$12 Cashback on Boost 70GB 28-Day Prepaid SIM Starter Pack for $12 Delivered @ Cashrewards

1550

FREE Boost SIM after cashback. Cashrewards hasn't mentioned that the SIM must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable yet. It may be a new Boost term but it hasn't been included in Cashrewards T&Cs at the moment. TA's comment: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15597173/redir

Please note that letting the number expire and not recharging is eligible for cashback.

Deactivate means requesting Boost to remove the number or porting out.

What you need to know

  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. Adding more than one SIM to an order will result in an untracked purchase.
  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.
  • Cashback is ineligible on recharges, phones, bundles, accessories, eSIMs, plans or products not listed in the cashback table of rates, use of codes not listed on Cashrewards, and purchases via the Boost app.
  • You must return and click through Cashrewards for each new transaction.

Boost:

  • 70GB on activation for new customers. 25GB on next recharge. Activate by 21 October 2024.
  • SIM offer ends 19 August 2024.
  • From 22 October 2024, this recharge will increase to $39.

  • Hmmmm does letting it expire count as deactivated?

    • +11

No. Letting it expire and not recharging is fine for cashback. I had confirmed with TA on a previous TCB offer.

Deactivate would be requesting Boost to remove the number or porting out. However both Cashrewards and ShopBack haven't included this new term in their Boost offers yet.

Cheers OP. Good time to compare to Aldi (Telstra Wholesale)

    • +2

Boost may be better than ALDI, depending on your location. Boost operates over the full Telstra network.

All Telstra MVNOs run on the 'Telstra Wholesale' network, with the lone exception of Boost Mobile (which operates over the full Telstra network). While Telstra’s full network reaches 99.6% of the population, the wholesale version covers 98.8%. It might not seem like a huge difference, but it means Telstra MVNOs other than Boost might not be an option for customers in some regional or rural areas.

      • I think JB is also the full Telstra network

    • Out of all the carriers Telstra is the worst for me

  • I do find reception poor at my place and also CB tracking has been abysmal. But still tempted to try my luck

    • +1

Just bought this Boost SIM via the Cashrewards app and it tracked in 2 minutes! Hope this will track for you. I'm using Telstra mobile data and paused the antivirus app.

Cashrewards customer service seems responsive and helpful if there are any issues.

I'm in the metro area and find Telstra > Boost > Amaysim.

      • +1

        Will give it a go

      • +3

Wow Boost let me buy a SIM again!

      • I purchased and activated Boost in mid June. Cashrewards tracked straight away, but is still pending.

I've found Boost reception to be quite good though.

  • Is this only for SIM or eSIM as well. I can't seem to purchase an eSIM without the boost app.

    • Not for eSIM purchase. However you may still receive cashback when you buy the physical SIM and convert to eSIM after activating as reported here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15567223/redir

      As per the post description:

But but but I used get paid to buy this SIM.

  • +2

    Cheers. Grabbed a few

    • do you get multiple cash backs?

Will need them for my free trackerone GPS trackers lol

        • How did you get free trackerone GPS trackers?

  • Hmm, so cant port out at the end of 28 days…

  • So, what's the best strategy to make the most of these cashbacks/deals on going? Is there only one cashback per person per month or something? What about getting the $12 over and over again? My primary number is with Telstra year long pre-paid.

    • +1

what's the best strategy to make the most of these cashbacks/deals on going?

I buy when I need data for a spare phone. I'm with Telstra on my main phone.

Is there only one cashback per person per month or something? What about getting the $12 over and over again?

There isn't a limit from the cashback companies. However Boost may block you from buying too many SIM cards with the Sorry, something went wrong message. Some customers can buy more than others. Each purchase has to be made separately for cashback: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15597618/redir

That's really helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to write it out simply. There is so much info out there. So I could buy a few and activate them before The Activation deadline, as long as they are separate transactions?

Do I have to create a new login with boost each time?

        • +1

So I could buy a few and activate them before The Activation deadline, as long as they are separate transactions?

Yes, separate transactions for cashback. Each SIM card must be activated separately with a different new number within 30 days of ordering for cashback.

Do I have to create a new login with boost each time?

No, you use the same login and ID. That's how Boost knows how many SIM cards were purchased and can restrict the amount you buy.

If you encounter the Sorry, something went wrong message while trying to activate, you would have to contact Boost support (via live chat) to activate for you.

  • Unable to place order.
Annoying, seems to happen so often.

Will have to try again later

    • +1

Was VPN causing it for me

      • Im using mobile, via cashrewards app

        • @taoz Is Boost blocking you from placing the order with Sorry, something went wrong message?

I placed an order via the Cashrewards app and it tracked in 2 minutes. I'm using Telstra mobile data and paused the antivirus app.

          • @trixieb: Yea ..had that message each time there is a promo on phone and on desktop.

I have nothing running that would stop it to my knowledge

            • @taoz: Same on my end. Received same error message. I am not able to make the order even if I changed phone number, delivery address, or email address

          • @trixieb: What antivirus app do you use? I use Avast no problem with cashback trackings via Chrome mobile browser.

    • Me neither……

    • How about mobile browser like Chrome mobile?

      • Same

  • Can I just use this so I can get a 'first time order' on all the food apps? Assuming I can let this expire and just use it as a burner number simply to receive texts?

    • +6

Yes, that’s what a lot of true OzBargainers do.

    • +1

      Yes :)

    • +2

Can I just use this so I can get a 'first time order' on all the food apps?

Other members have mentioned using a new email and new mobile number:

Assuming I can let this expire

Letting it expire and not recharging is fine for cashback.

just use it as a burner number simply to receive texts?

You have 6 months to receive texts before the number expires automatically.

From Boost: If your phone isn’t recharged for a period of 6 months it will be deemed inactive and you will lose your number.

      • You have 6 months to receive texts before the number expires automatically

Amaysim #s: same as Boost, 6mth receiving text ? Thanks

And with this knowledge you may now begin making your spreadsheets

    Bought and tracked immediately

  • If its not in the CR terms then surely it can't be enforced yet?

    • Possibly.

  • I’ve missed Boost Mobile…

  • +11

I wish these deals will come back monthly. Don't need to make a profit, just 1 sim free each month for my data is good enough.

    • Same

    • Profit sim-hoarders: GREED has consequences… now that Boost will enforce SOME-checking, lets see how many LEGIT-buyers randomly get caught out due to system-errors…watch this space.
Notice that Amaysim buyers randomly commented on their FAILED money-back claims ?

  • how many of these can i buy lol

    • +2

As many as Boost allows you until you get the Sorry, something went wrong message. Some customers can buy more than others. Each purchase has to be made separately for cashback: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15597618/redir

Perfect timing for upcoming road trip

  • Hi there, I don’t see $12 for 70gb under the cashback rates.
    I only see:
    $17 back on $45
    $12 back on $35 <- is this the $12 70gb?

    Thanks!

    • $12 back on $35 <- is this the $12 70gb?

Yes. Cashrewards will link to the Boost website that also shows the picture of the 70GB SIM card with $35 on it.

      • +1

amazing thank you! I wasn't sure that the $35 is now discounted to $12!

  • +3

boost is back! tracking email received straight away

  • As always.

Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later.

    Probably get blacklisted

    • Oh no! Have you bought several Boost SIM cards recently?

Did you try changing your email, manually typing your address or payment card?

      • Had been a year I think.

        Changing email will work?

        • It may work on its own or in conjunction with the above changes.

          • @trixieb: I can confirm if I change everything except my Legal name and phone number.

            Still won't work.

nvm I will stick with felix…

            Thanks bro.

            • +3

@solacens: Hope you will be released from Boost jail soon :(

Some members here had changed their names and phone numbers slightly when they were blocked and were able to place the order. Boost seems to only check IDs when activating, not when placing the order.

              • +1

@trixieb: Good tip. Shall try this thanks.

              • @trixieb: Your thoughts on 'NEW Boost customers' criteria ?

I recalled someone here commented that this criteria has ALWAYS been listed, but NOT-enforce…likely to change soon ?

                Boost: 'NEW customers only'-> https://boost.com.au/?utm_id=313&cfclick=970865a1db0746eeb2c…
CashRewards: 'Tips to get cashback…Read store special terms'-> https://www.cashrewards.com.au/store/boost-mobile
ShopBack: 'Special notes from store…Cashback is applicable only to New Boost customers.'-> https://www.shopback.com.au/boost-mobile
                TopCashback: silent-> https://www.topcashback.com.au/boost-mobile/

                • @ab c: NEW Boost customers = NEW mobile number

It has been mentioned on OzB and I've checked with Telstra/Boost. As long as you get a new mobile number, you are considered a new Boost customer and will be eligible for cashback. Hence you cannot use your existing number (or use the SIM as a recharge) for cashback.

                  • @trixieb: Thanks for clarification of EXISTING Boost-practice of NOT-enforcing this criteria.
Pls note that a layman-person interpretation of 'NEW Boost customers' is obvious…read that phrase again.
If Boost decided to enforce this criteria, then it's most likely that the Telecommunication-Ombudsman will be on Boost-side & people can't complain that the phrase can be interpreted-differently, eg NEW mobile number

Also, note that when you order Boost sim: you must supply name, address & DOB. Your ID can-be validated by Boost…anyone did online validation recently & got your ID-validated INSTANTLY eg Boost/Amaysim ID-check, NEW bank account creation etc ? Source includes Driver Licenses etc. Simply put…pls don't abuse the system.

May I ask, what motive you to spend considerable time & effort @ OzBargain ?

                    Btw, my 14-Aug-24 CR-Boost sims: separate-purchases & tracked-INSTANTLY & thanks-OP.
My 11-Aug-24 CR-Amaysim purchase FAILED to track within 2 days.
                    My 8-Aug-24 CR-Amaysim purchase: ….CashRewards is consistently IN-consistent 🤣 🫣

              • @trixieb:

Some members here had changed their names and phone numbers slightly when they were blocked and were able to place the order

May be such comments is bad for the money-back system…what happen if EVERYONE abuse these system ?

    • +2

I was blacklisted from activating them for about a year but tried again last week and worked , seems I'm off the list

  • +1

Using Cashrewards app, first attempt "Try again later", second attempt successful and tracked in minutes. Maybe time for double dipping at TCB now lol.
Update: Bought one more, also went through and tracked.

  • +3

Been blacklisted for over a year. Made one order just then and went through. Tried a second order and got the Something Went Wrong again. Lol

  • Anyone know of a good deal for a burner phone i recently got? I just want to keep it alive annually, maybe make the odd text or phone call if possible but not
    absolutely needed
