SOYO M2PLUS2 Mini PC Didn't Come with Australian Power Plug

OzBargain deal: SOYO M2PLUS2 Mini PC: Intel N100, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD US$97.01 (~A$145) Shipped @ Cutesliving Store via AliExpress

I bought this thinking it would be a good buy but i haven't been able to use it because it doesn't come with an AU power plug option. I've tried using a couple of the travel adaptors, but they are unstable/spark when coupled with this large/awkward power point supplied.

I know I can send it back to the seller but there is a good chance I'll never get a refund and the goods will be gone too.

Has anyone who purchased this item found a workaround?

  • Can you just substitute a laptop power brick of the right voltage and current?

  • What are the specs on the power supply? Could probably just buy an AU one, just figure out the specs and barrel size.

Sounds like you could be feeding 230V into a 110V powersupply though, I'd probably stop doing that if I was you.

    • It says 12V, 3.0A and 34W on the back of the power supply with 120-240V input

      • Post up a picture of the plug. The review pictures make it look like a standard 5.5mm plug, but that would be weird on a PC.

    From the deal.

At present, we only provide Eur-standard power cord plugs and US-standard power cord plugs

    How surprising.

  • Does the power supply supplied with it have an unpluggable cable?

If yes: unplug the cable and replace it with a cable with an Australian plug on it.

If no: replace the power supply with one that produces the same voltage and enough current and has an Australian plug on it.

I'm using an Australian adapter with the USA connector it came with and it works fine. Try a better adapter?

  • I've been waiting for this to go back down to $140ish. Would be happy to take it off your hands instead of sending back to Ali.
