  • In march 2024, you offered 30% off and now 25% off.

    • Easter is the Boxing Day of tyre sales

  • Combine with amex $100 off $400

Nah. For 225 45 R19 (Kumho PS71), mycar is 25% more expensive than competitors after the 25% offer.

Please name the competitor, wondering if I should get this or wait for black friday.

      • Tempe Tyres (NSW) 15% cheaper than this deal at $219, and previously I called one of the local ones around Hurstville (forgot which one) and they could beat that price by $10.

        • +1

For my 225 55 R18's, this deal works out $1 more per tyre than Tempe Tyres. TT are great, but you gotta be onto them about the age of the tyres they put on. They have been known to use old 2-3 year old tyres. Ask the age of the tyres before they install them, and check the date on the tyre wall after install then you are good to go.

          • @hornoscous: I went to Tempe Tyre just the once for a different car recently - just checked the dates and they would have been about 18 months old. Welp.

  • My local mycar told me just last week they didnt sell kumho and they were being phased out because mycar now sell their own brand of tyres. Is this true, or were they taking me for a ride?

      https://www.mycar.com.au/tyres/mycar/avandra-my1

Powered by Continental. From long countrywide drives, to wanting peace of mind in downpours around town, avandra tyres openly deliver the confidence and versatility drivers need. Comes with a 50,000km mileage guarantee when purchased with a wheel alignment.

If you buy 2, you get free wheel alignment

      • Oh yes, i know they sell their own brand.. i had to buy one to replace a bubble in my tyre wall fron the pirelli black friday deal. Gah. It was more i was questioning whether they are getting rid of kumho. I wanted a kumho tyre to replace my pirelli since i never had an issue with kumho, but they told me they didn't have them anymore as they were being phased out

        • Ill probably try the Avandra next time. 50000km warranty sounds good. Its either 2 back tyres for $220 (random chinese brand no warranty) or 2 Avandra for $304 after amex cashback and they guarantee them for 50000km and you get a free alignment and rotation every 6 months

          • @easternculture: There is no way you're getting a free alignment every 6 months. Where does it state this?

            • @howcan: Im my email

              • +1

@easternculture: Free balance and rotation. Alignment will be extra though. Would by in a heartbeat if alignment is included!

              • @easternculture: That email doesn't even reference alignments. Unfortunately there is no free alignment included either at fitment or at any set intervals afterwards.

                • +1

@howcan: Yeah , sorry , for some reason my brain interpreted balance as alignment for a minute

              • @easternculture: Yeah that's not free alignment. Only rotations. And you need to purchase the alignment to get the 50k guarantee (like Bridgestone TS+)

      • If you buy 2, you get free wheel alignment

Where does it state buying 2 gets you a free alignment?

  • Uncompetitive.

    $103 (118 + 15% off) at Tyroola without fitting, $124 at tempe

  • Just so people know, here are the treadwear ratings I got from a Kumho rep via email inquiry:

    • HS63 – 400 UTQG
    • KH32 – 480 UTQG
    • PS31 – 460 UTQG
    • TA21 – 540 UTQG
    • PA51 – 500 UTQG <— available @ mycar
    • PS71 – 320 UTQG <— available @ mycar
    • HS51 – replaced by HS52 – 380 UTQG <— available @ mycar

These are the only ones I enquired about.

    • Learnt something new today, thanks!
Can't wait to get home and see what my quality 'Far Roads' rate.
Now awaiting land fill after replacing them with Kumhos

  • I had to change my tyres last week due to a tyre bulge, asked mycar if they could fit tyres that I would source from elsewhere (because mycar essentially bumps up the price rrp of the tyres by about 1.4 times - $366/corner at tyroola vs $509 at mycar), they replied with a hard no despite the tyres being exactly the same.

I'd pass on anything to do with mycar thanks.

    • Not much profit for fit customer provided tyres. Why would they do this when they're busy with a sale atm? I found local tyre shops to be much cheaper for fitting than BJ, Jax, Mycar etc. Back in the old days when AUD was stronger and importing made sense i bought a few sets from tirerack.com

      • -1

Ahh yes a tyre on sale from mycar is ($254) while a it can be found for ($208 + 15% off 4 on tyroola making it $176.8) when not on sale.

A sale on inflated items just brings it back down to rrp lol but in this case it's still more expensive after sale hahaha, but nice….

        • Imagine getting negged for finding a better bargain on ozbargain
