  • GameSir G8+ for AU$84

    where is that available?

  • (profanity) legend, thanks for this

  • Price-wise, this looks more appealing compared to the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2025 I got two days ago. Slightly stronger CPU performance, and similar screen resolution and refresh rate. It just has a smaller battery capacity 6550 mAh vs 10200 mAh on the Xiaoxin Pad Pro lineup.

    • +1

It's also 8.8inch vs 12.7 for the screen size. So very different size.

      • Yes, that's another consideration to make. Some will prefer the smaller screen for reading or handheld gaming, other might prefer the larger screen for productivity tasks, note-taking, and video watching.

Also, the Xiaoxin Pad Pro on its own is actually quite light and easy to hold onto, but with the folio cover it weighs a lot.

  • Legion Go ARM edition… no AAA titles.

    • Xbox Cloud Gaming among others :)

      • +1

In that case I have a Samsung Legion Go Samsung Edition… I get what you're saying but it's a stretch.

        • +1

Yep. Admittedly I haven't tried the cloud gaming since using Kainy 13 years ago lol

Can this be flashed to a global firmware with OTA working?? Thanks.

    • Yup, it's incredibly easy as there's a semi-official way to do it.

      • What? You just download the official rescue app, select the model, and let it do its thing? That's it?

        • Pretty much yeah. I was really surprised.

I believe the only catch is you can't go backwards - if you receive a tablet with a Chinese ROM that's newer than the latest-available global ROM, you have to wait till a newer global ROM is released.

It's semi-official because although the rescue app and ROM is all official (you don't even need to unlock the bootloader), they don't officially support flashing different regions like that. There are videos on YT that show the whole process, best to check them out to make sure nothing has changed recently!

        • I believe the tablet is more than likely going to come with CN rom on version 737 or higher looking at the ali reviews. So I don't think you can change to global rom immediately as others have done. Like eug says, will have to wait for global rom to catch up so turning off auto updates would be a good idea.

          • @BigDadda: Can confirm this. Mine from this sale came with the 795 ROM so was beyond the ability to easily install a global ROM. However I've upgraded it to ZUI 16 and switched most of it to English, side loaded Google Play and it's just like every other tablet we have in the house. Performs like a rocket too - games, videos are great.

  • Would this tablet be good for Uni notetaking, or is this mainly for gaming?

    • If you are ok with ipad mini size, this will work.
