Or 208 at Officeworks. Refurb or new for 20 bucks difference?

Not really a bargain, new units have been significantly cheaper in the last few months.

  • Just got email that my old folks Telstra TV roku boxes will die out soon so thinking i'll need to bite the bullet for this or similar.
they're looking at hubbl boxes cause binge is spamming them offers but feel like that'll die soon anyway

From anecdotal feedback from friends that got sucked in by the Hamish and Andy ads, Hubbl boxes are crap.

Telstra TV Roku boxes are being replaced by Telstra with Fetch Boxes, aren't they? Telstra bought Fetch as a majority shareholder hence why the Roku boxes are no longer a thing from them.
Wouldn't touch Hubbl boxes, just take a look at the reviews on Trust Pilot.

      • yeah not keen on hubbl but telstra just abandoned the roku thingys or will do in october so need something better/alternative. GoogleTV or Fire was the other cheaper option but apple seems to have it better etc.

        • Either Apple TV or wait for Google's new TV steamer

        • I guess it also depends if you want a box purely to switch on to use apps (Apple TV) or a box that stays on whenever watching everyday TV (Freeview).
I have both the Apple TV and Fetch TV, but I use the Fetch a lot more as it is on whenever the TV is on (live Freeview pause is handy + streaming pay TV) as I find that integration handy, but everyone's use is different, no right or wrong :)
For those that don't watch Freeview it probably doesn't matter.

        • Every Fire I've had (two sticks and a cube) has failed or had the remote gone flaky. Done with that, switched to ATV about a year ago.
