Knowing Harvey Norman, they'll probably just relist the product with higher price to maximise their revenue. Why sell at less than manufacturer cashback when they can sell at same or slightly higher price.

    • Nail on the head there I think

  • woohoo! I bought one just before the deal expired!

'This entitles you to claim your money back with Braun, if you are not entirely satisfied with the performance of your Braun epilator product purchase (subject to Terms and Conditions). ' - I remember this posting on Zyrtec which had the money back if not satisfied (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/79462), and so many people were on the moral high horse saying that was not a deal, but abusing a system… yet this deal has received over 100 + votes… ah how the times have changed.

    • +1

Perhaps you should READ the post, Chivalry. This isn't a "money back if not satisfied promotion" it's a $75 cash back after purchasing the product, which Harvey Norman have listed as a clearance price.

The cash back if not satisfied just happens to be listed there, although you have to return the product within 60 days and you're not gaining anything out of it.

Your post was simply taking advantage of a genuine health product. The company was offering a full refund if the medication did not work for the consumers.

      • +4

my apologies for not reading that its actually 2 separate offers. =D

I didnt neg either deals nor did i post 'my post'. =P

but thanks for clarifying, so this means I can actually claim cashback and if im not happy with the product within 60 days, I can also get my purchase price back?

        • All good.

          You cannot claim both offers.

Basically if you're unhappy with the product you can return it within 60 days and get your money back. If you claim the cash back you will be sent the money after 60 days (i.e. after the cash back 60 day period).

  • +3

The cashback is still available just not at the cheap Gerry Harvey price

  • Ok so people who ordered for pick up at Brisbane cbd store expect to wait for the next shipment, i just went in and it seems like 20+ were sold and 6 In stock.. No idea when the next shipment will be.. On a positive note I was able to make a back order at the counter for the same price which by passes the whole online ordering problem.
Another suggesting could be to see if Shaver Shop does price matching.

  • Just talked to the HN online, they said the item is "out of stock and being currently removed from the website".

  • +2

Ordered at about 4am this morning, just got my confirmation e-mail that mine is ready for pick-up in-store.

    • How do you know it is "a DISCONTINUED product."?

      • because I work in retail.

        • +13

You work in retail, yet you're calling everyone on here an idiot?

          How funny.

        • +9

I know right! we are idiots!

Sounds like something Gerry Harvey would call us shoppers.

        • +4

          Perhaps knknkn IS GERRY HARVEY!

          Another conspiracy theory…

    • +1

Yay! Heading down there soon to pick up mine too :)

  • I walked into the store in Frankston. 4 on the shelf and more in the cupboard. Price was $104 on the shelf but a check on the computer showed up at $57. Lady wrote with a pen on the label and I took it to the front.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered one in the morning. No confirmation yet to be picked up.

    • same

I havent got my yes go and pickup order. hmmmmm
    I ordered around 5.40am.

For anyone else who still has the screen shot, I managed to pick up 3 from David Jones Southland price matched to $57, paid for with my Westfield gift cards bought last Tuesday. Thank you OzBargain! :)

    • +1

might you have one to share with us :)

    • I also went to the DJ at Brisbane CBD. They don't have this particular model and the lady claimed the one HN was selling was an older model.

      • Thanks, I was about to head there to see if i can get another so i can see how it is.

  • Just got mine delivered

They forgot to include the reciepts so i had to call them back and they said theyll email them

    Time to claim cashback :)

  • I called HN @ North Ryde and they said they only have 2.
They said someone from Head Office will call me to sort out the stock.
They also said no stock nationwide, so no idea if i am actually gonna get them.

    • When i called them earlier, they said i was lucky to get mine delivered
Apparently they have a bucket load on back order

  • Yes - be warned about stock. HN processed my 2 orders, but only supplied a tax invoice for collection of 1.

I called them and said asked if I could collect both at the same time and was told that they only have stock of 1 allocated to me and I'll need to wait to see if they can get more stock from braun in order to honour the other order - or I could cancel my order with their online department and ask for a refund.

I complained and they said - sorry, you need to take it up with "online", not our problem, we can only sell what we have in stock.

Still a good deal, but pretty pathetic to fulfil the order only to be told (on my own follow up) sorry no stock.

  • w0w! I ordered 2 this morning at around 3am and paid $57 online. Went to pick mine up at Coffs harbour and guess how much they are selling them for in store ??

    $40!!!!!

I purchased two more instore and asked them to put them on two different receipts. Now im really hoping they refund me $75 for all of them

Cost = $194 (excluding petrol, printing forms, envelopes, stamps and my time)

    Potential return = $300

    Lets hope

  • Sugar!!! Bought 6 from local HN, and when filling the claim form I found it's actually $30 cashback each, as in the claim form clearly states:

    Silk-epil 5 — 5280, 5180 Cash back amount: $30

What we got is 5180, and therefore no profit, $27 each. Now heading to refund process…

    • no, $30 cash back is for silk-epil 3

Series 7 Male Shavers, Series 7 Epilators $100
Series 5 Male Shavers, Series 5 Epilators $75
Series 3 Male Shavers, Series 3 Epilators (ex. 380S Shaver Shop exclusive) $30
      Hand blenders: Multiquick 5 range (550, 540 & 530) $50

      • -2

Actually not mate, I bought one online pickup and the rest are from local HN, they are all Braun EPILATOR PC: SE5180 model on the receipt. And check the screenshot of the claim form from below, it's only $30 cashback for this model.

you ve got an old cashback form

          read the dates

        • Something weird happened, I downloaded it just now from the link in top post. Will check again.

    • Not sure what you are looking at

The cashback form says series 5 epilators are $75 cashback

      So does the website

      http://www.braun.com/anz/promotions/gifting-2012.html

    • +4

      Damned, My Bad, FALSE ALARM….

I don't know where I got the old form from 2011, and it was downloaded 10 minutes ago. But on the 2012 form, it's different. Sorry guys. And thanks for confirming this for me.

  • +6

good for all of you who manage to buy from HN..

I didnt.. I was planning to buy it in store this weekend for my sisters..

Now.. I cant get any.. should have reserved online when i could.

    :( :(

    • +3

hopefully someone who brought this for profit can give one to you as thanks for thinking of the people before yourself.

    • Sorry to hear that OP. Please get one for yourself before posting your next deal. some people here bought 5 or 10 . I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.

    • +5

thanks guys… got 2 today from HN Belmont.

  • HN Moorepark has the Series 3 epilators for $29 in stock

    • $1 profit, maybe not worth to buy it if you are male.

      • If you are looking to make profit you may want to conside what I scored today http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86201#comment-1130868 and this deal is still valid

        • WOW, that is some crazy bargaining.

Now will you actually use any of it?

        • Nice find, for $449 out of pocket you get a bunch of stuff, but still out of pocket, unless ebay them to get a profit.

        • I am a technology fan not at all interested in the kitchen stuff. It was just part of the deal. The kitchen stuff can make good Christmas presents.

  • You can buy the "Braun LS5160 Silk-Epil Lady Shaver - Wet & Dry" from http://www.shaverchoice.com.au/ delivered for $70.90.

The terms and conditions state "Purchase a Participating Product during the Purchase Period from any retailer", so I would consider ShaverChoice a retailer, no ?

    Would the LS5160 be considered a Series 5 ?

    • call them on 1800 641 820

  • Guys HN staff told me the $75 cashback is not valid with the $57 sale price. I only took one for my partner as originally planned. Someone should check on this.

    • +7

well, better to double check, but I suspect the HN staff might actually know nothing.

      • Maybe the sales girl intend to buy all of it so wanted to put me off

    • reason?

      • As I said above. She was quite harsh too, peel off the cashback sticker in front of me after I told her I'll still take one

        • +3

She definitely will take all of the rest and put them under the counter.

        • +3

Probably doesnt know shit. Like most Harvey Norman employees. I bet they didnt even read the T&Cs for the cashback offer!

        • +1

Not surprising. Most of the HN staff are like that. I was at gaming section of HN Liverpool few months back and the lady was a so harsh and seems not interested in answering questions about the products. They just want people come and hand over the money to buy super pricey products. They needs some serious classes from Jbhifi staff on customer service, who though look much younger, but surprisingly polite.

I always prefer to buy online from them and either get delivered or pick up at store. Its only the online HN team which is creating some sensation.

        • The sticker just seems to be an ad. Nothing in the T&Cs saying you need the sticker. Go ahead and claim!

    • +2

      which store?

Because once i received the email to pickup mine was sitting waiting for me and i was presented with the form and the box together.. plus the box also has the promo sticker on it saying i get $75 cash back.

  • -7

There are a bunch of us here who are secretly watching and waiting for the cashback to fall through so we can LOL at the people who bought 5/10 units. XD

    • +6

You're just mad that you missed out on buying some yourself, it's okay.

    • +2

Sure theres a bunch you guys…

But there are also a bunch of us here waiting to make profit so we can LOL at the people who got nothing. XD

  • I bought 2 from HN bendigo today. But it has no sticker/cash back coupon on it? Can someone confirm if there has to be a sticker for claiming cash back? Thanx

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    I missed out.

    • +3

      hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

      Too bad.

  • +1

So as posted yesterday, I bought 5 of these.. I got emails saying 2 are ready to be picked up in store (I selected store pickup so that I save money on delivery).

Went to HN store today - and I asked the guy if they had any more in stock. He pretty much told me that this morning, Head Office detected something went wrong when they received 2500 orders for this product. Apparently the guy who was typing in the price in the online system made a mistake. My 2 boxes clearly have the $104 sticker price on them.

He said they are losing $20 on each product due to cashback (he gave me the cashback forms) and was very helpful. This shows that HN is aware of the issue + they do agree that the cashback will still work in our favour!

    • Which HN was that?

      • That was HN in Fyshwick ACT. I was there this weekend.

The other ones I'm picking up from HN Liverpool. They called me today saying the store was out of stock and they are offering me free delivery instead!!

        • Same here. HN Alexenderia called me today for a free shipping delivery as it was out of stock from Liverpool.

    • +3

Sorry but losing $20 in peanuts compared to the amount of profit and rippoffness they have been ripping Australians off for years. So have no sympathy for them.

Also didnt someone say this was DISCONTINUED because they worked in retail? lol derp

      • I don't think they are losing money because of the cash back promotion, it's none of their business.

They may lose money because of marking down the price on these discontinued models, however that's something they have to do regardless the cash back.

Btw, Myer is clearing the SE5180 model with a $80 price tag, but it scanned as $68 when I went there two days ago. The lady refused to price match as it's obviously below cost, and she's confident they will be sold quickly at such price.

        • If you wouldn't mind providing a receipt…. Could you please?

          :)

        • I didn't buy from Myer if that's the receipt you are after, not sure if all Myer have the same price, the one I visited is in Wollongong, NSW. Cheers.

    • +3

I don't thing HN really losing $20 on each product. Cashback is initiated by Braun, and not HN.
It's typical HN lies (As I know for a fact that they lies all the time, especially when it comes to pricing) to make us accept less quantity.

Also, the product they sell is old model (although Shaver Shop also sell the old model). You can see in the official Braun website, the new model is of different shape and colour scheme.

Like the poster above said, even if HN lose $20, no one will have a sympathy to them. Not just because everyday constant rip off, but they still actively lobby the government (even until now) to abolish $1000 tax free treshold we currently have (when shopping for things overseas)

  • Help! I went to pick mine up today, the usual driving around to the back and presenting the tax invoice e-mail on my phone with ID etc.

As I was driving home I realised I forgot the 'receipt' required for the cashback, i.e. they didn't give me one when I picked it up.

So, question - is the tax invoice e-mail (order confirmation?) from HN the receipt? Or should I have received one when I picked it up from the warehouse? Since technically I paid and ordered online I can see why they may not have issued me one upon pick-up, but I'm not sure.

    • The email subject does read: Harvey Norman Tax Invoice

    • Well the email does serve as a proof, but too make sure, go to Harvey and get printed receipts, which they provide at request.

      • What we received in the email is sufficient. If they wanted to query the claim they could check with HN themselves.

        • +1

I honestly cbf to print the emails, I just got HN to do that for me.

    • Cheers all :)

  • Guys this is still going in store.

    Just went to Harvey Norman Joondalup ( WA ) and got 1 . ( 1 left now - 10 mins ago )

    $49 ! ( not $57 ) for some reason

    Thanks Op

  • Anyone still waiting for pick up email from HN? I am, hope it is just delaying and not being cancelled.

  • Went to Harvey Norman Belmont WA. Saw their advertised price for $75. told the sales, saw an online price thats lower than that.. and he knew it was $57. grabbed 2. there were 5 or more on the shelf

  • On another note, mine didn't come with a brush ..

  • i got one today from Hn store but the box only had a $30 cash back sticker on it. i hope that this model actually does qualify for the $75 cash back as its for females not males,?

    • +6

I saw the Sik Epil 7 which said $100 cash back on the box so I assumed the Sik Epil 5 would be the next cash back down, ie $75.

+1 this comment if you would like me to call Braun tomorrow and find out for sure that this is gonna work.

For what its worth, David Jones still has the product with a $75 cashback:
