+1 for the colour brother. I've got the MFC-L3770CDW and been great.
Another +1 for Colour Brother. Have a Brother L3745CDW. Hasn't missed a beat
Brother MFC-L3760CDW
Weight: 20.4 kg
Finding something lighter will be tough.
Once it's set up, replacing the toner cartridges isn't too heavy of a task for an elderly person.
So this over a HP? of similar $$ value?
What Model HP? Something like HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M183fw Printer?
Personally, I've used Brother Printers for many users, Mono Laser and Colour Laser, never had a problem and they have been super easy to use.
$316.00 seems expensive for replacement compatible cartiges , mine is $29 am I missing something? https://www.ebay.com/itm/161806924987?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DI…
Different printer? Looks like you have a $1,150 printer?
$49 I think I paid was an Ozbargains deal, similar to this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/314798
I've always found the cheapest one to run is the one at work. It's never cost me a cent.
Spot on.
if you are talking about office then I would recommend you Toshiba which cost 3K complete multifunction with A3 paper and with one cartridge you can go for about 3K bw print easily
Didn't read the post? It's just for an elderly lady to print her emails and thins. Don't think she wants to spend $3k!
Multifunction
Fax ?
More photocopying
For emails and documents, is colour necessary? Running costs can be frightening next to a B&W.
When someone prints email, it's hard to argue any further…
This is true.
In her case yes , she prints a bit in color
Look up the new Brother INKvestment, being a competitor to Epson Ecotank. Doesn't do duplex printing if that's something you want
mainly emails and documents
In colour?
I'd suggest a cheap MFC laser B&W my Fuji Xerox 225dw is like $20 per compatible toner
Get a dedicated small laser with cheap toner (I have a Dell C1760nw $100 for set of 4)
I agree however she is mid eighties and wants color has been using an epson ink multifunction up till now.
i picked up my fuji xerox of ozbrgains years ago for $49 and hasn't missed a beat…..
HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fdw
Based on my experience, look at Brother MFC-L3760CDW ($499 at Officeworks) and then Ink at https://www.inkstation.com.au/4-pack-brother-tn258xl-compati… which does about 2,300 pages.
