A new all time low as far as I know for this nice mop.

Although, it is not as good as the overseas models since they took out the LED lights on them.

Note: This mop won't work properly without water and so cannot be used to buff your floors.

Dry buff at your own risk.

A bit of a lube never hurts

  • +3

Been watching price on this for months and yes it is ATL. I got mine last week. I’m impressed for the money worth and can strongly recommend. I will say the only let down so far is the very limited capacity tank. I did a normal-ish lounge, kitchen and hallway and it already needed refilling. Fortunately refilling is easy with the included funnel (the water tank is not removable).

    • Does it get pretty hot?

My current steam mop (twice the price as this) is disappointing because it doesn’t get very hot so I don’t feel it does a good job.

      Thanks!

      • +2

I did not touch it as it seemed to be common sense, I assume it must get hot as it converts water to steam? You can hear it heat up as you turn it on, feels quite rapid. Better than the old karcher steamer I got some years back for way more at Bunnings. The oscillation helps a lot too I would say. By the end of the cleaning the pads were all black with dirt. Cleaned easy in the washing machine.

I have two young kids and cleaning the random stains off the floor (new ones everyday…) was very effortless. Gladly take this over a conventional mop and bucket any day of the week (was previously using the Bunnings vileda spin bucket and mop). This is so easy to use my 4 year old can manoeuvre it with ease.

        • Thanks but I meant simply walking over the area you’ve just steamed.

Some steam mops barely make the floor warm so was just wondering here.

          Cheers

          • @9674784: Ah

Nah floor isn’t hot at all
I was walking over it bare feet

On the same token , I wonder if the oscillation with the wet mop as well goes some way in cooling it down just as fast too?

            • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Ah ok so as a steam mop it is really weak then.

The professional one's the cleaners used in the retail store I used to work at made the floor too hot to touch.

The Bissell I have at home now that I thought wasn’t very hot, does feel a little warm if you touch the floor immediately.

It makes me wonder what the steam is even for with this one then. If the floors aren’t warm, it’s not doing its job as a steam mop at all.

                @9674784: Interesting
I’ll put my laser thermometer on the floor and mop next time I use it. Now you got me thinking.

Either way I actually am happy, lifted random stains very easy. Big QoL improvement in cleaning floor.

                • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Hey can I ask how wet the floor is after you use this? Do you generally have to wait a few minutes so it dries and is no longer slippery? If so, how long is the wait?

Also is this ok to use on floorboards?

                  • @Trishool: If you walk over it it straight away , it’s slippery for sure. I didn’t really time anything , but I felt it dried quite quickly , and it’s not like it was super windy that day.

When I used to mop with the vileda spin bucket mop I still would run my vornado after I finish the room to quickly dry it out. I didn’t have to do it with this.

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Thanks for this response Jimmy.

I was actually starting to wonder how dry this would leave the hardwood floors but I think from your responses, it can't be as bad as my Bissell Pet Sympthony that leaves the floor moist for a solid like half hour after..

                      Promising! Thanks!

@9674784: I mean as long as it's over 63.2C it's going to break down grease on the floor.

Steam cleanin the floor doesn't mean ur floors clean FYI

To kill germ's with steam, requires a constant temp kept on the bacteria, not just a passs over

far more effective just use some bleach or dettol if ur worried about the cleanliness

    Same price at Bing Lee

If you are able to C&C and have Unidays account, you can add something else to cart to reach $199 and get $25 off. Price will be $174 after coupon and you get whatever else for "free"

  • Does the one at Sharks website have LEDs? looks like it on the photos, except its $20 more.

    • As far as I know, all the ones here don't have them. The ones with LEDs are the overseas models.

  • +1

Anyone know if this works OK on glue-down vinyl plank flooring? A bit worried the steam might affect the glue…

    • Sounds not a great idea

      • Yeah thinking the same. Will pass and stick with the ol' mop n bucket :P

  • Is the RRP real? If it is, I should get one..

I hardly use my Bissell Pet Sympthony because it's soo damn heavy to use.. 😅

Wondering if this will work better/easier on hard floors. The spinny things looks like it will be easier on my arms/shoulders (think I'm recovering from a shoulder tear) to clean the floors whereas the Bissell I had to just go over some harder spots a few times and it takes its toll with such a bulky unit.

Edit: Bit the bullet! Bissell gets to retire to the more deep steam cleaning jobs on the carpet.

It’s usually $299 ish with big box stores - the rrp listed on Amazon is insane.

      • +4

Ohhh, nice! So still like a 40% or so discount. Not bard! <3

Thanks for the post OP! My arms/shoulders will thank you (sexually, if so desired).

  • Paid $450 for my tineco steam mop, currently $428

Not sure how different they are, but would've been nice to pocket the savings and buy the shark

    • +2

Yours vacuums as well, this is just spin steam

      • Yep didn't see that the shark doesn't have a dirty water tank. I'm very happy with mine, I just thought I paid a lot.

    • Be interested to know your thoughts on it. We have the cordless tineco floor one S5 pro vac mop but we need something heavier to get at our whole house of tiles. The S5 is good if you get at things quickly/regularly but looking for something a bit more heavy duty.

      • I specifically bought the corded one because I read about issues with batteries after a year or so.

Can't compare it directly but I use it on tiles and laminate flooring, and it cleans better than anything I've used before (regular mop and wet swiffer). Floor is extremely clean.

I run a robot vacuum first, otherwise the steam vacuum likes to ask to run the cleaning cycle too early.

        • Thanks for the info! Interesting. We've never had any battery problems or problems generally with it to be honest, it's more with a baby throwing things such as food, once it dries the vac mop isn't much use. I think the steam would sort that out. We've got a Dyson which we usually use first before mopping.

        • How long have you had the Tineco S5 for? All the reviews online state to avoid anything Tineco and specifically their wet/dry mop stuff for being terrible quality that dies just after warranty.

    • Yes, just bought this one as well, it is great!

  • +4

See jb got same price now if anyone using gc.

  • Any thoughts on this over Roborock Dyad?
BF will bring Roborock Dyad down to ~250$ with drying unit, this one doesn't have a drying unit so the brush will require a replacement fairly regularly since it will start smelling.

    • +1

Huh? The pads are literally stuck on with velcro. Just buy a dozen different pads and rotate them around when it gets dirty and pre soak and wash them.
Just don't leave the machine standing on heat sensitive floors when you are done cleaning because it will be still hot and will swell any wood floors you leave them on.
If you are dead set on having it stand dry, just change them straight out with a dry set and you are done.

  • Thanks OP, got one

  • Price seems good but I’ve gone deep looked at a lot of reviews saying this will take the shine out of your floors. Yikes, def don’t want this to happen. Almost bought it!

  • The RRP of 449 on Amazon is significantly inflated. A more realistic RRP would be 299.

  • Would this be suitable for tiles where the grout between them is around 5mm? Not sure if it's a concern on the pads catching on rough parts of the grout. Most pictures I've seen seem to have minimal width of grout between the tiles.

    Cheers.

    • +1

I don’t see why not. Worst case, you will have to use a different kind of pad that doesn’t have any fiber loops that may get caught. The moisture from the steaming would lubricate things a bit.

  • Thanks OP. Is using distilled water really necessary for this? Is Sydney tap water frowned upon for steamers or is it fine to use?

  • +1

    Super price OP.

I purchased mine for $199 from Harvey Norman several months ago as nobody else had it in stock locally or close to in price and it has exceeded expectations by both bringing the floors back to as new state and each room taking only five minutes to do.

Besides above performance, the low price, light weight and low noise versus high end Bissell, Tineco models was a deciding factor though I would choose those for anything heavy duty.

Also have cheap spare pads from third party amazon sellers.

Friends do prefer their automated robot mops over these but for those who prefer DIY and have time I highly recommend this product.

  • What does the ANZ stand for in the model number? Good guys have one without the ANZ

    • +2

I'm pretty confident that you will find that it will be the same model at the Good Guys. ANZ as in Australia and New Zealand.

  • +1

$179 at JB-Hifi and Good Guys as well for anyone who is still looking for one of these.

  • Clicked on price match on good guys portal. Price down to 174. 5% off gift card on rewardsgateway gets it around 166.

  • TGG also offering $30 90 Day StoreCash

  • Back in Stock at Amazon for backorder

  • I see there's some in stock again. Currently I'm using a regular mop and its just sooo much work lol. My robotvac sucks so I never use it. Is it worth buying this?

    • Got mine. Honestly it does do an ok job but worth it.. hmmm, not really. Can see us using it few times/year. Grout come up ok but still doesn't really get down into the grooves. Can see difference but not sure worth the $. Haven't tried on wood.
