    Can’t go wrong with royale

Especially if it comes with cheese.

    • It even trumps the Royal Sampler

I went to buy a watch, and the man in the shop said ‘Analogue?’ I said ‘No, just a watch.'

Owned this for a few years, great watch. Would love to see the green map version this cheap at some point

    • Yeah i got the green map one, best colourway.
$40 is about the right price, I paid $29 from Ali (Manufacturer Direct Store) with new signup.
(just checked it out for you but all greyed out - can't ship to your address so maybe sold out ages ago).

    • I’m intrigued, got a pic?

      Do you mean this one?

      • Nah mate it's this one, go to the fifth across:
        https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006198675109.html

Better wear it today I guess, great watches for faffing about at home.
Got a tempered glass screen protector, sits flush so probably prefer the look without it but will keep on.

        • Oh, okay. Everyone always says Casio on AE is fake so I’d never have thought to look there.

          • @Chazzozz: Yeah mate it's not a bad policy because a lot of them would be for sure, that seller is good though, sometimes it works out cheap. I paid $18 US, Amazon's the go though and quicker

  • If you pair the AE1200 with a good-looking (simple) silicone strap, you have one of the most versatile travel watches. I reckon my 5AV with it's brown-ish bronze coloured frame and currently on a leather strap even looks good enough to wear on a night out.

My AE1000's gathering dust though - it doesn't look unique enough for me to want to wear it specifically and it competes with my G-shocks on days when I want a chunky looking watch.

    • Do you have any links for silicone straps for the watch? I think it would look excellent on aftermarket straps but finding ones which have 18mm lugs but the body of the strap fits the width of the case would be difficult

  • Are there any watches like this with compass instead of the world map suitable for a 10yr old? Something as user-friendly as possible.

  • For gym goers the Casio AE1300WH is worth getting as it's one of the few watches with a interval timer.
