Walked by the section and saw these on half off again. Bought some different ones from Coles but kids prefer the woolies one instead.
Enjoy

Honestly this stuff tastes pretty foul (not fowl).
They used to be “ok”, like as a cheap and lazy “whatever” meal, then they went up in price and down in flavour
Shrunk in size too.
@MiscOzB: they're awful
you are better off getting chicken pieces like $4.50 drumsticks and just cooking those
And only avaialble at half the stores.
Not stocked at (useless) Woollies Metro
The cheapest price was $1.30 but it is close enough.
They used to be $1 when half price…
When?
A few years ago now.
@MiscOzB: Inflation…
That's a nice bargain for those who can grab it. Cheers op.
I did. I am just eating them.
I hope you cooked them first
Sure!
Its not a bargain it used to cheaper just an year back. And it always goes on half price every now and then.
I like the idea that Chicken Kiev has become Chicken Kyiv. Slava Ukraini
Chicken Kiev from Aldi tastes better..
You should go and fight then
It will always be Chicken Kiev to me. Stop being politically correct.
always курица по-киевски for me
I find the constant assault on established anglicisations incredibly offensive. Everybody can say Kiev correctly, which is an imperfect transliteration of the Russian place name. Everybody could say Turkey correctly. Nobody has a clue how to say Turkey-yay or Keev (frankly we can’t even pronounce the necessary phonics). You don’t see us bitching to China about 澳大利亚 and telling them to get it right and say A U S T R A L I A.
Lastly, chicken Kiev is a Russian dish, not a Ukrainian dish. Therefore, it should use the Russian name, not the Ukrainian name.
Relax….my 4 year old asks at the service deli for " 3 Kevin's thanks".
She is correct.
She loves her little butter packets of rubber!
Cute anecdote.
Yes it is a Kiev Chicken…. or Киев to sound right…
Don't use things like facts and logic. You'll confuse the poor things.
This product is a fake chicken Kiev or Kyev wherever it originated.
The Kiev cut of chicken is a breast fillet with the mini drum (first part of wing) connected. I used to be a stock controller at a well known poultry company. What you see here is not a fillet, but a reformed chicken burger type thing with garlic butter. False advertising?
Fair price considering the current situation, might be getting cheaper further.
Had one of these last time they were half off a month or two ago. Horrible spongey chicken, filling doesn't taste good, wouldn't buy again.
Processed
But cheap.
Processed chicken can be alright tho, but these kiev's in particular aren't good
Absolutely
there's 600,000 russians dead so i mean… the ukrainians cant be doing that bad…
Sure if we're to belive western mainstream media…not 🤣

Reality… Russia and Ukraine were fine neighbors until some F wit decided to make em fight.
The most simple solution seems to be remove the F wit…
A couple of these bad boys might do it!
Seems you forgot about a malaysia airplane getting shot over in 2014. The war has been going on for years
And you believe your peyrol cost $2.20 a litre because of Putin.
Disgusting fake product
Better off buying a decent one from a butcher. They are immensely better.
and immensely more costly too!
Yeah, these are only good for filling up on, and only at this cheap price. Not great, and far from "real" chicken
I make an amazing fresh snitzel. We don’t mind this when feeling lazy and at this price it’s super cheap.
You're supposed to beat your chicken, not choke it.
F me Satan im coming to you, cancer hug me! 🥰

If the breadcrumb looks orange/yellow best to avoid.
Same for pies.
Flour/breadcrumb isn’t that colour. Why are yellow pies so bad?
Cheap/low quality shortening in the pastry
Which parts of this are cancer inducing?
All of them man. Cancer is everywhere and it's going to get you.
I swear these used to be better than they currently are. They've always been processed "chicken" but I could swear the filling was decent. Now it's so watery.
You are correct.
Do try their chicken schnitzel for $1.4 during special. I feel the schnitzels are better.
If only people took the time to cut a full chicken there is some much more savings to be made, or at least how to debone chicken drumsticks, Bobs your uncle! 🤓
This always upsets my stomach for some reason. Literally every single time and hence have stopped buying it. Anyone else had similar experiences?
If you cook these upside down and on a piece of bread the filling doesn’t leak as much and you get a bonus piece of garlic bread.
My local had the tray going for an extra 20% off and the lady said still good for 2 days. She ended up charging it at 50% off :) (4 for $3)
As someone who eats a lot of processed foods I struggle with this type of processed chicken…honestly does it not seem like a kitchen sponge to anyone else?
Yeah, like chicken flavoured fried tofu. I'd prefer to just have the tofu.
Prefer the frozen Kiev's that use real chicken - tend to crisp up better. Ones from Aldi are pretty good but more expensive.
Or get ones from a local butcher, tend to be more expensive but also bigger but don't crisp up as good as frozen ones.
Are these the same as the ones that Woolies sells in the 4 pack or are they different?
Foodland have Ingham Chicken version for $1.60 this week
They are equally terrible. Just slightly bigger.
That’s fair, only half of it is chicken
