Plenty of cheaper options (~$186.95-$187 after eBay code) from various sellers on eBay with code SAVETHG

      $184.95 with code "POP10".

      • +2

OP failed to mention this code initially. I negged based on the price that OP posted for

I have removed my neg because now it’s the cheapest currently obtainable for

  • +6

    $230-$60 cashrewards = $170

    • I can't see the $230 SIM on the Boost website?

    • +1

The only issue is that you have to activate within 30 days to get the cashback. At least that was the case when I checked last month.

  • Do we have to activate the SIMS with the "older" pricing by October 21 when prices go up?

    • No. The SIM is still valid until the expiry date that’s listed on the SIM

      • What is the Sim expiry on these ones - need to activate next year

      • Do you know if we get this SIM/plan, as it is no longer available from 22 October 2024, will we still be able to recharge at the same price 12 months later? My current catch plan doesnt expire until start of Jan 25 so I will activate this SIM then. Thank you

        • No, the $230 SIM will cease from Boost completely after 22 Oct

          • @BargainsGrabber: So we can't buy and use this SIM to activate the 12 month 160GB plan before 6 Jan 2025? If we can use it, we won't be able to recharge 12 months from when I activate?

            • @Travelling panda: I’m not sure which part you’re confused at.

As long as you buy a $230 SIM before 22 Oct, you have until the expiry date on the SIM to activate (in this case, 6 Jan 2025 as per OP’s description)

will we still be able to recharge at the same price 12 months later

Your original question asked about recharging after Jan 2025, which I assumed you meant the auto recharge on the app. This won’t be available after 22 Oct but if you pre buy the SIM card (port out and port back in before the SIM expiry) then you should be fine

              • @BargainsGrabber: Thanks, yes I understand that part. My original question was, will I be able to renew at $230 12 months later. Say I buy and activate this sim on 1 Jan 2025, so come 1 Jan 2026, will the renewal be $230…Or I will have to go up to the $300 plan? Thanks

  • Do you have to port out if you have an existing boost sim? Where do you guys normally port to

    • +5

Yes is the suggested. We do it to any non-Telstra MVNO or carrier. Usually just for the 1 day (let all their systems roll over). Then port back next day (or when the short term plan runs out). This has been the least fuss with highest reliability for us. YMMV.

  • Thanks OP, just got it for $184.95 with code POP10

Is there any issue porting from Telstra? I tried a few years back and after about an hour on the phone to Boost trying to get it ported I just gave up. Has the situation improved, or did I just get the new guy on a bad day?

    • Anyone? I would like to know this as well actually. Have multiple services that I need to move across from Telstra within the next week…

    • +2

Works fine. I contacted them via chat and they processed the transfer for me.

New SIM was active in less than 20min without issues.

Remember you can price beat by 5% at officeworks for this.

    • including ebay discount codes?

    • I tried two stores with Lucky Mobile. They don’t want to do it.

      • I got it first time and have multiple times here in Perth WA. i don't know why they wouldn't accept it as its not in their T&C that sim cards are not accepted?

        • They just say they can’t. It just didn’t feel worth it to argue with them.

  • Has anyone successfully used this as a recharge, rather than porting out and porting in? I see in the My Boost app there is an option to recharge via a voucher.
