Have long been searching for an alternative to the relatively expensive foil drip tray liners. Various models of the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill have a drip pan of the same dimensions and Infraovens via Amazon does a reusable silicone liner. Fits my Genesis perfectly. Are there any better options?
Tip for Owners of Weber Q, Pulse, Spirit, Spirit II, Genesis, Genesis II/LX 200 and 300 Series Barbecues

same - and i cook a LOT of lamb chops so swapping out the alfoil super frequently.
didnt make sense cost wise to use get the proper trays, which i couldnt find a generic to fit properly anyyway - and silicone didnt make sense as it was such a pain in the ass to wash properly , and not accidentally cause all the fats to clog up in the pipes of the sink.I prefer to leave it be until it becomes part of an expansive grill fire
just watch out not to singe eyebrows
@Jimothy Wongingtons: I have my Genesis next to a garden hose. With the silicone, won't I be able to just scrape out into a waste bin?
@sumyungguy: I didn’t neg you
But surely there’s heaps of oil residue left?Plus if you did that in QLD that’s just asking for flies swarming….
@Jimothy Wongingtons: Mine gets filled with black greasy ash, not so much oily. With so many dogs and cats in my 'hood bbq drip tray is the last place the flies are looking to breed. Silicone could just go in the dishwasher?
@jv: 🤨
I got these for my Q.
I use this on my Weber Q
https://www.coles.com.au/product/coles-bbq-aluminium-small-t…me too. They're too narrow, so just bend the sides out to catch all the juicy grease!
Maybe I am not cooking the right (wrong) things, but I've only changed trays twice in the past six months. At least weekly use.
The grease does eat through the alumnium from my knowledge, maybe your not cooking with fatty products so don't have that issue.
I'm not sure how grease can eat through aluminium?
(Sausages, steaks, all the usual BBQ stuff)
I clean my (heated) grill with a wet scourer sponge when I next go to use it, so the drip tray ends up with a mixture of fat and water. If I use aluminium liners they always end up with holes.
You know what thats a really good question and I have never bothered to think about it.
On my baby q I did have oil/grease below the bottom of the tray and maybe thought some acid had eaten through it.
But maybe It just had seeped around it.
I'll redact my statement as above lol

Oh, I definitely had grease below the tray, but that's because I let it overflow terribly the first time.
I just use alfoil doubled
