Coffee-king? No free Trump bobble-head, MAGA cap or keyring with every order?

I'm no solar expert but why would you advertise a 3 phase system and specify it needs to be a single phase site?

    • +1

Sorted. It's for 3 phase houses.

  • How much for 6.6kwh? 3 phase

    • Hi, $4500.

  • +3

    Any bargain?

  • A 13kw system for $5.5k and 10 year warranty on the inverter seems too good to be true !

    • If they still exist for 10 years

      • True but the manufacturer should still be there ?

        • Jinko and Growatt have been in Australia longer than us. Reputable brands that haven't 'just started out'.

          • @Coffee-King: I'm in SA and in no way connected to the OP but will vouch for my jinko/growatt combination. Absolutely fautless.

            • @Bruceflix: Yeah they're both consistently in the top 3 brands for volume, panels and inverter, both in Australia, and worldwide. How old is your system?

      • We've been around since 2012. That's longer than 95% of solar retailers in Australia. Given that, and only 5 star reviews from buying customers, it's safe to say we aren't fly-by-nighters.

    • These blokes are legends, you don't need to worry!

Appreciate it. Might be time to blow the dust off the Mic and get the podcast cracking again.

  • Can we add a battery to this system?

    • This inverter isn't a hybrid inverter, but if AC coupled batteries, and Energex allows it, you could. Or you could get a 3 phase hybrid inverter and batteries for it at a later date.

  • have a 3phase Jinko / Growatt 6.6kw system over 4 years, working good , app good.
if keep the old system and upgrade to 13.5kw, how much cost?

  • better value to get this, and take it to 20 if you're a heavy consumer.

How much for similar sized system with single phase, with sungrow inverter (same Jinko panels) ?

  • How much with sungrow inverter instead?

    • Hi, If you don't like the Growatt inverter included in the promo, feel free to leave your details and if we have stock left, we can try another inverter combination with the panels tailored to your home. https://queenslandsolarandlighting.com/solar-quote/

  • I'm building a house at the moment, when is the best time to engage with you to discuss the solar installation?

    • If it's double-storey, the time may have already passed for a 'pre-wire' meaning external conduit. But Ideally you'd want Solar panels installed and ready to go as close as possible to settlement. You can fill this out https://queenslandsolarandlighting.com/contact-us and we can give you quote.

Before, insulation, plaster and render if you want everything neat and internal.

  • Just a technical question. Why is there an additional charge for a tiled roof?

    • +3

It's most likely because of how easy it is for tiles to get damaged during the installation process and the extra effort they are to work with compared to clipping on to a colourbond roof

    • I believe they have to fit special/ different rafter brackets that hold the panel rails and there's extra work grinding out the back of the roof tiles a bit so they sit down properly on top of said brackets.

  • Any chance you have any 3 phase hyrbid inverters with this package?

  • +1

good price but unfortunately we are living in NSW, will wait for NSW deals , thumbs up for OP.

The installation company, Queensland Solar Power and Lighting, has very good reviews on this widely used and popular website:-
    https://www.solarquotes.com.au/installer-review/queensland-s…

  • I have a small warehouse/retail business. This going to be ok for that type of use case instead of residential purposes?

If it turns out my power meter is not good enough to handle a solar install is that something you guys can sort? Obviously at additional cost.

  • What is the discount and how long is this offer for?

  • -1

I would be very careful with solar power installation. The regulation is getting very muddy at the moment and the proposed “sun tax” is very unclear. If I have to install one, would probably go for a very small system that I know potentially only export minimum excess power to the grid, unlike this 13kW system which I think is massive for a residential home. Of course if my daily use is close to 13kW every hour during the day, this would fit nicely. More likely to wait till I can afford solar power + battery storage.

    • Imho, a 13kW system would be appreciated if you have family members working from home, staying at home during the day, or if you own one or two EVs.

      • or a swimming pool being filtered or heated, or crypto miners, or Ducted AC units being pumped. Quite a few reasons.

    • Terracotta tiles: We no longer do

What's the deal with Terracotta? I've had other installers refuse to quote, one added $3k to the quote just because of it!

I didn't pick Terracotta, it was just on the house when I bought it.

    • They've got advantages such as never fading. The reddish colour you have will be the same throughout the lifespan of the roof.

    • I heard from installer that it is to do with the risk of person slipping being very high on terracotta tiles.

    • fat ass installers break them and have to replace them

    • Solar installer here.

      tl;dr
      * More tasks involved
      * More difficult to complete
      * More time required
      * More dangerous to work on
      * More potential for things to go wrong

We'll need some additional compensation for that extra stress and additional effort, thanks.

If it wasn't harder than a tin roof, and we'd finish at the same time, then we would not feel the need to charge you extra.

      • yes, and also the Tile racking kit are cost more to purchase than a tin kit.

  • OP, is there any chance of still obtaining this deal?

    • +1

yes, please fill out form or call us.
