Have been a fan of the old Cosco light weight 2 and 3 step ladders that Bunnings use to sell. Looking for something just as good and affordable. Anyone got any suggestions with what's a good alternative these days?
Light Weight 2 or 3 Step Ladder
Comments
IKR. I told my wife that we needed to get another step ladder so we're not lugging our 2 step cosco up and down stairs all the time. This was when the cosco 3 step was ~$40 at Bunnings. She bitched about having too much stuff in the house.
Fast forward 2year and we're about to move into a much larger home and she says we need another light weight step ladder. I tell her that the cosco ones are no longer sold in this country and that all the options I've found so far are either not as light or of poor build quality.
She says we'll just use the 4 or 5 step ladder I have in the garage… she then lifts it up and says it's heavy. I told her of course… it's not designed for daily use in the kitchen or reaching the top wardrobe shelves.
And she says I don't plan ahead with my purchases.
You may be able to sell her on a Traderight with that foam handle that doesn't mark your walls?
These I presume:

Looks a little heavier than she wants.
The Cosco was really the perfect indoor step ladder given how light they were.
@Mugsy: Traderight is 3kg but it's rated at 150kg vs the Cosco 100kg
@sumyungguy: I must have read the wrong thing on my other screen… thought it was 4.1kg weight.
The Traderight actually looks pretty decent.
Just saw you had posted a Catch link above that is cheaper than Kogan for the 3 step.
This might be a winner! Cheers bud!
EDIT: Yeah, my bad… I was looking at the 4 step ladder that is 4.3kg but thought it was the 3 step ladder:

@sumyungguy: Good price… though, I'll probably get the 3 step from catch.
The one in the garage is about 5kg in weight and whilst it's a 3 step, it's 1.5m high already.
The 3 step is the right weight and size for the downstairs kitchen/laundry/wife's art room.
I'll leave the current 2 step for upstairs use.
We use this from Costco - I bought one at regular price ($79.99 in-store), and grabbed another when it was sub-$40. I'd happily pay full price for it though. Lightweight and easy to fold away with just one hand (if using your body)

If you can find it, the Werner StepRight 223-6AZ steel 3 step is little heavier but much safer and more solid than the Bunnings Syneco (which we also have)
we've got one of these for the kitchen, it is 20+ years old
note it is 'one sided', the lower step is only on one side, the other side is rounded over and not a step (although I have a few times)

.The three step traderight ladder came and it's definitely the perfect size/height/weight indoor step ladder to complement the 2 step cosco one we have.
The only issue I have with it is that the cosco is easier to open and fold away due to the latch/lever it has on the top step. But I think the traderight is the best of the currently available options.
I think we've found our cosco step ladder replacement!
That Cosco one was a fabulous lightweight version at a never repeated price. Closest thing I can see from a quick search is Werner: or Syneco or Traderight which comes in 3/4/5/6 step versions
