Also checked out 2 stars and 3 stars commets.

A lot of them are saying the USB-C stops working after several months.

      Doesn't sound promising.

    • Thanks. I don't want to bring an unexpected fire hazard into my house

Of all the manufacturers out there, Anker is probably the best regarded. The main problem is they're so much more expensive than the cheap ones from AliExpress with the stupid brand names.

        • Even the best manufacturers make duds. This seems to be one of those products. Just like Samsung, they create good phones but the quality of some of their appliances isn't on par with other brands.

Ive had one of these for a long while now. Its worked fine. You get it for the tiny form factor while still being able to charge quickly.

I went with the 735 which is currently on amazon for $49

Warning. I bought one recently from Amazon, came home one day to the smell of burnt plastic, the charger had partially melted, nothing was plugged into it . Reported it to Amazon, they refunded me and told me to throw it away.

  • Have had it a while, it's fine.

  • I've got 2, no issues here.

I think no blew the fuse by mistake, but working again. So I think it's resettable

  • I also have one for a long time, no issues at all.

  • thanks bought 4

Possibly not really helpful, but I have the 735 version of this (2x USB-C ports) plugged in right in front of me in my office; I charge USB-C devices from it most of the day, including phones and laptops (Chromebooks). Hasn't missed a beat yet in 2 years.

I'm pretty tempted to buy this one because of the price but I don't really have a use case for only a single USB-C port - anywhere I'd use it I'd regret not having more ports!

    Recommend cable go with it?

  • Could this charge a laptop?

I don't think so. laptops usually require 65w or more.

I've charged my Surface with mine. Depends on the use case as well. As in it probably wouldn't be enough to use and charge a higher power laptop, but for me if something can at least charge it when it's off is still useful.

USB-C port by itself is 33W max, however, if USB-A port is also in use, then it drops to 20W and 12W.

20W would be too low, 33W can charge older MacBook, and newer M2/M3 MacBook Air. 8-Core GPU comes with 30W charger, 10-Core comes with 35W.

Windows laptop may require higher watts and this would not be suitable.

      Could this charge a laptop?

Not really, some laptops may trickle charge when powered off over several hours, but you can’t use this to charge or power a laptop while it is on. You’ll need a charger that can output 65W or higher on a single port to charge most Windows laptops. The Anker 735 was available for $45 just last week; I bought a second one after having used one for over a year. The 735 is amazing, the most compact 65W charger I've seen or used.

    • Depends on the laptop. My partner charges her Lenovo Yoga Slim 14 Pro with this exact charger. It gives a warning that it's a lower power charger plugged in, but it still effectively charges the laptop even while in use.

My 2019 HP X360 Spectre on the other hand if fussier with chargers and requires a minimum 45W PD charger (15Vx3A)
