PS5 Trade in Offers for PS5 Pro

After the announcement last night, I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts on the trade in offers that we might get from retailers here in Australia.

Edit: Changed title as there was some confusion.

  • My guess is $500. Ideally with eb world on top..

even $500 seems high. marketplace is flooded with them for that and cheaper…

  • I remember getting 40% off PS5 by trading in PS4 Pro at launch in 2020. Would be happy with similar arrangement for the Pro.

    • I hope we can trade in the OG PS5 model, although if that's the case I'll probably get less with it.

Trade-in value of a PS5, or a PS5 Pro? Cos your OP is asking the expected Trade-in value of a PS5 Pro, which seems ridiculous to speculate on

    • PS5 obviously. PS6 isn't out yet, why would it be the trade-in value of the PS5 Pro.

      • PS5 Pro Trade in Predictions

        It's your title, mate.

If you read the description, it's easily interpreted as what I'm saying.

          • @mu11yy: It categorically is not, mate. Not if we use reading comprehension.

Trading in a ps5 for ps5 pro seems a little nuts. Though many ps4 users who were holding out might be a better off sticking with ps5 slim. That RRP is no way gonna hold, and suspect they will do a ‘sale’ which includes the disc drive.

I was holding out and wish I didn’t . Ps5 slim it is during next sale ;)

Trade in offers? You should have sold your PS5 in anticipation for this. I got $700 for my console. That would put me at around 60% off for whatever the Pro will be.

    • I was never desperate for one, as I've got a high end PC. Too many games to play and not enough time lol

    • how did you sell it for 700 when you can buy brand new around that price?? and where?

      • +4

he sold it to his daddy

      • Nobody is paying $700 for a PS5 second hand… Lol, I got my disc model for $350 3 months old with accessories and warranty from a dude who bought it to play one game then wanted it gone.

Maybe back when they were new and only scalpers had them for sale.

how much would they take a broken xbox series x? i was able to buy cheap but has big crack in case lol.

    • You may wanna just hang onto that one.

      • they said 191 i might do that. making 10 dollars more and stuff. lol I don't know yet.

Your price categories seem way too high. I suspect it would be more like $300 for OG Digital, $400 for OG Disc and Digital Slim and $500 for Disc Slim.

    • @witheredcouch - The difference between what they offer for the digital slim and disc slim would need to be greater, because if you were to trade a disc slim for $500, then you may as well just remove the disc drive from your disc slim console and trade the console as a digital slim for $400 considering a brand new disc drive costs $159, and keep the disc drive to use with the Pro.

      • You'd need to have the plate to attach though? Unless the slim with disc drive also comes with the all digital plate?

        • @witheredcouch - The slim disc edition does come with the white plate included to remove the disc drive and change the console from the disc edition to the digital edition.

      • Did you end up doing this im thinking about it. But i dont want to get banned

Is the poll 'how much will PS5 Pro be after trade in' or 'trade in value of my PS5' because if it's the latter, OP is pure delulu.

    • PS5 Pro after trade in.

  • And here I am waiting for the PS6 lol… my brain is still wired all PS5's are OOS due to the pandemic lol

  • It's so bloody expensive :/

  • +1

Considering RRP is $1200 and then the disc drive is optional is a massive turn off

  • what an absolute rip. Just like how samsung and apple can get away $2k+ phones that have barely any innovation from the previous models. world is crumbling apart.

    • so u buying day 1 I assume…

      • assumption is absolutely without a doubt 100% in my mind that it is utterly and incompetently incorrect.
