      Which they've now changed, surprise!

Listed for $19 on Gumtree too

Neg for creating a separate link just for OzB members with a fake "Was" price as mentioned above by m9.

No bargain here just fake jacked adz.

    • +2

      This is pretty unconscionable stuff!

    • The $14.50 listing has a $14 per item delivery fee, for a total of $28.50 each delivered. This $23.48 listing has $0 delivery fee, for a total of $23.48 each delivered.

I don't like fake "Was" prices because it's trying to create hype in order to get sales. As mentioned by m9 it wasn't $80 because the other link shows it for less after postage is added.

    • unbelievable!

Seen this posted a few times and rejected previously. Not entirely sure the OP is here for the ozbargain community.

    • +1

I think it was cheaper but with ridiculous delivery of $18 or something.

    • just an FYI their previous deal posts were taken down because the store rep had to be coached on how to write proper deal titles (e.g being told not to use ALLCAPS and avoiding the spammy marketing speak). That is the only reason and nothing else.

In some cases we edit the deal to a proper title but if we see the rep has been posting for years and still don't get it right, their deal is taken down so that they can learn how to write a better title.

No deal - should be banned

  • +2

Misleading the community as per M9. Neg.

  • +2

Neg as per m9s comment. Dodgy rep behaviour with price jacking to mislead people into thinking this is a bargain. Issue with rep

Thanks for posting and promptly logging off too.

I can only assume that they've failed to portray that the 'free' (not free) delivery is the deal here.

OP, you would have been better being more transparent and stating that you've reduced the total price to $23.38 delivered, beating the previous deal of $28.50 delivered. Not creating an artificial RRP and 'free' delivery.

  • -1

The RRP has always been $80 and product sold in the open market place - this offer is new and only available at ozbargain.com.au - other offers have been superseded - Grant @ Habitat & Style

    • +1

So did you previously sell it at $80? Or are you just basing the "was $80" on the RRP?

  • -2

it has been sold at $80 through our retail store and that has been the RRP for more than 1 year

  • +1

Probably needs a ban tbh, dodgy link with fake rrp.

  • +1

This type of shenanigans should earn them an instant perma ban

  • +1

Wow… that is a train wreck. issue with retailer based on fake "was" with setting up a link just for the purpose of posting it on OzBargain to make a substantial profit over the other link.

  • -1

Not so - whilst I am am computer dinosaur and made errors in preparing this offer … this is a genuine reduction from a long posted RRP to have a look at what could be attractive on ozbargain.
Am a little disappointed with some comments, as every seller will make limited time offers to the market place - that does not make that the everyday price

      (Was $80)

So you're blaming the community for how poorly this went even though it wasn't selling for $80. The other link clearly shows… $14.50 + $14 delivery… total $28.50.

This isn't a website for free advertising, it's a community website for sharing bargains. Thanks for gaslighting us.

  • Not Advertising and not trying to anything more than making a genuine offer following a reduced cost offer from the importer … all other offers that were in the marketplace were no longer valid … and apologise if this has caused anyone any angst
