    2.5 year old model

Not bad specs for a $309 phone as long as you are happy with Android 14.

No audio jack, no memory card support.

Not bad for $309 though. Snapdragon 8 gen 1, 2 x nano SIMs

Motorola razr 40 is on sale too, $434 delivered with the coupon.

    • Should make a post for it

  • If you can live with maximum 649 to 685 nits of brightness it's a good phone I guess but it'll struggle sunny outdoor use for sure.
Gorilla glass 3 in front screen for "premium flagship" ??
I dunno about this. Security updates non-existent by now.
This phone was released in March 2022.

    • Non existent? Android 14 is slow with it coming this month. My Ultra however received Android 14 early this year and gets frequent security updates.

      • Motorola AUS indicates it will receive security updates until September 2025. So about one year remaining for up-to-date security patches.
Guess you can still use the phone long after updates stop.

        • 3 years is pretty standard these days outside of Samsung. I typically upgrade after that time anyway. I'm tempted for a fold something next.

Terrible useless battery. Don't buy. I am moving from this to the nothing phone 2a

  • Seems a reasonable price

  • I had a Edge 30 Fusion matched with a GameSir G8 for a while, made a pretty great gaming machine. Downside was the 21:9 screen though.

  • I've had this phone for a year, but since I carry a portable battery around, it works fine. I'm still getting software updates currently. I'm actually on Android 13 though but I challenge anyone here to mention any meaningful differences between 13 and 14 or 15?

I was about to unlock the bootloader and install Magisk but I didn't have a lot of luck on the custom rom front.

It was supposed to be getting Android 14 in September so should be in the next few weeks. This phone will still get updates into next year as well.

Sorry, I was on the train and very tired…

I've had this phone about a year, the battery life is average if you're a heavy user but I carry a portable charger so I don't notice. Android 13 good enough for me, it has that auto subtitles generation feature built into the volume control which to me is the only real advance I've seen in Android for many many years. The OS is very close to being vanilla android imho.

Bootloader can be unlocked and I was able to install magisk, couldn't find any custom roms but I haven't looked for a few months.

When not in use, the phone will lose about 5% battery overnight.

  • Beautiful phone, except that you will be looking for a charger every 8 hours. I'm typing on it with 8% battery and I last charged it around 11am.

  • This is almost the cheapest mobile phone that supports WiFi 6E at present, very suitable to be used as 5G sim card router.

    • USB-C port is 3.1 too, so you're theoretically not bottlenecked by anything if you USB tether

The modem is 10Gbps 5G from memory (you never see that due to available spectrum, but I've seen 2-3Gbps on Optus)

If you're serious about 5G internet, this is likely better: https://www.amazon.com.au/Tenda-5G03-Download-Portable-Gigab…

It may not be faster under ideal conditions, but you can add an external antenna and actually get 5G signal where you otherwise wouldn't. Managed to get from ~20Mbps 4G to 300Mbps 5G on it using a cheap external antenna in the same location. I bought mine as 'used: good condition' for ~$280 though (via Amazon)

  • Had the Edge 40, USB-C port went to crap after ~6 months and had to return it
