They (Sunwood-AU) used to sell them at about 30-ish and I've had luck price beating them at Officeworks. Probably wait a bit to see if they will drop it to that price again.

      Sorry it was 128GB

      • Thanks… Jaw dropped when you mentioned that!

      • Samsung pro endurance 128gb are $30 atm. Very similar in spec.

    • +1

Based on previous OzBargain posts, the ~$30 are the 128GB.

      • +2

Yeah sorry I had a temporary brain fart

PS: These are the 'recommended' memory card by VIOFO for their Dashcams

    • Exactly what I bought it for.

      • What VIOFO model have you just got?

        • Bought a A229 Plus Duo from authorised seller on ebay. Was a pack with the hardwire kit, CPL filter… I think with eBay discount code and discounted gift card paid ~$300?

          • +1

@Apostle0748: Oh cool, I got an A229 too, but the pro one. Hope it goes well with the installation. I remember I was soo freakin nervous installing dashcam on my own.

Thanks OP, need one for my dashcam.

  • I wish it was Amazon Au selling at this price so I can use my damn promo credit

    • Amazon is 70 something

      • Exactly…

    • Huh confused it’s Amazon au selling this ..?

      • No it's Sunwood, just a third party reseller listing on Amazon Australia.

        • ah gotcha but does that matter if its from amazon or 3rd party reseller? its the same product..

          • @prankster: No but I can only use Amazon promo credit on items sold by Amazon Au :(

            • @CVonC: oh really that sucks, it should be anything bought from amazon you can use the credit for regardless if seller is third party too

              • @prankster: If only! But that's how all Amazon promo credit works unfortunately :/

                • +1

@CVonC: maybe im blind but now the listing states "Sold by Amazon AU" so you can use your promo credit

                  • +1

@prankster: $63.55 from Amazon Au hmm I might bite. Thanks for the heads up.

Looking for a good dashcam deal as well

Any risk of counterfeit card from this seller?

    • Don't think so, but if you want to be safe just price match at your local electronics store.

      • Are we safe if we're doing shipped by Amazon AU even if sold by third party on Amazon?

I take some comfort in that the Sunwood store deals have been posted on OzB before and noone seems to complain about fake cards.

  • What size is necessary for a Viofo A229 pro. Waiting for a sale and would be good to have this ready to go

    • There's no 'necessary' size, the camera just overwrites the oldest recordings when it runs out of space.

    • I have A229 pro dual camera (F+R) and on high settings for both cameras, it captures roughly 10-11 hours for 256GB.

  • Is this better than Samsung pro endurance cards?

    • I think they're very similar, but main reason for this is VIOFO dash cameras recommend it as a card to use in their products.

  • Do microsd cards fail more than full size ad card?

    • Nope. They can throttle more easily due to heat, but even thats becoming uncommon.

      • Idk

Did a cool workshop w this photography expert who runs he's business and the stuff they use is high end

And was saying that yeah microsd cards fail way more than full size ones

        • Does it really matter? If a device is made for MicroSD, you don't have the choice to use SD cards.

If a device is made for SD, you use SD cards.

If your income depends on photography, you are using cameras that take dual SD or dual MicroSD cards and recording to both cards at the same time in case one fails.

          • @rumblytangara: i mean it does matter if there is a difference.

i guess I'm lookin to buy a trusty full sized sdcards for my two sony cameras at some point whenver a deal pops up.

they r quite a bit more expensy but I'm sure it's worth it

            • @AndrewMTG: Use full sized SD cards, so you don't lose the tiny MicroSD cards + adaptor.

If you've got a serious and expensive camera setup, don't gimp it with the wrong parts just to be cheap.

              • @rumblytangara: yeah many mnay years ago i somehow lost the 32gb microsd card whrn i took it out the tablrt at a friends house.

when i came home somehow it was just on the floor… I'm guessing it fell into my pants right at the cuff near the socks and stayed there for many hours 0_0.

Glad i found it tho cause otherwise it'd be 1000% lost if it ended up anywhere in that friends place

        • You don't need to say IDK, lol. Thats why you asked people who do.

You can confirm the figures at your local officeworks or PC store.
The RMA rate on MicroSD isn't notably higher than SD.
