  • This is racial discrimination…. I am so desperate for a deal on the white 3G Note 2. All the deals only come up for the grey :(

    • Really? I wonder which group of race has grey skin colour???

      • Its discrimination against the white skin. (Pun intended)

        • Right, I guess those aliens with grey skin should now feeling proud that they are being supported…

      • Poms

      • old people

  • is this a good deal for the N7100? what version do they sell?

    and are UM highly respected?

  • +1

what is the reputation of unique mobile?

    is it local stock ?
    how fast is delivery ?
    do they handle returns?

    • +1

Apparently UM has a good repo over @ whirlpool forums. Its grey import as Samsung has not released the 3G version for Aus. People @ whirlpool are getting their phone delivered in around 5 days. Not sure about the returns though.

I've ordered two A-tick phones from them. Both arrived quickly, and they were very good about handling the warranty claim when one of them developed a fault.

They also sell import phones, which they cover with their own "manufacturer equivalent" warranty.

      • Whoops, I've ordered three phones from them! I forgot about the most recent one.

    • +2

CAUTION!!!UNIQUE MOBILE WILL NOT REPLACE/REFUND YOU ANY MONEY IF YOUR PHONE GETS LOST DURING SHIPPING FROM THEM TO YOU.

Save yourself the headaches and order from KOGAN for $10 more for the Galaxy Note 2.

There's an option for insured shipping that costs $5 or $6 more..

        Did you use it?

The ombudsman, ACCC, and the credit card company agree that Unique Mobile is entirely at fault and a case has been opened against their practice. The claim is being processed. It is up to you if you want to take the risk that you may be unfortunate enough to have your package lost and go through the hassle of a claim. This company is unethical and has extremely poor customer service. They stop answering emails and phone calls as soon as the package was lost in transition. The onus is on the sender to ensure that the product is delivered to the buyer, this is standard practice for any online seller.

      • +2

There's probably sufficient grounds for a claim.
It's the senders responsibility to ensure that the posted item arrives to the buyer.

Postal Insurance only covers the sender's loss, not the buyer's.

If you paid with a Credit Card, you should dispute the transaction as you did not receive the goods.

I'm in the market for a sub $200 phone for my cousin. I like the Xperia U but you're only offering a $4 saving from your regular price. It's hardly worth advertising it in your "Christmas Sale."

      • Thanks qazwsx12 i was thinking the same thing. If it was around that $150 price i would probably be more inclined to purchase, however this phone has been around the 170-200 mark for a while. Anyways i didn't even look and assumed the rep posted it but he didn't. So i doubt there will be anymore of a price drop apart from the massive $4.

  • Phone prices + $18.80 shipping, so far as i can tell.

  • have to add $18.80 for postage

    • Nope, read closer

Ehhhhhh postage added cones up to $579 for the note 2. Not a bargain anymore. I :(

  • Still want a 3G version of the S3 for a good price.

Heck, even an S2 and I'll save some cash.

4G too expensive for me. Not happening.

"Any postage comes with basic insurance"?

          http://auspost.com.au/about-us/customer-service-charter.html

          "COMPENSATION
Australia Post is not liable for any loss or damage for letters carried by the letter service, but in some cases you may be entitled to compensation of up to $50 for loss or damage caused by Australia Post to uninsured articles within Australia or overseas (applies to selected articles)."

The refunds you talk about do not come from some mystical portal of infinite refunds; they come from the retailer's pocket, who is basically forced into paying up by eBay and PayPal. They would be jumping through some serious hoops just to get that $50, too.

That being said, I don't understand why a company would even offer uninsured postage for such costly items, especially since the Postal Industry Ombudsman says that it may be up to the trader to replace the missing goods (http://www.pio.gov.au/making-a-complaint/common-complaint-th…). It's apparently no good trying to say that it's up to the customer to accept the risks involved in making that choice.

If this is your only grounds to not replacing an order of over $600 worth of goods its simply unacceptable! Any online retailer will guarantee success of delivery or replacement for every order.

I'm sure any potential buyers would not accept this if they were placed in the same situation, at a lost of $600~$700

  • Does the grey import version of the SGS3 4G have 2GB RAM? Its not mentioned in the specs which makes me sus.

    • All 4G/LTE version of SGS3 come with 2Gb RAM.

  • BUYING FROM UNIQUE? YOU ARE AT RISK!

I wish no one else to suffer the same treatments from this retailer. You are better off buying from comparable online retailers at comparable prices.

Worst service, if when a problem occurs their way of dealing is by not picking up or returning calls/emails. Pushing responsibilities onto 3rd parties and buyers.
I have read many similar reviews after been put through over 2 months (and counting)of chasing up an order that was admittedly lost by their freight service and they continue to dismiss the issue, not replacing phone worth $700 or refunding. Unique repeatedly place the buyer at fault by not purchasing the insured shipping..it fails to inform buyers that if you don't pay extra, they will not care that you've lost your hard earned money and count yourselves unlucky.

  • Terrible - Share for $5 off and it gives you the code. Go to enter it and it tells you the code isnt valid. Im going to delete the Mod: Foul Language tweet now.

  • BTW the Unique Mobiles website says "Radio: Yes" and GSMarena says Radio:No. Which one is it?

    Unique Mobiles: http://www.uniquemobiles.com.au/samsung-galaxy-s3-4g-i9305-w…
    GSMarena: www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9305_galaxy_s_iii-5001.php

Also does anyone know if TPG charges to swap to a MicroSIM from a regular one?

    • It seems like the original S3 had FM radio, but the 4G/LTE version does not.

    • They do.. $20.

But you can buy a $4 sim cutter from ebay and do it yourself.
