Laundry Appliances for New Home Bosch Vs Beko

Hi Guys,

Currently in the process of moving into our new duplex and I'm stuck between going for the value option brand or the one that has the reliability but higher price point and need some advice…

Small household so the machine won't be abused but I'm happy to pay for better quality and longevity to avoid similar mishaps that I've had with both LG & Samsung front loaders in my previous household.

Bosch combination

Bosch Series 8 Washing Machine, Front Loader 9 kg 1400 rpm WGG244A0AU $1599

Bosch Series 8 Heat Pump Tumble Dryer 8 kg WQG235D8AU $1599

Beko combination

Beko 9kg Autodose WiFi Connected Washing Machine with Steam BFLB904ADW $979

Beko 9kg Sensor Controlled WiFi Connected Hybrid Heat Pump Dryer with Steam BDPB904HW $1092

Similar features on both so I'm keen to here from any users with first hand experience of either brand to help provide some advice as Choice and Product review keep offering conflicting arguments on customer service with Beko or quality of the equipment itself

choice is not a longevity test. it is an initial review. I would take it with a grain of salt.

my haier front loader has been going strong for 6 years .

I'd consider one of those again when I need to replace.

Otherwise, my previous LG lasted 15 years - it was an absolutely workhorse - 3 kids/ multiple loads per day.

I used to repair washing machines - Beko - i replaced a lot of seals. or tried to repair niggling issues.

the steam function is another thing to go wrong, it's unnecessary and personally I'd avoid that brand.

  • I've seen a lot of conflicting reviews on Bosch/Miele with regards to their reliability. I went the cheap Haier option and had no problems since getting it 3 years ago.

    • Bosch/Miele are good when you are selling houses tho :)

  • Considered purchasing Bosch about twelve months ago but went 7.5KG Beko washer myself. Cost of the Beko being very attractive, reviews are good and warranty is good. 100% happy and no complaints - don't feel like if I had a Bosch my life would be any different.

Purchased a heat pump dryer aswell - Estatto for the record, just went cheap as didn't think we would use it. Ended up we use it daily now and are happy with it but maybe a better one with more sensors would be good, (ie. auto off when dry) if I had my time again I'd go Beko but I am happy and do rate the Estatto for anyone reading this.

  • I've only ever used a Beko condenser dryer which has been working pretty well the last 6 years. The price is definitely more attractive.

Bosch from what I've read are pretty solid (at least the models built in Germany). I was looking at the Series 8 models too recently as I'm looking to get a heat pump dryer to replace my condenser one. I'm probably going to go with the Miele T1 Heat Pump Dryer and W1 Washing Machine myself, but Bosch would be a great choice if you get that over the Beko.

  • I've just bought all new kitchen appliances (range hood, oven, cooktop, dishwasher).
We had a great sales guy at HVN. The final choice came down to AEG & Bosch which were similar prices. In his words "last month I would have chosen Bosch because of the promotion they were having. This month it's AEG because of longer warranty and better after sales service.

We have Bosch Series 8 dishwasher & clothes washer in the other place and they aren't amazing but get the job done.

  • Have the Samsung WW12BB944DGH 12kg Bespoke Front loader Washing machine and the Samsung DV90BB9440GH 9kg Heatpump dryer. Matching pair, Work seamlessly together and electricity usage is minimal. With feed-in tariffs being so low it makes no sense to hang clothes up to dry any more. Would recommend.

  • BEKO has 5 year manufacturer warranty (2 Years + 3 Years by registration)

    • I reckon this will sway to decision towards BEKO.

It can't be rubbish if they are happy to warranty it for 5 years.

    Bosch washing machine - 100%. I have a Serie 8 and it's a great unit.

But I've had both the Bosch and Beko heat pump dryers… honestly the Beko dried faster and was simpler to get going. Bosch can be quite slow sometimes.

  • I did contemplate going Samsung but I guess my view is that whatever brand I purchase I want to have the matching pair…

Beko I don’t have any first hand experience or personal stories aside from Bing Lee mentioning it to me yesterday so whilst it has superior warranty the customer service is the deal breaker…

  • Your mileage may vary, but my first Miele washer faulted for the first time after 32 years, my Miele condensor dryer after 27 years.

  • One of the problems with people telling you how well their machine has been running for 5/10/15 years is that stuff was better made back then.

Always be sure to compare model numbers like for like.

    • Yeah I know, I haven’t heard anything bad from family that are using Bosch but I also don’t want to be a Guinea pig for a no name brand.

Hard to find a balance between good programs and how long I should expect to dry some loads etc

    • Bosch says the average lifespan of their washing machines is 11 years. Miele still tests washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers to the equivalent of 20 years average use. I rate the difference significant…

  • I own Bosch serie 6 washer and heat pump dryer, can't fault the dryer but the washer shit itself just after the warranty expired. To their credit, Bosch did still warrant the repairs

    • Did you buy another Bosch or would you go for a different brand in the event of another failure ?

      • I'll buy Bosch again when it comes time to replace my ageing dishwasher

  • Bosch are now made in China ( cheaper version) so check which model you are after.

    • Looking at series 8 which is all made in Germany but that being said a lot of china made stuff is sometimes better quality!

      • And they proudly state it on the front of the machine. "Made In China" is usually only on the plate at the back. Telling, for non-Chinese brands.

  • Thanks all, pretty decided on the Bosch just weighing up what differences in the dryer before buying from appliances online.

Fingers crossed I make the right decision!
