Dam! I remember when these were less than $100 delivered and that was not so long ago

    • +15

Based on how faded my CT work shirts are now… i would say it was long ago :(.

      • I'm still wearing my blue one i bought in 2019. It does look faded but oh well

    • +2

I bought a whole bunch of TML shirts to last me a lifetime for 3 for $100 delivered, before they went bankcrupt.

      • +7

TML was definitely better quality in both the silhouette and material, RIP

        • I haven't tried them again, but based on the emails they have started sending again recently, TML is back in Aus. Looks to be back to online only, shipped from UK.

        • I agree TML fit is better, IMO material is on par. And CT has brass collar stays vs TML plastic.

          • @sav11: Depends on the CT fabric, it varies by shirt type, some were so poor I exchanged for others

      • I didn't even know they went bankrupt :o

    • It was precovid in 2019, which is 5yrs ago~~

    • that was not so long ago

      When?

  • Love their shirts but the cuffs come apart after a few years of washing. The rest of their stitching is quality.

    • +5

Interesting. I have around 10 of their shirts, some as old as 8 years old I believe and have not done that. I rate these over all others I've tried. My wear, when they do finally go is at the fold in the collar.

      • +1

Same here! Collar starts to disintegrate at the fold. But started to run lower spin cycles and temps and that has now been resolved

        • I wear these for work with a company logo put on it. I find they do shrink a little and the collar starts to curl after 6 months or so

        • +1

Yeah I've always washed cold cycle, though max spin 1200rpm. And use the netted laundry bags. Front loader. always quick 30 min or so wash times, hang, never dry (don't own dryer)

          • +3

            @dainese:

            never dry

Shame you are always wearing a wet shirt.
            😅
Should try wearing a dry one when you can, hige difference

            • @0806449: Haha So much more weight!

            • +5

@0806449: Somebody in the office said she loved the Pride and Prejudice scene with Mr Darcy emerging soaking wet from the lake and he's been turning up dripping wet ever since. She's not noticed him yet :-(

            • @0806449: Can't see sweat patches if there's no dryness for them to patch!

  • +3

The price increase is a shame. Not the value they used to be.

  • Anyone got experience with these polos vs Rodd and Gunn polo?

    • +1

I would also like to know!

      • +2

Other than the obnoxiously loud logo, I’ve been quite impressed with superdry polo, got a black one that’s been through the wash and the dryer a quite a few times now and it’s still held shape and colour very well. Whereas the black Rodd and gunn one is fading around parts and the collar has gone a bit funny even with ironing. Strangely, the blue and grey Rodd and gun ones have held up way better.

        • oh god your right, lol, those logos are horrible

          • @hrmmUsername: Some designs or colour combos are slightly less in your face - while some others especially ones like bright yellow and red are crazy obnoxious lol

Very complementary fit on the biceps and chest though I felt.

        • +2

Why I hate Superdry so much. Some of their clothing designs are nice, but goodness me I don't need to be a walking billboard.

    • +1

Interested to know as well. Rodd are great goto polos, usually have the multibuy deals on all year I think.

PS.i think TM Lewin shirts were better, good when there was a store and 3 for 99$ deals.

    • +1

I had a couple of Rodd and Gunn polo's - one stretched and one shrunk….strange

      • +1

Yeah the quality control is a bit shit but they guarantee it, so just take back with a year or two and swap perhaps.

    • +1

The Rodd and Gunn polos I bought 5-6 years ago were crap. They went to the bin after maybe 12 months. I don't know if the quality has improved, but I wouldn't buy again.

    • +1

I've never had a Rodd and Gunn polo but I have a few CTW smart polos. The fabric is very nice, they fit very well and have not sagged after about 2 years of wear.

    • +1

Yeah, the CT polos are really long. I'm 5'10. Rodd and Gunn was fine.

      • yeah i will say, the rodd and gunn polo is JUST right.

  • +1

Yes strange, you seem to have click a specific link that comes up sometimes on a Google ad to get this offer. If you click through normally it doesn't pop up
Split a deal with my cousin the other week for 6 shirts, $270 with free delivery (over $199 free delivery)

  • -1

    Is this available in-store?

    • +1

… what store? I thought it’s online only in Australia

      • +5

He's flying to London. That'll be 4 shirts for £149.

  • +3

That's $51.66 for each shirt delivered if you buy 3. Great shirts, and long(ish) lasting if taken care of, but no longer a 'bargain' IMO.

    • Got an alternative that's better value?

      • +2

        uniqlo shirts when on sale

        • Fair enough. Tried on a few in store a while ago and wasn't a huge fan, much prefer the feel of the CT shirts.

        • +4

CT shirts have more structure and usually heavier fabric. Uniqlo is great but I wouldn't say better than CT for business shirts.

        • Uniqlo seemed to have moved (some or all) production to Vietnam and the quality has really gone downhill.

        • +1

Uniqlo shirts are mass market and for me fits too loose even in slim fit.
CT lets you choose sleeve length for a better fit

At this price its not a real bargain, but its good quality for the price

          • @0806449: How do you choose sleeve lenght?

            • @Kobe24: I think their website has how its measured.
It is from the centre of the shirt down the sleeve

  • +2

This has been going a while but yeah good deal imo, the quality of the shirts is good. Like @ericshurn says it can be hard to find, but should pop up with some googling. Shipping isn't the fastest, my recent order was "shipped" on the 21st but only started moving yesterday.

  • +2

5 is $225. I bought some last night. $45 a piece. I normally bite when it goes under $50 a shirt.

  • As mentioned in many other CT deals
Imo now they’re more pricy I’d rather pay a little more for a fully custom/made to measure fitted shirt
Can be had for $65 + postage

    • +1

      From where?

      • There are a number of MtoM places out there, but I can't seem to find a decent one with non-iron material

        • +1

Even non-iron needs an iron for corporate shirt imo

      • I’ve had plenty of shirts from pickashirt and the fit has always been exceptional (I entered the measurements I had of a more expensive custom fitted shirt) and never been unhappy with the quality
        Lots of customisation options too.
They put some fabrics on sale too (copped two white shirts for $48 ea last year)

I’ve had CT shirts before and they were an ordinary fit on me (tall and slim, even when choosing the slimmest fit) and same quality (pickashirt you can obviously customise much more, collar thickness etc)

    • +5

      Links or it didn't happen

      • Comment above on pickashirt
Feel like I should work out some kinda affiliate deal lol

    • +1

      Where sir?

      • Comment above on pickashirt
Feel like I should work out some kinda affiliate deal lol

    • Yeah and for poorer quality fabric and construction!

    • Where?

      • Comment above on pickashirt
Feel like I should work out some kinda affiliate deal lol

  • Postage sadly makes them about the same as marks and Spencers and a few other brands can get from UK

    • M&S is far below the quality of CT Shirts.

  • +1

How do these fit for those of us that have a bit of a beer gut? (yes, I realise I need to work on getting rid of that - it is a WIP)

    • +3

Regular slim fit and classic fit is fine usually.

      • okay cool, thanks mate

  • in one of the other posted deals was a promo link in the comments, for the life of me I can't find it, but I just ordered last week 5 for $225 delivered — i got auspost email saying its arriving today

  • +1

    These are excellent quality shirts.

  • +1

Used to be $95 + free shipping for 3 shirts. A huge price increase in last 3-4 years.

    • +1

I recall those prices being pre pandemic, I’ve ordered a couple of times with that deal. It’s 2024 so that’s more like 5 years ago. I think it’s a reasonable price increase, given inflation etc.

My old CT shirts don’t fit well anymore (bulked up), going to order some more. Really good quality.

  • i did this deal and for some reason theyve charged me $416….

    • they've honoured the 3 for $135 deal - just check your accounts if you do go for this deal…

  • +1

Great quality shirts, tempted to buy more but that will re-initiate them sending me catalogues and flyers in the post every fortnight.

    • +1

It feels like my mailbox permanently has a CT catalogue in there, the amount they spend on direct mail marketing is crazy!

  • Can anyone confirm the fitting? for mj bale shirts, the "athletic" fits are very nice on me, and was wondering whether i need to go extra slim for these ones or the slim ones are fine?

    • +2

Extra slim is the only fit that works for me without having extra billowy fabric.
I'm fairly slim but not really skinny.

      • +2

Me too I'm same as Pauly, I'm 180cm tall 82kg, I get extra slim fit and it fits well.

I remember advice from an old deal that:

        Extra slim fit = slim
        Slim fit = regular
Regular fit = a bit fat

        I just bought 3

    • Even the extra slim shirts can be a bit baggy if you're used to a tapered slim fit from MJ bale.

I would consider factoring the cost of getting it altered if going down this route.

    • Unless it's changed in the last couple of years, CT have the best return policy I've ever experienced, by far.

The first time I ordered I got a few different fits to try, then kept the best fit and returned the rest for replacements in correct size.

They give you a free return postage slip. And they express ship the replacements for free as soon as you post the returns, before they receive them.

  • is it better than MJ Bale shirts? i typically buy from MJBale outlet store between $30-$50

    • +1

YMMV of course. I find CT non iron shirts compare well against MJB 'dry n fly'. The 'poplin' weave fabric in particular, has also been pretty breathable if that matters to you.

I've found any CT L/S shirts other than 'poplin' to be hit and miss - some are great, and others feel like cheap tablecloth material.

    • I havent bought any CT for many years so I cannot comment on the current quality

For business shirts CT > MJ
Material, fit and cutting just overall better with CT

  • +1

When I go to that link, but with CR activated, I get sent to '3 Shirts or Polos $179'. Just something to be aware of when ordering.

  • I will stick to my bigw all good brand shirt.

If it's All Good, it's all good.

  • $100 for 3 10 years ago

  • I too yearn for the 3/$100 deal but considering Target shirts are $50 so this is a good deal. The bigger problem for me is that the fabrics never change.

  • Showing up as $179 for 3 / $59.66 per shirt when using code SPRING, when the banner clearly says 3 for $135 Any help?

Edit: the banner just changed and now says 3 for $179? did they just change this offer during the promo…..

    • +1

Open it incognito seems to help

  • where are they made?

I don't think anyone at Charles Tyrwhitt would've touched a needle and thread before.

    • "Designed in London" — made mostly in Vietnam for newer style business, business casual & polo's, some "older" styles from China (shirts I had from 2021) — chinos are also Vietnam

  • Are these for suits and tie? Or just casual shirts?

    • Suits/chinos. Tie or no tie.

  • Wow, everything is so expensive now. Over $50 for a shirt is a bargain.

  • do they allow change of mind returns?

  • Anywhere your can try these on in Aus? I've been bitten too many times by ordering stuff you wear without trying it.
