Australian Natural/Roasted Macadamia Nuts 800g $19.99 ($24.99/kg) @ ALDI

170

Was in store today when i saw these , so this is not store specific.
Was not able to see these in catalogue.
Good solid chunks of this nut.
But its a pretty good value IMO (even better than the standard natural 400g macadamias by ALDI ($14.99). Definitely way better value than other big groceries stores (talking about for this product)
Either way macadamias are one of the most expensive nuts anywhere.
The PLU is 712129 (from receipt) if you need it.

Make sure to pay with eftpos SAV/CHQ or cash to avoid the 0.5% surcharge.

please note - spiel stolen from expired deal from January 2023

  • I went to my aldi to get some and it was sold out

    • Read all the comments and I have determined that you people are all nuts.

Good luck trying to find any…

available at Kippa Ring (QLD) store.

        Airfare kills the deal…

  • save 0.5% surcharge.

You're better off actually putting the $19.99 on credit card and paying the fee if you get 44 days interest free, and depositing the $19.99 in a high interest account.

    • Only if you don't have to pay tax on your interest income

      • True…

Good for people earning < $20K then.

        • Put it in an offset account?

I know others have claimed varying luck, but I personally buy from Nuts about Life when they hit their specials corner. There are a lot of fragments, but I just use those for baking and there are still plenty whole ones to distribute as snacks or otherwise use in my petty bourgeois foodie creations. There's very little dust so it's mostly usable stuff. Just grabbed 2kgs last week at $17.99/kg.

Why didn't you post the deal ?

      • Because when I checked out it said some things were out of stock and I didn't know whether the inventory was junk or not/if it would be sent and after being dispatched it was OOS.

            @jv: Unsalted Macadamia - Broken
            SKU: USMAC5642

Roasted and unsalted. Not sure why anyone would ever buy salted nuts since they're under salted at the top then the bottom is the dead sea.

              Because they taste better.

@jv: I don't disagree, but you can sprinkle it to your personal taste for about as close to free as it gets.

It won't stick to the nuts though…

@jv: Sticks to macs fine. They're quite an oily nut.

    • Darn have been waiting til this gets back in stock, missed out again! Definitely registered for the emails 🤔 did you actually get yours?

      • Yeah, I got mine, but as I said to @jv I got an error on checkout that made me leery of posting it here. I suspect I was just lucky and in the last of their supplies.

        • Nice snagging. Yep. Understandable 👍 will keep checking routinely. Did you stock up on anything else for the min shipping? Anything else you've found decent? Just got heaps last time they had maccas stock.

          • @Embaloo: I grabbed almond meal, cocoa and 5kgs of walnuts. I haven't used the cocoa yet, so I'll refrain from recommending that until I've baked with it. As for the rest, I use walnuts all the time in savoury and sweet dishes and if you grab the 5kg size I believe it's permanently fixed at their sale price. Almond meal is another versatile ingredient as it's an invaluable thickener for stews and curries and makes texturally delightful cakes. Fine polenta is another one of theirs I would buy again if I were through my current stock but I use less of it than the rest.

  • Supermarket macadamias are always stale or rancid. Best quality nuts are bought direct from the farm.
I usually get mine from Macadamias Australia, they’re expensive but I’d rather pay a bit more than to save a few dollars and eat rancid or soft nuts.

  • I had some of these last night, they were delicious, fresh and crunchy!
