Saw the Tangerine deal for 25/10 at $52.
This is much better. Or Flip would be decent too.

It's NBN download/upload speed
Flip is currently $39/m for 25/8 plan for first 6 months. I’m with Mate though and loving it.
Do they use Vocus ?
2 years ago they were and probably still do now.
They're owned by Swoop, so possibly using Swoop network now?
Given that they've just returned after not accepting new plans for a while I'd say this is likely.
This is slow as
You can’t properly stream tv with it
Uhm yes you can? I have 25/10 and never had any issues with using a streaming service.
Wife and I both work from home and stream 2 different services at night and we are on 25/10 from More without any issues.
How does 25/10 go regarding zoom / teams?
Sufficient for video calls?
Friends don't let friends get this speed tier
bloody hell. $50 for 25/10.
Just rediculous.
25/10 should be what you get by default for just having a service. thanks LIB's for utterly screwing the digital capability of this country.
What are you actually ranting on about here? This is an optional cheaper speed tier for users with low usage requirements, what "digital capability" is being destroyed by having it available? How much were you paying for ADSL before the NBN rollout? Now adjust for inflation, was it any cheaper than this? Who ever promised the low speed tiers on NBN would be free?
$29.95.
no, they are right, this is ridiculous, if you can get 1000/50 for about $100 then 100/20 should be the lowest any isp offers and it should be no more than $50, they are ripping everyone off on purpose, they are holding back the technology on us, we need to catch up, in New Zealand you can get 4000 & 8000 connections , 25/10 in this day and age is pathetic to be offered, they are taking advantage of us all
I always wonder how cheap dodo and tpg were gonna offer naked adsl2+ if the govt didnt rip out the pstn network to stop dodo and tpg from doing exactly this.
This speed tier should not exist in 2024.
Why should this cheaper speed tier not exist when it completely meets the needs for hundreds of thousands of low usage households? All the retirees or single people who don't download content or game are perfectly happy on these cheaper low speed plans. They can even stream 4K on their TV if they want to. They wouldn't notice any difference having any extra bandwidth available to them.
Im not talking about price, Im talking about speed tier only. The minimum should be 50/20, or even dare say 100/40 going forward. Even the NBN is looking to increase speeds from 250/20 to 750/50 next year. The minimum should be priced cheap, I agree, but the 25/10 speed tier has served its purpose in internet history and we need to move past it, just like we did with dial up and 480p video.
Even just looking at the technical perspective I'm telling you that nearly all the users currently on this speed tier will have zero benefit from an increase in bandwidth. What actual benefit to low usage users do you think will be gained by doubling their bandwidth?
@howcan: No point in telling me, those speed tiers will cease to exist in a couple of years. Tell the ISPs if you think they should keep them around or even bring back dial up or ADSL speeds for the oldies who can afford the time for things to load because they have the time to spare.
My point is that this price for this speed tier is wrong, and the tier itself isn't great. Whether specific use cases will benefit from a higher speed or not I don't know (I'm betting they will), but it sure won't hurt for them to have things load faster, especially as device screen resolutions, video recording resolutions, and streaming service resolutions continue to increase which they may wish to take advantage of.
@Trishool: You really have severe learning difficulties don't you? No one ever suggested bringing back dialup speeds, you can stop hyperventilating with your total unhinged nonsense. A 25mbit connection is sufficient to achieve most use cases for a single user or low usage houshold.. A bump in speed from 25mbit for low usage users will not be noticeable whatsoever as there's nothing they're doing that's getting anywhere near maxing out their bandwidth.
My point is that this price for this speed tier is wrong,
But you said you weren't talking about price.
Whether specific use cases will benefit from a higher speed or not I don't know (I'm betting they will)
Nope. I've worked directly supporting these users with these low speed connections, they would not notice a single thing. What's your experience beyond dumb assumptions and zero technical knowledge?
it sure won't hurt for them to have things load faster, especially as device screen resolutions, video recording resolutions, and streaming service resolutions continue to increase which they may wish to take advantage of.
What will load faster? What incrased video resolutions would they want to take advantage of when 25mbits is already sufficient to stream 4k? What are you even on about here?
Yep, that's me. Very little downloading, I do Zoom and Teams meetings, and stream Kayo, Prime, etc and everything is fine. I went with Flip 25/8 for $39 for six months and it was a seamless move.
Sorry how is this a deal? You can get EXTREMELY competitive deals at the moment with the NBN rollout. I'm on $65 a month with Leaptel for 100/50
Yup I am paying $69 for $250/25 with More Broadband
How do you get it at that price? I checked their website and it's $92 for a 50/20 plan.
They offered 40% off via commbank yello when I signed up.
@Pricebeat: Okay, thanks
They've upped the prices since I signed up back in November by the looks of things.
I can only see $115 for 250/25 with More (becomes ($92 with CBA card). How did you land this price?
EDIT: Someone else asked the same question, got my answer.
Yes but this is 20% cheaper than your targeted offer, and it’s available to anybody?
It may be a deal for people that don't want to spend $65 (or suits their budget) nor care about up/down speeds
So they look for cheapest option .. imagine that
Can you schedule the signup date? Apparently I need to give 30 days notice to dodo before leaving.
Flip is 39 and reverts to 57
I was with Mate 25/10 for the 6 months discounted deal and than switched to the Felix unlimited deal for $39 p/m..Honestly Felix is working way way better for me and plays much better than Mate without any buffering….I understand that would not be the case for everyone due to the distance from the tower and congestion factor..etc etc
Also with Felix and agree you get a lot of bang for your buck on the Unlimited data plan - although the speeds can vary greatly depending on where you are.
What is 25/10? Adsl2+?
