How Much Would It Cost to Rent a Stall Space in a Westfield Shopping Centre?

Anyone have experience in running one of those kiosks/stalls in a shopping centre? Id guess you could rent a 2x2m space.

Call them, I am pretty sure Westfield Bondi stall price is different from Westfield at Blacktown (If there is any).

Westfield did originate in Blacktown, but there's no Westfield there (there's a Westpoint but not sure if that's Westfield rebranded)

I once worked for a business that leases a lot of spaces like this. Feel free to DM me about it if you have specific questions.

All i'll say is that Westfield will tell you the price is way more than what it actually is, and you will end up losing significant amounts of money if you agree to the prices they present you with.

It varies wildly depending on both the shopping center, length of tenancy and time of year.
November and December are the worst, and you'll struggle to negotiate with just one store.
Outside of this time, you'll have a bit more movement.

I would strongly recommend scoping out locations and doing traffic counts over a 2 minute period to understand how many people actually pass through a specific location as they will try to push you into a terrible location, in which you'll lose even more money.

    • Thanks, some good insight. Makes sense there are many variables. Just an idea at the moment.

Is it even possible to rent a 2m x 2m space at Westfield? You take up maybe 1m along with the cash register, etc, so that leaves three square metres for whatever you're selling.

    • Just an example size, cash less businesses can have pretty minimal set ups.

Near the entrance/exit to the food court is best.

  • you'll have to share your space with the InstaChill shills

  • there's a salvos at knox westfield, its a massive store. How do they cover the rental on those stores?

      Have you seen their prices?

    • Staffing no doubt is low cost @ Salvos

    • charities get all sorts of discounts and tax breaks for being a charity. Then the items theyre selling are probably donated or cheap liquidated stock and most of the non managerial staff are volunteers.

These are some rates i was offered at Macquarie Centre (north ryde) as a pop-store.. Time was from Oct-Dec (Christmas lead in) last year.. From memory in front of the big-w

    Offer 1: 12 Weeks
    - Weekly rate: $1,800 per week exc outgoings +GST
    Offer 2: 6-8 Weeks
    - Weekly Rate: $2,100 per week exc outgoings + GST
    Offer 3: 4 Weeks
    - Weekly Rate: $2,500 per week exc outgoings + GST

Outgoings were $35 p/w.. They were willing to budge on these numbers, but i didnt follow up..

    Good luck
