  • The picture looks like a pack of haemorrhoid cream. Just saying.

    • +1

It does help your haemorrhoid by making you go out and walk & shoot rather than sitting idle for long. By-products are your photos.

How many here turn the laundry into a darkroom back in the days

  • Would love to try Portra 400 but it's just such a hard sell when Gold 200 is $15-17.

    • where do you get your gold from?

      • +2

At the moment the cheapest prices for a few different films seem to be from this store:
        https://ikigaifilmlab.com.au/store/kodak-gold-200-35mm-film-…

That link is Fuji but it's apparently just rebranded Gold 200.

      • And besides Ikigai, I would keep an eye on digiDirect's eBay for Fujifilm 200 (currently OOS but who knows…). They sometimes do 15-20% off codes.

    • I'd grab just a few 400 and use them only when shooting portraits. Otherwise, sticky to Gold. That badass can be rated at ISO 800 without much loss!

    • Portra for portraits was so good, quite a large difference from gold (comparing the results from both from decades ago, not sure if anything has changed since).

  • Holy Batman that's expensive.

Just did some googling and my go to stuff like Provia100F and Velvia 50 is $30-35 a roll. Insane. I remember bulk buying packs of 20 off eBay 20 years ago for like $7-8 a roll.

    • It's gone mad after COVID. Welcome to the era of reduced production.
