    Revies not good…
    Bought a couple of 4 packs about a year ago, and slowly one by one they've been dying. Also the app is pretty buggy.
    Died within a week, stopped being able to turn power on or off to the device that was plugged into it.
    Bought 6 of them, they failed as warranty ended. bought 6 more start of this year and they failed 4 months in… all my grid connect are hard to use, unreliable and just rubbish.

      I have 12 of them on my HA and they have been flawless for the past 3 years, pool pumps, washing machine, kettles, 2kw heaters, no issues.

          The 2 pool related ones are in a small shed that houses all my pool equipment, temps of about 5 deg in winter through to 50 summer

    Returned mine after a few months of usage… every few months one would die and then you'd have to make the trip back to Bunnings… so after the 4th death… ive decided its not worth my time and fuel and got my full refund back.

    Stay away!

    I bought but returned because of the size, it blocked 2 powerpoints so was useless to me, ended up going for some without energy reading function from Amazon.

    It may be $20 for a pack of two now, but you'll likely waste more than that in terms of time later when the capacitor for the low voltage side on this fails.

    It's always the same capacitor. I don't know what kind of operating temperature they're running at, but it's clear they've screwed up somehow in regards component selection and the expected lifetime. (10V, low esr, 470uF)

    Can't imagine replacing the cap would be too fun for first-timers, given that it's in proximity to some 400V caps as well. Don't die.

    Have some of the older ones and the build quality was rubbish, didn't end up using them after flashing ESPHome because the energy monitoring circuit was completely out of whack and I couldn't be bothered to calibrate them manually. I'd recommend staying away from these entirely.

    On a side note, if you have a zigbee network at home, look into the $12 IKEA TRETAKT instead. Those are much better built and seems more reliable than the previous generation, and they don't completely block the power point next to it anymore. A standard plug will still fit, but not anything bulky. Shame they don't have energy monitoring though.

      The IKEA doesn't have power monitoring. Good device is that is not important. I have heard somewhere the Ikea Power monitoring Zigbee version is on it's way.

        Looked it up and apparently it's "coming in October", so it will probably show up here next year I recon, as most electronics are released here a few months after they become available in the EU and North America.

      does the IKEA Tretakt work alone with a phone app or do you must buy a hub (DIRIGERA) to do things like timer, remote turn on/off, etc?

        The hub is required unless you have your own zigbee network already set up (zigbee2mqtt / ZHA). None of their products connect to the network directly except the hub itself, and I'm not sure if remote control is possible with the hub alone (I don't have it, you may need a Google Home/Echo/HomePod on top of that).

    Picked up two packs last night. One Bunnos didn't have them out and CBF finding them for me, the other had them at the end of the aisle. Setup one in HA last night and have added an Integral to monitor the kwh. All seems to be working fine.
