Russell Hobbs Distinctions Kettle Titanium $49 + Del ($0 C&C) @ JB Hi-Fi / $49 + Del @ Appliance Wholesale Partner via Catch

140

Got one of these at home with good build quality and premium look. It might not be for you if you don't like the top handle. Another con is it's hard to see the water mark under 0.75L.

$29 with the $20 perks voucher is making it a cracking deal. Was $129.

Catch also has it for $49, but not covered by OnePass, as it is sold by a marketplace partner.

we've got one. It's quiet. you need to let it sit for ~10s when boiled before pouring or it bubbles out. We refill via spout as the popping the top off to refill is a little clumsy with the top handle.

But it works well, fairly sturdy and the looks gets the W.A.F. tick

    • Didn't think to refill it from the spout, thanks for the tip, will give it a go.

    • Is there a filter in it, when you refill from the spout are you pouring water onto the filter from the outside?

      • yes there is a filter..So I'm guess you'd be washing the filter contents back into the kettle (or cleaning it) we dont get much calcium carbonate in our water, so theres barely anything in the filter/kettle dregs.

I don't know man..I tried hard to like this design, viewing from all angles etc., but it just so damn ugly. Like a stumpy urn with a defective wonky handle. Maybe if the big handle followed the arc of the lid handle it might work, but..aaaarrgghh!

    • It looks like it belongs on a camp 🔥

Coincidentally I picked one up last week after the old kettle started leaking. The angled handle isn't great at keeping it level when filling it to the max mark, needing to put it on a level surface to check. Also the fill level indicator is in an awkward position to view when holding it. It's footprint is larger than a typical 1.7l kettle but it's also just as tall due to the handle.
It's quiet and quick to boil. Good but for the price and likely reduced due to the aforementioned short comings.

  • Noting the RRP on Catch is straight $69, which is nearly half of the JB's RRP.

    $29 sounds good.

  • When did they send the voucher

  • Not actually titanium :-(

Hiking in the mountains once, there was another guy with actual titanium cookware, I was so jealous.

  • Why is jb perks only $10 now?
