Got ads for this whilst watching prime video.
Follow the link to tell them “a thing you did” and then they’ll email you a link to redeem a free Mars Bar.
Haven’t received the email with the freebie yet, but looks like to redeem you need to add to an Amazon AU order over $10.

How to Play:

  2. Read and agree to the terms and conditions, then submit your answer
  3. See your results and claim a free MARS® bar if your activity qualifies as a THING

This Offer is valid only for customers 18 years or older that have either, (i) received an email from Amazon AU congratulating them on “That Thing They Did” which contains the promo code and confirms the customer’s completion of a Qualifying Thing; or (ii) engaged with the Offer’s AI powered page (“AI Tool”) at www.amazon.com.au/mars and followed the steps required to submit an entry for a Qualifying Thing, with each (i) and (ii) determined in Amazon AU’s sole discretion.

This Offer ends at 11.59pm (Sydney time) on 12 October 2024. The promo code to redeem a Mars bar in a future Eligible Order will expire at 11.59pm (Sydney time) on 19 October 2024.

An "Eligible Order" is a purchase at Amazon.com.au or in the Amazon App of any items sold and shipped by Amazon AU exceeding $10 but excludes (i) certain large items shipped on their own that are sold and shipped by Amazon AU (ii) products sold by third party sellers (including Amazon US, Amazon UK, Amazon Germany or Amazon Japan even if fulfilled by Amazon AU), (iii) digital purchases such as e-books, (iv) subscriptions such as Prime video and audible, (v) gift cards and (vi) postage or delivery rates.

If a customer does not add the promo code to their Cart, the Offer will not apply. This Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. This Offer cannot be used on pre-existing orders. This Offer does not apply to orders placed with 1-Click. This Offer is subject to availability and may be withdrawn or amended without notice. This Offer is not redeemable for cash. This Offer is non-transferable and may not be resold.

This Offer and the promo code can only be redeemed once per customer. The Offer is not available to customers who submit a Qualifying Thing on the AI Tool after receiving an email from Amazon AU which contains the promo code. The Offer is customer specific and cannot be passed on or shared.

Mod: 11/9 - No sign of the deal working, 8 days later. The IDIDATHING code was received by some, however it does not apply at checkout when adding the item with another Amazon AU item over $10. Please re-post the deal if it does become available in the future.

    I deliberately didn’t enter because my personal details are worth more than a Mars bar, yet I got the email saying a did a Thing.

    I’m an active Amazon customer, so the only explanation is that Amazon has just randomly awarded this to their customers.

      Haha, thank you for posting this. I was inspired by your post and I contacted Amazon and told them I never received the promo and that someone online said they got a $10 credit.

      So the next thing they do… offered me a $10 credit as well. Nice…

        Same. About an hour on chat (multitasking) for zero outcome.

        If I had the energy and I thought it would actually do something then I'd send this off to some sort of regulator.

        'promoting' a thing, getting email addresses etc. and never intending to actually to implement it etc.

        Guinness did the same thing. Promotion based on phone location, easily hacked and legitimate entries received zilch

    It turns out that it will only work if you spend $10 on items listed here. Not just on any Amazon AU items. So:

    (1) Add https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09BKM4NBQ/ to cart
    (2) Spend $10 on items here https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/browse.html?node=26310965051
    (3) Use coupon IDIDATHING at checkout. It will reduce order by $2.20 (cost of mars).

    You successfully applied the promotional code to the order.
