  • Had to click the link to see these are headphones/buds. Was wondering what they were.

imagine buying this.. and actually finding "nothing" in the box !

Amazon complaints rep: so let me get this right, you ordered nothing, and now your upset that you received nothing? Riiiight.
Well. Sorry sir, nothing I can help you with…

The reviewer said that he found nothing impressive.

  • I see nothing.. And I do nothing…

Move along, Nothing to see here folks.

  • I think I found the bargain Dads come to tell their jokes.

You maybe right, son. But nothing to go crying to mum about.

There's nothing you can do to stop me… Dad

  • Picked these up recently. Absolutely insane for the price. Pretty much unanimously praised from all review sources and rivals even the flagship buds from Samsung, Sony and Sennheiser for much less.

    • better than Sony WF-1000XM?
      NC level? battery life?

yeah that's what I heard when researching the new Nothing ears and exactly what I thought, but I commented this (they are really good performers for the price) on a recent alternative in ear TWS deal and was told it was actually the opposite? (that reviews mostly said they are bad performers)

talking about the new Nothing Ear models btw, I do remember some negatives mentioned in reviews for the original Nothing ear's.

but interesting how two users can browse the internet and end up with two completely different views on the same product. either they were recommended with negative reviews because they were an audiophile or maybe just didn't want to suggest something else was "good" on their own post. don't really know.

Picked these up during the prime day sales for the same price and yeh they are pretty good. Great sound quality for the price plus great app and customisability.
If you're a basshead these are definitely the ones to buy. Much more bass than any other wireless buds I've tried (I've tried a lot) and that's thanks to the app.

I paid $207.00 express shipping ~4 weeks ago with a smaller store phonex.au looks like they are oos now though.

My quick thoughts align with the other commenters, these produce really good audio quality, the bass is superb.

Although nobody seems to be talking about how dogshit the Active Noise Cancellation is on these Earbuds.

I use these on the train daily, recently I have been listening to audio books. The ANC for some reason will pick up the noise of people speaking on the train playing them in my ear, literally yesterday I could hear a man in front of me turning over his newspaper in my ear! while playing an audiobook.. I can also hear the train announcement "Next station…"

Wind is another annoyance, walking outside the ANC will constantly turn on and off when the wind blows (even light wind) one second you cant hear too much noise, the next ANC is turned off and you can hear everything, then it quickly turns back on.. really annoying.

I have ensured my earbuds are fully updated, and I have tried all different settings to try fix these issues.
My complaints are not isolated just to myself, lots of other people on Reddit are bringing up similar points

I would personally not have purchased these earbuds if I had researched enough to find the above.

    • Ear 1, Ear 2, or Ear 2024? they look identical.

I bought the first version (ear 1), and while the ANC worked, the problem I had was that every now and then it would randomly turn transparency mode on and off without me touching it.

The other issue I had was pause and skip would not work until I tried the command on the OTHER side. so always a 3x trying thing.
Also the "auto pause audio when removing one from ear" feature was hit and miss. either didnt work, or would take just too long to pause, it was just quicker and more reliable to remove both buds

Hopefully they fixed these issues with this model

      • I have the Ear 2024.
Disappointed in them, excited to see what the new Pixel buds can offer.

        • Got'em, reliably great.
The volume control is finicky, constantly pausing instead, so not as good as the Nothing ear (because no stem and small surface area)
They fall out a little easier then the Nothing Ear, and inserting them is not as intuitive they feel like a round ball.
The Nothing Ear look WAAAY cooler

        • Was hoping to come back to Nothing as I have the Nothing phone as well, and love the design language

  • These are excellent. I have Nothing Ear 2s from last year. They have excellent sound, battery and quality is good. And fit well

Just read a bunch of reviews, TLDR seems to be:

    • excellent clarity and soundstage
    • bass heavy out of the box, but easily tweaked back
    • excellent EQ controls
    • excellent call quality, handling background noise far better than Airpod Pros and XM5s
    • average noise cancelling
    • good comfort
    • poor transparency mode, if this is important to you, probably give these a miss
    • ok isolation
    • ok battery life

As someone who's never been able to justify XM's at full-price and has always bought refurbs, I pulled the trigger on these. I can live without having the best noise cancelling, as long as it's decent (which these seem to be), the battery life isn't the greatest, but should easily suit my needs, and the improvement in call quality will be huge (no-one can ever make out what I'm saying while driving wearing Sony XMs). That last video I linked demonstrates the improvement in call quality really definitively. For the money, this was a pretty easy purchase (and will be a HUGE step up from the $50 JBLs I've been using the last few months).

Suggest doing some research before getting these, audiophile reviews are stepping all over these for how poorly they are tunned

    • These are wireless ear buds geared for everyday living.
An audiophile that wants superb audio aught not be looking at tiny Bluetooth ear buds, but rather over-ear wired headsets.
They are also considerably less money then pro tuned audio devices

      • -1

True wireless earbuds are just one of the many forms that audio devices come in. While I agree that wired options are typically preferred by audiophiles when circumstances allow, it doesn't mean we don't use true wireless earbuds when we're out for a run or commuting.

All I'm saying is that at a price of $220, the Nothing earbuds might not offer the best value for money. I don't want to recommend any other products to avoid appearing association to any brand/product, but the Nothing earbuds seem to be more about hype than value. While EQ can address some of the tuning issues mentioned, it's a compromise and not ideal. I'm sure there are plenty of resources that explain why.

        • While EQ can address some of the tuning issues mentioned, it's a compromise and not ideal. I'm sure there are plenty of resources that explain why.

You're talking about tuning and audiophiles and then saying EQ'ing is a compromise. I'm sorta confused here, that seems almost contradictory haha.

Regardless, If you have any recommendations of superior/equivalent earbuds in this price range I'm sure everyone would be happy to hear it. There's plenty of great value buds under $150 (and even $100), that's not exactly enlightening. But I'm unaware of any flagship ones in this price range.

    • By default they're bass heavy cause that's what the general consumer wants/ perceives as sounding good.

Regardless , the app has one of the most comprehensive Eq's on the market so you can tune it however you like kinda making that irrelevant.
