Need to Acquire 2500 Qantas Points

I had 350k Qantas points that expired due to 18 months of inactivity.
Qantas said they'll reinstate the points if I earn 2500 points in the next 3 months.
Without opting for a credit card, how can I get these 2500 points?
It can't be earned via points transfer.

Cheers

    • Thanks.

    • I bought wine last time for a quick point top up. Points came through fast. Now I'm stuck with all this fancy expensive wine that cost too much to give away as presents. One of the lids is sealed with wax.

Wine will be the best value. Can also just buy points direct from QF. Alternately, transfer some points from Everyday Rewards or (less likely) an Amex Ascent Premium account.

Buying a copy of Norton antivirus is cheaper than buying points directly from Qantas at the moment.

I'd go wine and everyday rewards as mentioned though. Also make sure to use the wellbeing app if you don't already, that'll get you 1k points for the first month.

Could also switch to red energy for bonus points, but IMO it's not worth it unless you get really good rates through them. Considering the points are paid out 21 days after the first bill, it might be cutting it close depending on how quickly they switch over (my last gas change took about a month to happen, electricity on a smart meter should be fast though).

Once you get it reinstated get the Qantas Health app. With daily workouts it just keeps the points ticking over.

    • Thanks will do

  • Qantas Pay

    Reloadable Card.

    No fees.

I use it to keep my points ticking along.

    • I was looking into it. It's 1 point per AUD$4 spent. Doesn't sound like good value unless you are doing a lot of international transactions then is 1.5 points per $1. No fees is always good

  • Qantas shopping has Petbarn 1 point per $1, Pet Circle 1 Point per $1, Petstock 2 points per $1, Petpost 2 points per $1.

Funny that if you go onto the Petstock website they only offer Everyday Rewards points at 1 point per $1 that effectively get halved when transferred to Qantas points (2,000 EDR= 1,000 Qantas points).
