    WTF 😱

    • -1

Was in the featured deal but now replaced with the Razer keyboard for $80

      • Yeah, I saw it this morning but couldn't get the code to work.

      • +1

but code doesn't work for the keyboard

        • Live now.

    • Might come back later like the previous AZDOME Dashcam

      • I am not sure if I need it, already have similar 1080p with rear cam years ago from eBay Plus promo.

      • +1

Code is live now for the dashcam, only 15 quantities tho

    • What was the price on it? Showing available at $89.99 minus 10% KICKP10

  • +8

this PSVR2 buzz is getting me mighty tempted to throw together a racing sim…

    • +4

GT7 in VR with a racing rig is pretty great

    • +4

I am also using the PC adapter on Steam. It is fantastic.

      • +1

Can you play assetto corsa and other racing titles as well?

        • +2

Any VR titles should work. I had a freebie (Star Wars Squadron) on Epic (not steam) and it worked flawlessly. Steam VR works with the PSVR app

  • +3

Trust the Guffmen to jack up the price to eat into the discount.

  • +1

So with USB-C monitors, all I need is a USB-c to Display port cable? is this plug and play?

    • +1

No. I assume that you are connecting to the PC GPU? You need the Sony PSVR to PC adapter for $95 and a DP cable. Plus a decent BT5 USB (unless you have OB BT5)

      • +1

I assumed they were asking about the USB-C monitor deal?

        • +1

          I think so too

    • +1

It has support for USB-C, but it also has DisplayPort and HDMI.

I feel weaker and weaker seeing the VR2 price continuing to drop. Will be hard to resist if and when it’s below $450.

    • +5

It's a good thing as many ppl on FB are trying to flog off their PSVR2 for the same price new. Good bantering position now. If you don't mind a used one, you can get even more of a bargain. Got mine before the price drop for $400. Works flawlessly. Gave it a clean and all good.

    • What do you want to play with it?

  • -8

    Lame sale on the vr2.
Can get for less with cash rewards cashback at TGG
Or with 10% TCN and buy from JB.
Of course Gamesmen would raise the RRP only to add a discount bringing it almost to the standard price

    • +1

Maybe ive been out of the loop recently but The Gamesmen have brought in some pretty awesome deals via eBay in the past.

      • Click the Gamesmen link under the deal and have a look.
I haven't seen a good deal from them in quite some time.. but each to their own. It's not uncommon for them to price something higher on eBay only to be included in these promotions.
My negative is based on the fact you can currently get it heaps cheaper using TGG 15% cashback via CR or TCN gift cards JB hifi which will bring them both sub $500.
Not sure who negged me but the reason for a neg is valid if it can be had cheaper elsewhere.

        • Each to their own - I personally wouldn’t use cashback on this as if TopCashback has just mentioned PlayStation as the brand, I’m surprised that SB or CR didn’t follow suit (we lost TA at CR but now he joins them at TopCashback)

Regarding your second point - this is $539.10 delivered. If you factor in JB’s delivery pricing (costs additional $5.99 cheapest, or $9.99 for TGE), it’s somewhat marginally cheaper only (time cost to get those TCN gift cards and then later on converting it to JB (as max I believe is $500 per TCN gc)). You then might run into JB fraudulent system denying your JB gift card purchase.

You can also still get 1.75% cashback on eBay gift cards

Not sure who negged me but the reason for a neg is valid if it can be had cheaper elsewhere.

Regarding this, buying from The Gamesmen eBay is the cheapest available currently without going through the hoops of getting it cheaper

          • +1

@BargainsGrabber: That's fine but it still didn't make my statement wrong. I still feel that Gamesmen are being a little ingenuine just to land on that eBay deals page.
Also you aren't factoring that this is eBay plus. So people have to also sign up or join to get this benefit.
My neg isn't against you, it's against the deal primarily from a tactic Gamesmen have pulled off.
It would be interesting to see how they price this after promo ends.

      • +2

They pricejack and their support is painful too. They set a low bar.

      • -4

        Have a re-read. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/863484
Doesn't mention PlayStation as a brand.. states not to be used with ps5 or ps5 digital.
You are mixing it up with top cashback.

    • +2

Of course Gamesmen would raise the RRP only to add a discount bringing it almost to the standard price

      You are mistaken.

For the past 8 weeks (01/07 - 26/08) the listing price was $892.95 delivered.

Yesterday morning they reduced it to $599

      • No, everyone has dropped it to either $579 or $549.
Even on their own site it's dropped to $569.95.
I get what you are telling me that they didn't jack it up but they also didn't lower it to where everyone else had lowered it, so they can be part of this "deal".
But instead to be on the eBay deals promo they had their price "dropped" to $599. And then the "extra 10% off".
Anyway it doesn't change that you can get this cheaper from JB or TGG

        • You’re correct but some retailers on eBay do this is to cover partial of the eBay fees associated with it

Hence why you can see that their own website is cheaper than the eBay listings - this has been an ongoing trend (of course there are cheaper alternatives that you have pointed out, but this doesn’t mark them as “raising the RRP” for no particular reason - as mentioned by HomeAlone’s finding)

        • No, everyone has dropped it to either $579 or $549.

So your complaint is that it only works out $10 cheaper than what others have discounted it to?

Anyway it doesn't change that you can get this cheaper from JB or TGG

JB with gift cards? Cheaper for sure, but requires jumping through some hoops. Max 2x $100 cards per everyday rewards account per day so requires multiple visits or multiple rewards accounts to get that 10% off.

TGG with cashback? I wouldn't risk it. I purchased a controller and the cashback was rejected, because apparently it falls under PlayStation 5 even though the terms make it sound like it's only the consoles that are excluded.

          • @HomeAlone: I think you are using my words inappropriately. I talked about their $599 listing price not the after discount sale price.
If you compare the discount sale price you should also compare to my reason for negging which was also that it could be had for cheaper. ( Even if there is hoops to use.)
This deal is also only for eBay plus. So some may consider that a hoop if we are being pedantic.
I don't think I've been unreasonable for mentioning cheaper alternatives.

            • +2

              @maverickjohn:

I don't think I've been unreasonable for mentioning cheaper alternatives.

Absolutely nothing wrong with mentioning alternatives. I have done it myself many times, but I won't neg the original deals when the alternatives involve cashback, gift cards, etc. because I think that is unreasonable.

If the "cheaper price" can't be posted as a valid deal on OzBargain then it shouldn't be considered a valid reason to neg either.

Purchase price after discounts & savings. The amount of discounts & savings (e.g. “$2 off” or “half price”) may be mentioned if space allows. However, the price should NOT include referral discount/credit, cashback (commission refunds), gift card discount, or negotiated price – mention these additional savings in the deal description only.

              • @HomeAlone: I appreciate this response and can accept this (I know it's a title guideline rule) but that is a valid point that they can't be promoted as a deal.

        • +1

ebay charges fees so your comment is not really fair to Gamesman I feel, they are a top shop and we would be poorer if they had to close for not being competitive .

          • @botchie: Gamesmen used to be great. I used to visit their Penshurst store. I just don't think they have been genuine the last year or so.
Anyway I used to like them. They were the one store I would back up. I just feel they aren't the same anymore

        • +1

eBay charge them what, 10% fees? So $600 - $60 makes it more of a loss for them than listing it on their website, doesn’t it?

They lose more profit on eBay sales.

  • damn it keeps going down!!

  • +2

VR2 can play on PC with PC adapter, right?
