Thank god for 9.86 hours of battery life. It's disgusting some manufacturers are advertising less than 9.85, frankly
that's the sound man… battery is 1.58 lolll… however that .1 is big deal for some :P
lucky if you can get 4 hours out of it
Converted from imperial to metric hours, obviously.
What's In The Box - 1 Year
1 year of my life back for $424? I'll take 20.
that bezel on the 3i tho
That 2nd hand laptop on eBay is much better than this…
officeworks pricematch?
I hate AMD’s naming, despite starting with a 7 this is still Zen 2 (although it supports DDR5 and uses less power because it’s a 6nm chip). It has less PCIe lanes and gutted the GPU, it is significantly less powerful than a Ryzen 3 5300U GPU.
It really should be a Ryzen 3 too, it only has 4 cores. All other Ryzen 5 chips based off Zen 2 had 6 cores
I agree; I was shocked at how slow it is
I have a couple year old lenovo 14" similar laptop and 8 gb ram is NOT advisable its laggy doing basic stuff.
It's amazing how I am able to get by professionally as a developer with 8gb ram.
Not recommended, but it is enough unless you have like a hundred tabs open. I have to actually manage them and close them or it struggles hard.

Cool story, never said you couldnt "get by".
its laggy doing basic stuff.
Sure sounds like you implied it…
NOT advisable its laggy doing basic stuff.
Maybe dont take things out of context.
Big difference between "NOT advisable" and simply DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP.
Wasn't meant to be a cool story but glad you enjoyed it.
From AI:
AMD Ryzen 5 7520U
- Architecture: Zen 2
- Core Configuration: 4 cores and 8 threads
- Base Clock Speed: Around 2.8 GHz
- Boost Clock Speed: Up to around 4.3 GHz
- TDP: 15W
- Integrated Graphics: AMD Radeon 610M
Intel Core i7-1165G7
- Architecture: Tiger Lake
- Core Configuration: 4 cores and 8 threads
- Base Clock Speed: Around 2.8 GHz
- Boost Clock Speed: Up to around 4.7 GHz
- TDP: 12-28W (configurable TDP)
- Integrated Graphics: Intel Iris Xe Graphics
Overall, the Intel Core i7-1165G7 generally outperforms the AMD Ryzen 5 7520U due to its higher boost clock speed, stronger integrated graphics (Iris Xe), and architectural advantages in single-threaded tasks. The performance differences will be more noticeable in tasks that are CPU-intensive or require robust integrated graphics performance.
However, if you are looking for a cost-effective solution and do not require the extra graphical performance or single-thread performance offered by the Intel i7-1165G7, the AMD Ryzen 5 7520U is still a capable processor for many typical consumer and office tasks. Always consider the specific use case and price-to-performance ratio when making your choice.
I decided on the Ryzen 15.6" as I prefer the bigger screen.
That AI summary doesn't take into account that the 7520U is much more efficient so battery life should be a decent bit better.
I am always plugged in, so battery not that important for me.
It's mainly the screen quality and CPU power that I weight up.
it's always better to compare passmark
gives your TDP/watt as well as real world performance comparison
have to be wary that the score is an average of the last 5 results, so best to check out the individual results to make sure there aren't any incompetent submissions where they didn't kill all background processes before testing that massively brought down the average
Any laptops with thunderbolt 4 or usb4?
any good for this price? my last laptop was some similar Lenovo and the speakers were not loud enough…
