YouTube Premium Options?

My Ukrainian YT Premium account has sadly been found out. Before that I was using a yearly Indian plan until they required a local payment method.
Is there a new method/country that can be used? Is it down to crowdsourcing family plans, and if so are any people interested in joining one?

Full disclosure I would be happy to pay proper prices for YT Premium if they offered a tier that just got rid of ads! I'm not interested in their music offering or their 'exclusive' content, I just don't want ads. And since that is all the value I derive from it, paying $17 a month is more than I can justify.

      • No.

        • Ytliteplus doesnt exist when i search on appstore

I normally just buy a 12 month sub from www.g2a.com for $50 or less.

    • Didn't know that. 😊 Thank you

      • Let me know if it works lol

    • Thanks for the tip, do they offer any recourse if issues arise with the account?

      • There shouldn't be any issues since it's a global key

How does this work? Looking at the FAQ, it's not premium on your account but they give you a YT account with premium that you log into?

      • Yeah, not ideal:

Notice! This product is an account NOT a digital code and it cannot be activated on an existing YouTube account. This is a unique account for one customer only.

After completing the purchase you will receive login, password to Youtube account.

It is advisable to start using your account immediately after purchase because the duration of usage is limited by the number of days you wait for activation

There are some countries which YT still has no ads. You just need to find them out, google is your friend.

  • Did the russian dob you in ?

  • For those who got cancelled, did your google account get banned or just the Youtube account is reverted to free?

    • +2

My subscription was cancelled, and I got the option to sign-up again with the Australian subscription. My account was not banned.

    • Not banned. Just did not renew. I am now with gamsgo as part of a family membership and it is working well for me.

  • We are getting played.

They allow us to subscribe for peanuts for a few years to YouTube, Office 365, Adobe etc

Then we get dependent on these services and that’s when they slowly tighten the grip on the cheapest countries and gradually get more and more money from us by allowing slightly more expensive countries at each increment.

    The house always wins….

    Just got an email today:

YouTube Premium memberships based in Pakistan require a form of payment issued in Pakistan.
To maintain your membership, please update your form of payment to one issued in Pakistan before 11 October 2024. If you do not update your form of payment, your membership will not renew automatically and you will lose access to your YouTube Premium benefits.

Seems the big G won't be getting any more funds from me.

Any recommendations for Youtube Music? I have yet to try Revanced with it so I'll see how that goes.

    • Same situation here.

    • Same here, my YT Premium Pakistan just ended yesterday. Was just using YT and suddenly saw ads lol. Checked the family primary account and realised there was an email sent a month ago.

    • Got this too.

      Next billing date: Sep 24

So I'm going to pay Sep 24 for a month worth of service, and then on Oct 11 it will deactivate my auto renewal but I will still have it until Oct 24th?

Not sure if this will help anyone but I was kicked off YT family Turkish plan today.

I managed to successfully sign back up to an individual plan at 75.99TRY/month by using my Turkish Apple account and signing up via the YT Music app. This uses preloaded credit from my Turkish Apple account which has been loaded up via giftcards at Turgame. Cant be bothered writing a full tutorial but i'm sure others can!

    • Thank you, this works. Same method as Disney+ Turkish plan as per ISP's bargain post

    • +9

Thank you sir! this worked, just a bit more info for those who needs.
Setup up a new apple account and set country to turkey
buy an apple store gift card from turgame - i also use a virtual CC like revolut etc
set apps store purchase account to the turkey account (can be done on phone or any apple device)
add the giftcard into the apple purchase account on your phone
turn on VPN to turkey - I use free VPN on IOS (make you watch ads)
go to you tube music to subscribe - BUT MAKE SURE YOU subscribe youtube premium (individual or family)
      DONE

      • +2

No VPN required for me, but all the other steps were the same.

        • +1

possibly, I had it on but not sure if required or not, great to know that we don't need VPN - so hard to find a free working VPN these days

      • How about android user?

ps: nvm I got an Ipad, will give this a try

      • How long did it take for your Turgame card to come through? I've been waiting for a couple of hours and it's still stuck in 'Processing'

        • I have had some come within a couple of mins, others 30 odd mins ish

      • Anyone else getting an error trying to set up an Apple account in Turkey? I'm getting this error:

"Your request could not be completed at this time.
Your account cannot be created at this time."

I tried Australian ISP, a few other countries via VPN and hotspotting via my mobile, but no luck

        • Get it working yet?

      • Worked for me, thanks for the instructions.

Thanks! Confirmed working here for a family account.

      Kicked out today from Turkey.

Managed to subscribe with apple Turkish too.

Although the price now include apple tax (ard 30%)

      Previous try 115.99 = AUD 4.99

      Now try 149.99 = AUD 6.46

      For family acc

      • +1

Thanks, also confirmed working on Family Plan for 149.99 TRY on my end . As long as you have the Turkish Apple account with appropriate credit i.e. Turkish apple giftcards loaded up from Turgame, you can use the YT account that has family manager enabled to sign into the YT app or YT music app and then sign up for the family plan.

        • Can you please explain that last part? I don't understand how the Turkish Apple account links to the family manager.

          • +3

@gentlekoala5906: Create or login to your iOS device with your Turkish Apple account. Make sure the Apple account is loaded up with turkish apple credit, can purchase the giftcards from turgame.

Sign into the YT app or YT music app with your google account that is the family manager, if you're wanting a family membership at 149.99 TRY. If you want an individual membership then just sign in with your normal account.

The Apple Turkish account and your Google account arent linked, the charges are just paid from your Turkish Apple account's credit.

            Hope that makes sense.

            • @Lukey90: Thanks bro makes sense 🙏

            • @Lukey90: Hi I didn't stock apple credit before the payment date. after I added the credit it's not allowing me to pay with apple credit but only to add a turkish card.. Will the revolut card solve the problem? Thank you in advance..

            • @Lukey90: Just to be clear, you only need to be logged into the Apple App Store with Turkish account, your main Aus account can stay logged into the rest fo the phone/tablet.

        • With this option, do you need to "leave" the family with all of your accounts that have previously been using turkey, and then add them to your new (via apple) family you make? I currently have a dummy gmail account as my "family manager" and then my, my wifes and my sons gmails as the family members. Do i need to move all three of us over to the new apple created accounts family? Hope that makes sense!

          • @JuryWheel: I can confirm that you don't need to "leave" the family or anything. Just use the same email address as the Google family manager when setting up the Turkey Apple ID. Once the payment goes through, everyone on your family account will have access to YouTube premium again.

        • I managed to subscriped the Family Plan for TRY 149.99, but when I try to add family member, it keeps saying Can't join due to you're not in the same country as the person who invted you. I tried 2 google account with the payment profile with country from Australia or Turkey but still not successful. Which A/C country setting does youtube try to match (Apple ID? ) ?

          • @stopbuying: The accounts must have payments profiles from the same country of the main member, and ONLY from that country.

        • Coming from India YT family account, membership cancelled.
Have created Turkey Apple Account and loaded with TRY credit (via iPad)
Signed in Apple App store with new Turkey Apple Account.
But after signing in YT Music with family manager, still seeing AUD 42.99 per month in Settings > Paid Memberships > Inactive Memberships

Have also tried using Free VPN to Turkey but still seeing AUD pricing :-(

          Any tips?

          • +1

@hsf: do you have any payments in your profile? sometimes if you have an australian based payment option already, it wont let you "leave" that country.

            • @JuryWheel: @JuryWheel Thanks for the suggestion. Tried removing australian based payment on the main YT family manager account. Re-tried on iPad but didn't seem to work. I wonder if this only works if I had a Turkey YT membership already and not India.

              • @hsf: @JuryWheel - I was finally able to get it to work tonight. I had to reboot my iPad!
After that I turned on VPN to Turkey (not sure if needed)
Went into YouTube Music and Settings > Purchases and memberships
And instead of AUD saw the TRY pricing and paid via Apple Pay. Hooray.

Thanks everyone for the steps, it really helped.
                Good luck with your migrations.

                • @hsf: Did you have to delete the Indian profile from your family manger account? Or create a new Turkish profile?

I also need to migrate from India to Turkey.

After juggle through my old and slow iPad I finally managed to get this done. Confirm this work! TRY149.99 (~AUD6.46)/month family plan successfully subscribed. Thanks a lot!

Thank you @Lukey90 and @zerochill for the detailed instructions! It worked for me today :)

    • Thanks mate! This worked perfectly. I was on Philippines family and got the email to change to local payment method yesterday. I already had a Turkey Apple ID ( for Disney+, NBA and iCloud) and all I had to do was sign out of my Australian Apple ID and into Turkey ID on iPhone and sign up via YouTube Music app. I still had a few weeks left on my Philippines plan but it seems like it subscribed instantly to the new turkey subscription via Apple subscription. The entire family moved to the new plan so there was no need to remove/add members. Great result - thanks again!

  • Just got kicked off Youtube Pakistan. Will give the turkey one above a try.

How long does it take for the itunes gift cards to come through from tur games

  • I tried creating a new apple account for turkey, put in the turgame credit, but apple won’t let me use my new account until my payment details have been reviewed, which requires me to have a turkey credit card or phone number. How did you guys get around this?

    • Used that random address generator for turkey. That had address and phone number.

      • it asks for phone verification, how did you bypass this?

  • So anyone have any luck getting a cheap family plan yet, or is the apple method the only one that seems to work?

    • VPN trick still works, need to try a different country though

      • Which country worked for you? I just got kicked out of Pakistan

  • Guys, do I need to update my payment method to Apple giftcard in YT once I have loaded my Turkish Apple account with giftcard??

  • How do you verify your phone number? Does it need to be a new number or can it be one that has been linked to another account? I've tried using my number and at the verification screen I click continue but then nothing happens.

Got an email yesterday about my Urkanian account to provide a Ukrainian issued payment method.

Looks like I'm uprooting the family again - just when the kids made some friends as well.

  • +3

Just to provide update - I tried a whole bunch of VPN from cheapest one by one down to one that actually let me use my australian card (Bendigo Bank Ready, but I'm confident any aussie card will work too, just make sure no foreign transaction fee). Ended up with Algeria which is DZD 1,549.00 for family = ~$17.58 AUD. Not as good as Argentina, Turkey, India, Mexico etc but better than the $33 they wanna charge for Australia.

I don't have iOS to try out the gift card method that someone mentioned but sounds like that will be cheaper for those who have access.

I just received the dreaded email for my YouTube Premium Argentine account…

I use it for YouTube videos but also for music (YouTube Music app on my phone), so I actually use the subscription daily.

However, after stressing, researching and really thinking about it… I think I'm just not going to have a subscription at all. I'm not dependent on YouTube videos or the music either (famous last words… but we'll see… I'm sure I can use something like Revanced if I really want to watch a particular video).

It's better for my bank account anyway, particularly in these tough economic times, and it's also probably a timely reminder to review all my subscriptions with Christmas fast approaching and all!
