Ted's is again currently running their 20% off all second hand products for the 2nd time this year. There's some extremely good decent deals in their second hand section, but your mileage may vary depending what system you shoot with.
Most items for the system I'm familiar with (L-Mount) are around or below the prices you can find on Facebook Marketplace, with the added bonus of all second hand goods coming with Ted's 12 month 2nd hand warranty.

Thoughts on what would be a reasonable camera for high-res product photos?
Most modern cameras would do a good job of this. I reckon even smartphones will do a good job, the reason being product photos typically need to be lit very well and when the lighting is good and the camera is fixed on a tripod, quality tends to be good.
I have thousands of dollars worth of camera gear… use my iPhone 14 Pro for product photography. Good lighting and a good backdrop does some real heavy lifting.
Tried with my pro max, lighting has been an issue with a wall as a back drop. Would an infinity wall and light stand do the trick?

Yeah , we have an old light tent setup , light from all sides shooting through a diffused tent. Item sits on ‘infinity’ background .
Then just post process with photoshop as required.
There are a heap of tutorial on YouTube to walk you through ideas and budgets
I'm surprised that there are some fairly reasonably priced items in the Sony range.
Ted's usually pretty overpriced
Although some of the items are lower priced than those you find in Marketplace, they did not describe the condition and post photos of the actual items.
i did get a secondhand canon r6 from them earlier this year when they also had a 20% off secondhand sale.
it came in perfect condition, no scratches at all but maybe i just got lucky.
Noticed that too. Lack of any detail regarding condition and actual product photos was a little off-putting.
In saying that the return policy seemed pretty flexible which was enough to convince me to risk it and grab a camera I’ve been eyeing off for a while.

I’m surprised it can still fetch this much , I remember getting it pretty much on release all those years ago, value for money performance wise was unreal.
