Tommy Hilfiger are basic quartz fashion watches. For a little bit more you could buy a solar watch from a reputable watch making brand like Citizen with 100m water resistance & not have to worry about changing the battery. Or buy a Casio.

      this is an ugly watch

Another option in this style with better specs is the Pagani Speedy which @Jimothy Wongingtons & Chazzozz has posted previously.

          pagani

You know a bottle of wine is good when it's grown and bottled in the same region. That's why Chinese watches are superior. Made and assembled in the same place. Pagani have cracked the secret.

The dial is just to die for, the perfect interplay of black and white that catches the light just right. The polishing on the case is so precise and mirrors the wrist beautifully, you can tell the attention to detail is just phenomenal. It's just the epitome of elegance and class, it'll make any suit or formal attire look a hundred times better. This is truly the holy grail of dress watches for under $100, I'm completely enamoured by it. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a timeless piece.

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I changed the strap to a bond MN and it's even better!

            • @Fitzwah: oh damn! I could see that working - did you buy the one from strapify or is there some other cheaper source?

              • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: The MN was from strapify. With the black hardware. The stretch is great.

In saying that, I have got some great straps from Ali.

          • @Jimothy Wongingtons:

Made and assembled in the same place.

Assembled, yes. What about the Seiko movements? The listings say Japan Mvmt, so how does that square with the terroir bit?

        • Am happy with my coutura

    • +2

      Perfectly said.

Which solar models would you recommend in a low/mid budget range? I don't have a specific amount in mind but something that's good value for money. Changing batteries is always a pain so I'd much prefer solar.

  • How much is it normally ?

    • -67% $110.00
      RRP: $329.00RRP: $329.00

      • So it's normally sold for RRP?

I find that hard to believe.

        • +1

          that is what bezos said

          • @HolyCr4p: He's never bought this watch.

        • +2

From a quick search, you'd likely be looking at between $150 and $200. Fashion watches almost always have a inflated RRP.

It's a decent price for it keeping in mind that it is a fashion watch.

IMO Tommy is a bit of a trash brand now. Would a decent brand put out this crap - keyboard/mouse/headset from Tommy?

          • +1

            @ihfree:

keeping in mind that it is a fashion watch.

It doesn't look very 'fashionable' to me.

  • +1

    it's actually nice the look

  • +1

    Fashion brand quartz, eww

  • +1

48mm and I don't quite understand the need for the pushers. It's not a chrono.
The subdials are Day, 24H and Date, so why the pushers?!

    • why the pushers

i kind of half expect it to not even do anything haha

    • +4

You typing this out is putting more effort thinking about it then the designers spent designing it.

  • +4

Please do not purchase this, as the construction of this is no more worth than a cheap $0.50 watch off AliExpress (which is probably where the manufacturer is actually from anyways).

  • These fashion brand watches have got $20 quartz movements (and that's retail).

RRP is gross, and claiming that $110 is a 'discount' is basically misleading. It's not worth $110.

  • It's an obnoxiously large, quartz, fashion watch with a mineral crystal but it's styling is otherwise decent.

Regardless, probably better to put your money towards a decent watch.

  • Fashion brand watches are generally a no-go, Cartier is the exception.

    • Montblanc goes alright too

    • -2

Cartier is an interesting watch brand. People will gladly spend $10k on it, and it's essentially a fashion watch.

they do look nice no doubt.

      • +1

Cartier is not a fashion watch. They design all their movements in-house.

  • You could literally buy the same watch for $5 off Aliex. Fashion watches are cheap junk.

  • -2

Fashion watches are terrible value and listing it as an Analogue one is disingenuous at best and lying at worst

    • +1

It has spinny hand thingamabobs. Ergo, analogue.

Did you mean mechanical movement that may or may not need hand winding?

    • +1

Huh? It is an analogue watch.
It's not an auto but it never claimed to be

If you have a tight budget look at the Orient Bambino, Seiko 5 Sports, Casio F91W, or other brands like Citizen and Bulova, or buy a $200 smartwatch.

There is that much information out there regarding budget quality watches, no one should be buying stuff like this.

    • Aldi smart watch $50 next week … just saying

      • If you prefer accuracy in heart rate, etc. better buy other brands. My Huawei GT-Runner was under $250 when I bought it during Black Friday. Apple watch is no.1 in term of heart rate accuracy for example. No.2 is Huawei.

        Check youtube: The Quantified Scientist
        https://m.youtube.com/@TheQuantifiedScientist

The Quantified Scientist is the only one in the world that checks and compares the accuracy of smart watches, fitness trackers, smart rings, etc.

My Huawei GT-Runner can beat so many other brands out there in term of heart rate accuracy and the battery can last around 1 week in normal mode :)

    • Easy throwaway generalisations.

For $110 delivered or less, an analogue (bye-bye F91W or a smart watch) with day, date and 24H displays. Bonus points if it's a six-hander like this one.

      Orient Bambino? Dreamin
      Seiko 5 Sports? As above
      Citizen? As above
      Bulova? As above

It doesn't exist, you're full of it! Unless it's from AliExpress.

      • You can buy an analogue day-date, 6 hand watch on Amazon from a no name brand for under $30…

Again, no one should purchase this watch.

Either spend a bit extra and get something well made where you are actually getting some value (both Citizen and Bulova make decent watches under $200), or, If you can really only spend around $100 get something like a Timex. You know, from brands that actually make watches not cologne.

        • I can? Got a link? Or do I type in "6 hand watch" in Amazon search?

See, you negged this deal then go on about dearer brands (irrelevant to this deal) or digital/smart watches (also irrelevant, totally different styles).

So it's just a general "I don't like fashion brand watches" neg, which is also irrelevant to the deal. If this place had some consistency, it would have been removed.

Deal's OOS anyway, any left of the one you'll be linking I wonder?

        • Honestly, I don't think they're terrible watches as far as fashion watches go. They're designed and made by Movado.

I do however agree that your money is better spent on something else.
