    Is it safe

    • +12

      Fanatical are legit.

However you could also pay the extra $9 directly on Steam, if that's what you want. (Which I guess would include the <2 hour playtime refund)

    • +2

      Is it secret?

  • +15

what happened to no more pre-orders after numerous disasters?

  • +9

The reviews are great, but I'll wait for it around $50.

    • +1

How are the reviews great? Lots of outlets say it's buggy. Would wait for user reviews

  • -1

People who preorder digital editions of games are a special type of special.

    • +8

you can literally read reviews about it as we speak, what more do you want? wait to see if it wins an award?

      • +3

You can download the benchmark tool now too.

      • -7

JFC if you still think like this you deserve everything you get. "The reviewers say it's good so the game has to be good". Gamers with attitudes like yours are the reason we get shite served up to us on the regular, why bother releasing a polished product when you know the consumers will buy any old shite on launch.

        • +1

you still havent given an alternative, you think this is reddit where you just complain 24/7?

    • +5

      Wow someone hurt your feeling?

      • -6

Judging by the downvotes I'd hazard a guess that it's not my feefees that have been hurt :^)

        • Let people do whatever they want with their money, trust me you'll feel better 👍

    • +1

And then we people that care about what others do with their money. Those are something else entirely.

Personally, I don't care about any more souls-like games, other than the FromSoft ones. Let people live, it's not that deep.

  • +7

Hopefully comes to GoG. Really not a fan of Steam. I like owning the games I buy, not just a license linked to an account, and the idea the account gets deleted if I die (can’t pass it to a family member) sucks. And their questionable business practices…

    • +1

Finally someone else who feels the same. More people need to understand this.

If the credit value of your games all get extinguished when you die then that means anything you pirated can become a pool of debt that you owe that also gets extinguished when you die so your deceased estate won't need to treat it as a real debt and you haven't actually stolen anything.

      Long live GOG <3

      • +1

Yeah I always wonder how they deal with this

Would they really know if you die. I want it for 100 years at least

    • +3

They are currently deleting my Cyberpunk save games because they changed their cloud storage policy. I wouldn't bother with GOG again.
There's a reason steam is so popular.

      • Interesting. I'll have to look into that.

    • i respect people who are like this, but personally i just dont care. i dont replay games so it just doesnt affect me. i prefer having a better store with the features i like as well as a better client and i have more assurance steam will be around in 10 years, i have none of that in gog.

  • +1

Great reviews, seems safe. A few updates needed for sure.

    • Company placed an embargo on reviewers to only show footage from the first 2 chapters, not a great look imo.. Issues the reviewer noticed occur in chapter 3 onwards…

Numerous crashes & performance issues with a 4090…

      https://screenrant.com/black-myth-wukong-review/

Looking forward to buying & playing this game after it's had a few months of patches…

      • +2

you posted a review by screenrant, you high?

        • No idea who they are, simply read the words..

I fell for the BS Cyberpunk reviewers put out about it and bought the game, only to later realise it was all BS.

-These fatal flaws consist of frequent stuttering, severe lag, desynced audio, and terrible frame rates. Aside from the frustrating amount of stuttering, the frequent cutting of audio also heavily impacts your experience, especially during boss fights if you're relying on audio cues.

-With the recommended specs for the game that should allow for optimal performance, many areas from Chapter 2 onwards are entirely unplayable and become only marginally better when on the lowest graphic settings.

          • +2

@xuqi: screenrant rated a monkey beating demon with a big stick game based on " 'Lacking in inclusivity and diversity'"

does it not tell you something about the creditablity of this website?

to be clear I would rate this game average due to repeatitive game play (but i'd say the same about elden ring so this genre obviously isnt for me), but to rate a game (story based on a 16th century chinese novel) on "inclusivty and diversity" is beyond stupid.

      • -1

Pretty sure that was to avoid spoilers, not because they didn't want them to not show bugs.

  • +3

Really wish it was industry standard for high budget games to release a benchmark tool. Good on this developer though (Game Science.)

  • +3

Fantastic game, already pre-ordered on PS 5

    • +1

      Have you played it yet?

      • Release Tuesday, review seems decent and I like the story of the monkey king

  • +5

I legit don't understand the point of pre - ordering games other than it's pushed via marketing. I know there's always some rubbish "bonus" but it does not offset being able to purchase after seeing numerous impartial reviews.

    • +5

They might run out of stock of an infinitely reproducable no-cost item.

    • it had more of a case 10-15+ years ago when our internet was shitter than it is now and preorders generally had a preload period. depending on what website you purchased off the game itself could be cheaper in the weeks leading up to the release and then the price would increase once it was released

  • A lot of hypes on this game, hopefully it won’t disappoint.

    • +8

      It disappointed woke cultists.

      • +2

Yeah didn't they say no to SBI and they went the defamation route?

        • +1

Pretty much. So only buy woke disapproved games.lol

      • What is a woke cultist? Personally, I find both woke and anti - woke both cultists. The normal people in the middle don't think about it much.

        • Yup, I hate how every comment section on here is invaded by these American culture war muppets like the one above these days.

          • @Hawk Tuah: I get disappointed that our muppets follow American muppet's rubbish. Can't we make up our own conspiracy theories and get wound up by our own pointless culture war talking points? What happened to Australian creativity? It breaks my heart.

  • +6

    "Remember- no Preorders."

  • +1

PCGamer had to play this on medium settings with a 4090 says in their reviews. Very buggy at the moment maybe wait for Wankong

    • +1

      You know Wankong too?

  • What’s the deal with the ps5 copies being digital only?

I don’t see it anywhere else

    • +1

A physical version would probably have to pass cert and would likely serve only as an install disc, given disc streaming is quite a bit slower than SSD.

Another thing to note is that I don't think any of the review copies are PS5 versions, so many are speculating that it could very well be a shitshow on release.

      • I will wait a while and see how the reviews go

Don’t want a game full of bugs to ruin the experience

Especially these kind with a higher level of difficulty

It will do my head in if I die from a glitch

      • Just an FYI, AFAIK no games have run off of the discs since the 360/PS3 days. Files are simply too big to run off the disc. But physical media is still preferred by many as it ensures that they can still play the game even if the servees were to be shut down.

  • If you buy a .50c game on fanatical you can get a 5% off code to save $4.50 (you will have to wait for release as it doesn't apply to pre orders)

  • Is this a sequel to Wo Long?

    • +1

No. This is about Wukong the Monkey King. The other one sets in Han dynasty prelude the Three Kingdom War.

  • For anyone thinking of potentially going the physical route…there is none :|

Physical version just comes with the code. No official news when we will get CDs

    • Probably a good thing given the reports about how buggy the game is. A later physical release should be more stable.

  • looks super cool!

  • No SBI confirmed. Take my money!

  • Looks good, but also seems to run like a three-legged rocking horse. Wait to see launch performance in the wild at the very least.
