speed skills to the next gear) for me to make the change and get back to you. Now you're in control and can very easily bring your dispatch forward to ASAP or delay it further (two straight forward ways how listed below in options 1 and 2)….but wait there's more improvements…ever lost track of orders and ended up stockpiling or even worse running out of the good stuff? Well we've implemented a solution for that too (detailed in point 2 below). Once again thank you for your patience, I know I've been working on implementing these solutions for a little while now!!!

There's two easy ways to reschedule your dispatch date:

1) In your order confirmation email simply click the embedded "View Your Order" button and you'll be taken to the rescheduling calendar on the Thank You Page,
2) Simply log into your Lime Blue Coffee account (if you don't yet have a free account with us then I'd highly recommend creating one as it'll streamline your life admin ordering process tenfold). Then just click your name, which is to the left of "log out." This will bring up your order list history which shows all your orders their status as fulfilled or unfulfilled and the current scheduled dispatch date reserved, on this page you can click the pen icon next to an unfulfilled order dispatch date and reschedule your dispatch date to ASAP or further in the future, If you want to find out more specific information about an order once logged in, e.g. which products were ordered, then simply click the order number from your order list, you'll then see all the order specific details and be able also reschedule the dispatch from there,

To celebrate these order process upgrades we're offering you a 40% discount off our all time crowd favourite Brazil São Paulo Single Origin, our much loved Swiss Water Process Decaf and our fast growing in popularity Half Strength Full Flavour Brazil São Paulo:

1) Brazil São Paulo Single Origin, only $27.90 per 1kg (usually $46.50 per 1kg) and $16.35 per 500g (usually $27.25 per 500g)

2) Swiss Water Process Decaf, only $29.39 per 1kg (usually $48.98 per 1kg), and $17.09 per 500g (usually $28.49 per 500g)

3) Half Strength Brazil São Paulo Single Origin, only $28.64 per 1kg (usually $47.74 per 1kg), and only $16.72 per 500g (usually $27.87 per 500g)

Deal valid for orders placed until 17/09/2024, unless sold out before. Dispatch can happen for you as near as Monday and as far as the second last Thursday in December (19/12/2024). Once a given dispatch date is at full capacity the green circle will be removed and date will turn red, first in best dressed :)

Some helpful info:

  • You're welcome to place multiple orders scheduled for dispatch at various dates (delayed dispatch) to make the most of this deal, we strive to dispatch our fresh coffee within 48 business hours of roasting
  • We're happy to accommodate dispatch date changes, you just need to select a new dispatch date either via clicking the "View Your Order" button in the order confirmation page or simply logging into you Lime Blue Coffee account
  • One dispatch per order
  • If you select 500g as a quantity please ensure you also select 500g as the packaging option. If 500g is selected as a quantity with 1kg as the packaging selection the product will show as "unavailable"
  • 500g bag packaging (it's resealable) is also available for orders larger than 500g this is an extra $4.80 per kg including the discount (normally $8 extra per kg) to cover the extra bag/s, label/s and time it takes to pack
  • Complimentary gift notes can be submitted via a reply message to your order confirmation email
  • The largest bag size we use is 1kg and it has a zip (it's resealable), for example if you order 4kg with 1kg packaging you will receive 4 x 1kg bags, you will not receive a single huge 4kg bag

    Love your work mate

    • Wonderful to know I'm in your good books @Deal-Sniper I promise I'll keep working hard to stay there!!!

  • Good upgrade. I still can't see my order details, like what date I chose for dispatch. Order #57746.
There's no pen icon or any way to see or change the details.
Is this for new orders only?

Morning @shiny1 appreciate you taking the time to reach out and double check!

Spot on, these are "moving forward" improvements. I would have loved to have been able to edit our existing scheduled dispatch system to implement these improvements, but the only viable way to get the job done was to start from scratch. As we've rebuilt the system from a tech perspective, orders made prior to the new system will still need me to manually change the dispatch date via an email request. By the end of October all orders using the older tech will have been dispatched, so a relatively short and hopefully painless transition period for customers. Any orders placed today will be on the new system and some order placed over the last week or so will also be on the new system as we were turning the new tech/code on and off to test and tweak during the last week and a bit.

Terrific to know this upgrade's a winner for you :)

  • Hi Tom, loving your varied sale offerings and the new rescheduling options are just more icing on the cake. Quick general question regarding roasting date vs dispatch date. Do you roast multiple times per week or is there a particular day of the week for dispatch that will achieve the freshest beans? I’ve never had an issue with ‘old’ beans, just interested to know, especially now we have more flexibility with manipulating orders. Cheers

Absolutely music to my ears to know we're in your good books for our variety and just adding some extra icing on the cake for you with these scheduled dispatch upgrades!

Great question and I wish I had an exact answer for you, so you pin point the ultimate dispatch days to select. We roast several times a week and it's all determined by how busy the week is, so our roasting schedule does vary somewhat from week to week…super hectic may mean roasting 7 days in a given week, a slightly less crazy week may mean we roast 3 days that week. Main point is your coffee will always be dispatched nice and fresh :)

Anyone who loves a smooth chocolatey flavour in their coffee, get into the Brazil São Paulo Single Origin deal. Great beans!

    • +2

Indeed, it’s delicious! me takes a sip

I personally like it with a ristretto shot of only 15-20 seconds to make a long black. It’s pleasingly bitter but not overpowering. If I want the full kick of flavour then I’ll do a longer shot of at least 30 seconds into a smaller cup with milk.

  • Excellent improvements Tom, as always - love it! I bought a coffee machine to save money from my 1 coffee a day cafe habit and now I go through 2kg of your beans on my own a month from 3x double shots a day LOL. the Brazil bean is absolutely brilliant!

Random question to Tom or other coffee enthusiasts out there - I was reading something that you can re-use a coffee puck once from an espresso shot to then make a cold brew to further extract a good flavour & also caffeine from the grounds an extra time. Currently I just bin it after one espresso shot as I’m sure most do. Has anyone done this? I do plan to give it a try but involves saving my coffee grounds in a container in the fridge for a good few days and then filtering it with a sieve or something I imagine.

    • If you watch the output as it flows through the espresso machine you will see it turns from a nice thick creamy brown color to basically a dirty water color with the later part being weak and bitter. After that I wouldn't expect there is much goodness to extract after that, so while I appreciate your Oz bargain spirit I doubt there is anything worth doing with the used pucks other than putting in the garden.

    • I’ve also heard this and I’ve given it a try but only managed super-weak coffee that was a step above dirty dishwater. Not worth the effort. I agree with AsSeenOnTv the best use for pucks is crush them up and sprinkle in the garden. Apparently old coffee is not good in worm farms (too acidic) but I’ll still give my little guys a good sprinkle now & then. Worms are like birds and have a crop to help break down food, and the tiny sharp-edged grinds are just the right size for them.

Morning @dammit woohoo for that outstanding vote of confidence, thank you so much for that fantastic compliment!!!

Loving those number and the irony haha, we'll if your coffee enjoyment has gone up 3x or more then you're still ahead :)

Great question and it is reasonable to think this may be a viable option. However, as the vast majority of the extraction happens early in the shot and overextraction usually results in increased bitterness. Furthermore, Espresso requires a fine grind and Cold Brew a coarse grind, so the grind particle size and distribution wouldn't be ideal for Cold Brew. Taken the above into consideration I wouldn't recommend pulling a shot and then using the used puck for cold brew. However, used coffee grounds can be used for a number of other things, so you don't need to throw them all out, e.g. a body scrub, fertiliser for the garden, an garden insect deterrent…

    • It wont be a very nice cold brew thats for sure, once you do an espresso youve extracted all the good stuff. and youre left with all the left over bitter brown sadness water.

Hey Tom, is there any way we can order ground instead of beans?

    • Hey @jake32 never hurts to double check!

The coffee's featured in this deal are only available as whole beans, but it you're about the run out of the good stuff, it may be the ideal opportunity to take the plunge and get a grinder, you should be able to get a decent hand burr grinder for under $60 online :)

      • It's bean a while.. I've got a grinder but like the convenience on ground sometimes also, especially in the office we might finish a bag in < 3 days.

  • Love the coffee and love the idea of being able to view my order history, much better than searching my mailbox 😊. Thanks Tom!

Woohoo for the win of time saving and easily getting all your ducks (orders) lined up in a nice row :)

Fantastic to know you love our fresh coffee too!

  • You guys are the best, and perfect timing for me to restock on the Brazil SO before I run out of it in 2 weeks.

    • Woohoo for that uplifting vote of confidence, thank you so much for the compliment and another terrific order!!!

Love to hear when timing works out perfectly :)

      • oh, I cannot order expresso ground instead of beans. That is unfortunate, is it just this time only or the ground option is permanently gone?

  • hi Tom, will the schedule dispatch date only show the new orders from now on, or if we already have unfulfilled orders pending from a previous deal should it show up?

on my iPhone I can see my account history including orders which say unfulfilled, but there is no dispatch date appearing via Chrome app, probably as the page formats for Mobile… However if I hold my phone landscape, I can then see a dispatch date column heading appear, but it’s blank. if I click request desktop version, nothing changes.

    Here’s a screenshot https://imgur.com/a/SYBcT2E

Maybe it only starts working for New orders

    • Hey again @dammit as mentioned above to @shiny1

    Hi Tom,

Loved the Brazil SO last time, but looking at your decaf I can see its a pretty high elevation coffee. Im generally a fan of less acidic beans and so generally hunt for low elevation coffees. But the acidity profile doesn't match. Is that because of how dark the beans are or because of the decaf process makes it less acidic?

    • Hey @itswags76 fantastic to know you love our Brazil SO!!!

All great questions and fair assumptions too. You are correct that higher elevations tend to have higher acidity kicks. However, that alone does not determine acidity levels, there are a number of other factors which also impact acidity levels. Our Decaf looks dark due to the Swiss Water Process, but is actually a light-medium omni roast. Go by the notes, we have designed the ROR (rate of rise in temp during roasting) to result in the acidity level indicated by the notes on the product page :)

      • Awesome, ill be putting in an order that dispatches once Im done with current supply. Look forward to it

  • Hey Tom,

Price for 1KG Brazil São Paulo Single Origin showing as $32.70
Can you please have a look?

    • Hey @kiranozy never hurts to double check!

I believe you have 1kg in 500g bags selected AKA 2x500g bags. Simply switch the packaging to 1kg bag/s and you should see an instant price change :)

      • Got it, thanks mate

        • :)

  • What is the taste difference between the normal SO and half strength?

    • Hey @serpserpserp great question!

In a nutshell, the difference is a sweet malt flavour addition (with the Half Strength Full Flavour product). Compare a chocolate milkshake to a malt chocolate milkshake and you've essentially described the flavour difference :)

  • Express shipping increased from $9.99 to $12.99??

    • Morning @Spending2Much the annual Australia Post price increase happens around this time of year and I'm sorry to say there's now too many orders we've been making a loss on for Express Post. As such, we've unfortunately had to revert back to the prior Flat Rate Express Shipping rate we had of $12.99. It's still a subsided rate, so on average we're still paying Australia Post more than we're charging customers for shipping. Next time we enter contract negotiations with Australia Post if we can viably reduce Express back to $9.99 we will :)

  • Amazing! I got the Brazil São Paulo from the last deal and it was incredible. I been making espressos with my new automatic machine (Delonghi Magnifica S) and at the moment my sweet spot is at 1:3, though I have a feeling 1:2 is going to be even better. This has really increased my coffee consumption so I'm gonna have to cut down to half strength moving forward haha. Bought 3kg of that for delivery next month, super excited for my decreased (but increased) coffee intake. Keep up the good work!
