Rated 9.4/10 by Cybershack https://cybershack.com.au/reviews/zyron-powaforce-100w-gan-5-charger-new-tech-charging/

"CyberShack’s view: The Zyron Powaforce 100W GaN 5 charger is excellent, especially if you can get it on sale.
GaN 5, four ports, combined 100W charging, Navitas chips and made in Vietnam by an Aussie company. It sounds pretty good to me.
You can sense Zyron’s enthusiasm (who picked that name?) in its approach to using the device for a review and its willingness to provide full specs—something so often overlooked by the big guys.
At the same time, we were reviewing the Anker 120W, 3-port Gan 5 (same chipset), and this Aussie offering held its own and was substantially lower cost. It gets our buy recommendation."

Can't speak to this exact product but I have a few different Zyron products now and they seem to be very high quality.

    • +1

I have this one. It really reduces the number of charging devices you have to take on a trips saving weight and bulk. And does not get as hot as my old satechi charger. And I paid more than this.
I haven’t bought more though as I am waiting for their new 140w charger. Which you can get on the waitlist for but I will wait for reviews

  • Would this be able to do full speed charging of a Pixel 9 Pro XL? It looks like Google have gone for high voltage low amperage charging via PPS so to get max speed you need a charger that can do 21 V/2.25 A.

I am only just learning about this today so I am not entirely sure how to read the specs on chargers like these.

    • Unsure, however it does support PPS 5-21V/5A charging based on Cybershack review, so maybe okay?

    • +1

The specs in the table state:

      3.3~16V3A, 3.3~21V2.5A (typo?)

      And also list:

      20V5A

      in another table. So yes.

      • Am I right in understanding that PPS can vary the voltage? So when it says a range of voltages it can do anything in that range at the amperage stated?

        • yep, in any case I think you'd be hard pressed to find a 100w charger that can't handle 21V 2.5A in single port mode.

          • @xmail: I have a 100W Baesus that I don' think is charging it at full speed. This one I think: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313738384127?chn=ps&_ul=AU&var=6…

Know any good apps to test charging speed?

            • @EBC: No idea, but you could get a 'pd trigger/decoy' device and a multi-meter + resistor. Or a usb device that measures volts/current as it passes through to your device. Or a pinecil.

  • 4 thick cables connected and the whole charger will probably wobble at slight pull and fall from wall

    • Not usually in my experience, but could happen I suppose. Would it depend on power point height and the weight of the cables?
My daughter just took one of these to Japan with a converter plug on the au plug. I expected she would have this kind of problem as it sticked further out but apparently not and it did not pull out.

    • +1

yeah that thing will be chunky sticking out from the wall socket. Why is that a thing?

    • To be fair they do have another version of this that it looks like it has a extension cable (and EU, UK, US, AU plug) - $20 more

New ones use one of those figure 8 connectors so maybe version in the link below has a design/technical flaw.

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Zyron-Charger-Travel-MacBook-Adapt…

      edit - nvm its a different product ; 4x USB-C rather then 2x USB-C and 2x USB-A in but then again 2x 65w USB-C and 2x 50w USB-C vs 2x 65w 2x12w

edit 2: one in OP is GaN 5 and one in my link is GaN3 - I got no idea anymore.

  • 'Zyron'. The name alone sounds so futuristic and sci-fi.

Powered By Navitas GanSense GaN 5 Gallium Nitride: Harness the power of the future with advanced Navitas GanSense GaN 5 chipset

The power of the future? Count me in.

Same price on Zyron website, but no stock. You can preorder and also use code SPRING20 to get additional 20% off, so it comes down to $47.99.

Just need to wait until 15th Sept for stock to return…

    • It's $79.99 or $63.99 after using voucher code on Zyron website

    • Looks like its been jacked up to $79.99? The reps must be on the look out in here. lol.

      • +2

I think may be @Gimpmonkee looked at an older model, a 3 port gan3 charger on the zyron website

        • +2

Yeah, got too excited and clearly didn't check it properly. Think I need to get my eyesight checked out

  • +1

    Any deal with travel adapter?

    • I don't think there are going to be many chargers like this with travel adapters.

I don't recall where I was reading this, but apparently having changeable plugs on high wattage chargers is a no no to get them certified.

140W and 67W on sale. 140W price valid till tomorrow.

      • Is the extension cable come with the 140W?

        • For preorders, yes. Today is the last day for preorders

          • @ibelievesyd: Ah right - I wasn't sure if it was included or not so I added to cart thinking it may come up as 0.00 if added together

            Can I refund the $11.99 on order # ZYR11786?

          • -2

@ibelievesyd: @ibelievesyd order placed for the 140w! any update on when you'll ship it out?

            • +1

@tommypickles: It will be dispatched soon. We are expecting stock next week.

  • +1

If I buy 2 of these, can I run them in SLI? Not sure how to plug them in to my motherboard though.

    • +1

      SLI? this isn't early 2000's.

      • I still have 2 X gtx670s in SLi

        • do you even get driver updates for those things?

      • He means crossfire.

  • I have this one bought at the same.price from their website few weeks ago. Overall good unit. No overheating. Nice premium carry case. It's a bit bulky but manageable.

AU plug only so need to bring a travel adaptor but I can live with it.

    Highly recommended

  • Shame it can't do 2 x 45w pd at once. Still these are good.

    • Powerpod 140W can
