$200 Pepsi? Bloody supermarkets price gouging

      Hilarious 🥱

  • Noticed the new small seconds Bambino are an ok price as well. $326 in 2 colour variants.

    • Links?

  • There is no warranty agent for Orient in Australia. You might be lucky. I got two duds in a row.

This purchase is through Amazon AU so they would have to deal with any warranty claims.

      What was wrong with it?

        Neeeerrrrd !

  • Thanks, reminded me I wanted a Pepsi so grabbed a Seiko 5 Sports SRPD53K

  • I initially bought the watch based on the size listed as 40mm, but then I noticed the description says it's actually 41.5mm.
Oh well, I’ll try it on when it arrives and see how it fits.

It's pretty small on the wrist. Not too overwhelming

    • Wears well, not bulky.

    • Got the watch, very nice. Love it.

    Great watch. Love the bezel.

As extra 100$ can get you into the Orient kamasu / mako II or III with Sapphire glass. I have the Kamasu 3 with the longer minute hand that touches the indices.

Note, the loom on the Orient is not that great.

Alternatives would include the citizen promaster series. Similar, but 60 click bezel and Australian warranty.

Pay more, and you'd be at the fugu or Seiko prospex, entry but no Sapphire.

    • Fugus have sapphire - or, at least, they did. Annoyingly, the new LE Fugu models, which have some interesting colourways amongst them, have reverted to a mineral crystal.

      • Say it ain't so Joe!

Update : They are indeed :(

Might need to save for the all black fugu

        • On further digging there is a lack of clarity - pardon the pun - about it. I've seen references to both sapphire and mineral for the new Fugus, and indeed Citizen Australia's own listing has it both ways:

          In the product description:

This watch includes a 3-piece, 42mm case, anti-reflective sapphire crystal

Note that this specifically mentions the new 42mm size - the previous models were all 44mm - so it isn't necesssarily a straight copy-paste from other models.

          but in the specs

          Glass Mineral Crystal

          https://www.citizenwatches.com.au/products/ny0164-65x

So I think we need to wait for them to show up in reviews where they have a testing pen to know for sure.

Either way I can see myself getting the NY0164-65X in due course, I've already seen a video of the real watch and it is definitely an interesting copper colour and not the brownish of the official renders.
