Has anyone played Black Myth: Wukong?
I'm curious how it compares to the initial gameplay footage—does it live up to the hype in terms of combat mechanics and overall graphics? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Not sure why random boomers on ozbargain would offer any insight better than any game reviewers.
I've played about 8 hours so far and loving it. Gameplay wise it's very God of war 2018/Ragnarok. But without all the puzzling inbetween. Just linear boss fight after boss fight. Game is absolutely beautiful and the gameplay is just fun with a good amount of difficulty, nothing ever seems too impossible. I've had a couple of low frame rate points in chapter 2 when there's a lot of particle effects happening. But nothing that would stop me from playing. But I did complete Jedi survivor on release and that was way worse (framrate/stutter wise).
The wiki page mentions it's "soulslike". Is it like Dark Souls at all?
I mean in the way that it has bonfire-esque checkpoints, enemies that respawn when you die/rest, and a gourd/flask to heal from sure. But there's a skill tree rather than dumping points into stats, you don't have to collect will (souls) on death, and it's definitely just more flourishing action focused.
The game is an absolute masterpiece and has helped me justify my 4090 purchase from earlier this year

been playing for the last a few days. good action game. biggest issue is no map and get lost during running. you can better understand the story if you have some konwledge of Journey to the West
Oh.. and too bad as an Xbox player i am unable to try it out myself.
