to reflect how bad this deal is

For a brand with little exposure selling a chipset that's released more than 2 years ago. at nearly $1000.

    • Its still a snapdragon better than the crappy chips they put in the samsung A53

  • Gimmickkkk

  • A lot of $ for nothing!

Have a minute so here’s my opinion on the White 256 GB I got from JB at $730. Was $100 something more for 512 GB in the Black. I chose colour style preference over double storage - the kind of reasoning why I was stupid enough to consider sacrificing substance for the Nothing phone (2) in the first place. ;-)

I feel it's a good phone but a waste of money. No HDMI-compatible USB-C DP output whatsoever?

While its smooth 120 Hz scrolling (don't use Dynamic refresh rate setting, select High that alternates 120 Hz -or- 1 Hz (what's special about this LTPO OLED) and nothing in between is best), it’d want to be smooth for the price, however, scrolling hitches on some occasions like it's detecting a phantom finger fighting me - could be Chrome, the pre-applied [that I’m thankful for lol but it's not a glass] screen protector, something else, idk.

The Nothing’s custom launcher feels a bit incomplete. Shame it couldn't use the dotted font everywhere - we’re not given the option to change the font, system wide or otherwise.

… I really like the Nothing's minimalist audio Recorder app!

Not even mentioning the Glyphs, am I? Yeah, no use for the flashing lights yet.

Get the Motorola instead, y’all know the model (G84). Buy 3 of them at this price!

Looking for a Nothing phone (2) case, I narrowed it down to several:

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/166678995507?var=466331016099
It's wearing this one (you won't or can't use the extras it comes with), reckon it makes it look & feel more expensive. I pushed the removable power button out of case to prevent accidental hard power off while gripping; who needs a power button any way.

I tore the glued ring magnet off with a makeshift shim, as it does not wireless charge with it on.

(Charging with this Belkin is hit & miss with or without cover - when you find the coil sweet spot (notified by an alert tone after a short delay), you can return sometime later only to find it has ceased charging.)

    Questions, just ask.

    • Thanks for your thoughts. I'm keen on a NP2 but waiting for the price to drop a little further before pulling the trigger - $899 definitely feels like too much still.

I'm not after HDMI, I don't care too much about processor, but I am after something with a good battery and minimal OS. I strongly dislike Samsung's UI. I'm keen on the glyphs as a sort of replacement of old notification dots.

It's hard to argue that the Moto G84 might not be a better choice, given that price though!

  • Decent phone, upgraded from samsung A53 and its night and day

  • Its Nothing. But does it have Something.

  • Bought a nothing phone 3 months ago. Got nothing till date..

  • the 2A Plus likely coming soon

How much will the updated 2A+ cost ?

  • Bought myself the 2a in Milk-it's awesome though no sign of the Nothing chargers coming back in stock on the Nothing store yet-so am charging mine with a Belkin BoostCharge 42W (30W USB-C/12W USB-A) charger.
