    240v?

    • -1

      YES 240V

      EP500 AC Rated Power:

      2000W
      2000W<load<2500W,2min
      2500W<load<3000W,10s
      3000W<load<4800W,500ms
      (peak 4800W)

      • +7

So it's really 3000W peak not 4800W peak. Or if you wanna play bullshit games with numbers why not advertise that it can do a Megawatt for a picosecond? So can an 18650 cell if you hook it up to an oscilloscope 👎

        • -1

Internal resistance of a very good 18650 is about 20mR. Max power ever is gonna be about (4.2^2 / 20E-3) =~900W. Not sure how you'd "hook it up to an oscilloscope" but that would mean even less.

    • pretty simple to click on the link and read the specs…
      EP500 AC: 220-240VAC *3

      • Yes. But I am not very good with volts, amps, watts.

Amps X volts = watts. Presumably output is 240v?

        • 240VAC

          • @battler: This is a 5100Wh battery. Similar to those wall mounted ones? (5kwh wall mount).

If yes, seems really cheap for 5kwh. Chargr during the day and discharge at night.

            • @[Deactivated]: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/860360 approx double the capacity for approx double the price.
Use case is completely different though. We're only comparing $/watt here.

              • @battler: Thanks battler, Buetti EP500 can DIY and doesnt require installation.

Its a mobile battery not for residential home use.

All home batteries require installation by and electrician and the minimum cost of around $2000 in most areas….

                • @GREEN IOT: Guess this charges from standard 240v plug? Good enough to temp storage.

Yes, aware the wall mount ones needs professional installation. And getting a 5kwh battery is upward of $5k.

  • Can it charge from the powerpoint?
Can I use it like a mega ups?

    • It can charge from a power point, but I am not sure what the switchover time is if you want to treat it like a UPS. The newer units such as the AC200L might be more suitable. Those can reach 5000kWh with an expansion battery, but at 5000kWh, it is more expensive than the EP500.

      • AC200L and AC 200PL invetrer capacity is 2400w > than EP500 2000w inverter capacity.

EP500 includes 5.1kwh battery which is a super large capacity as a portable battery.

      • Manual claims:

What is the UPS switching latency?
There are two types of working conditions of Standard UPS for EP500.
No delay for online UPS; 20ms from offline UPS

      • 5000KWh…. breathtaking capacity for a portable battery! Portable with a giant forklift?

  • What is the proposed use of the device?
I have 4 computers and 4 file servers running at home. I now use several separated uninterrupted power supplies to protect them against frequent power disturbance.
Can I use just one of these to protect all of them? How to do it?
    thank you for advices.

    • EP500 can be used as UPS and due to 5kwh battery capacity, it can back up for a couple of hours usage if there is a blackout.

As far as 4 computers and 4 file servers total power consumption is less than 2kw, this should be fine.

What needs to be done is to plug in EP500 to wall power point and your 4 computers and 4 file servers plug to EP500.

      • thank you for your reply. What is switch over time when there is a black out?
i.e. will the computer continue to run without interruption when there is a black out?

  • Any deals for the BLUETTI EP500 Pro version?

    • +1

Hi LHSolutions, EP500 Pro is $900 more expensive than EP500

  • Hi AssociatedGREEN IOT @ Green IOT
Are the EP500 and 500 pro shipped on pallets, mini pallets, or something else?

I ozbargain messaged you for shipping quotes… probbly should have done it here for public info
what's shipping for point turton sa 5575…..
and for edwardstown sa 5039, or any SA freight depot
is there any difference in shipping price between the 500, and the 500 pro?
    cheers koj (aka rooster)

Charging this with solar panels can be a bit of a turn-off. It uses an aviation style plug and needs at least 55V from the solar panel to begin feeding power into it. Considering your roof panels are, on average, between 30V to 45V, you'll need to be running 2 panels in series to get the minimum required voltage.

  • @GREEN IOT

Is there any problem with your website? I seem to have problem doing anything, and there are a lot of JavaScript errors in the console…

    • Hi Xin, the website seems fine to us, just did a dummy order and everything works fine. Please let us know if there is still any error.

  • What fuel does it use to generate power?

    • +1

I believe it fuses hydrogen as the main power source, but you need some solar panels to harvest the energy generated.

    • Hi the power source is solar panels or AC direct charge from house power.
